Should Schools Encourage Children To Transition?

Should Schools Encourage Children To Transition?

By Bob Small

Trans people are not “an issue”.

They are people.

The first activity many of us need to do, when looking at new formations is force ourselves to understand that this is 2023, rather than 1983 or 1953 or any prior date.  The second activity, and this is purely my idea, is how do we neither encourage or discourage a mature person from becoming a Transexual Person but how do we wait until they are mature enough to come to this decision.  How old is mature enough?  To my mind, if they are not old enough to drive, enlist in the military, or vote, they are not old enough to make as final a decision as “transitioning”.   Or is the opposite true, should 12-year-olds be able to drive, enlist in the military, and vote?  And how should this be decided?

And, more importantly, who should make the decision.  I only have answers, not questions.

The toolkit for gender spectrum  brings up some fascinating questions like “are there gender differences in what kids are expected to do during recess? They also discuss the “gender-neutral day”.  There are some fascinating ideas here, which are, at least, worth debating.

In Philadelphia, for instance, had quoted the Pope Francis as saying “The Catholic Church consistently affirms the inherent dignity of each and every person.”  I’m not sure of the current translation of that, since there are not any recent posts, but you can see the previous details here.

The Post Millennial, is a conservative Canadian publication which has published some stories I found dubious one of which was the Pennsylvania Department of Education says kids can identify as transgender.

So I checked Pennsylvania Department of Educations website and it did have the line, under “Creating Gender-inclusive schools and classrooms  that “If you don’t know a student’s preferred personal pronoun, it’s always best to ask”.

I couldn’t find anything on three-year-olds identifying as transgender, however.

In Delaware County, Haverford High School introduced proposed School Board  Policy 259, ensuring Equity and Non-discrimination for Gender Expansive and Transgender students and Strath Haven’s The Panther Press carried an article Unlocking the door to equality  by Cece Olszewski on Jan. 20, 2022

The first high school in Pennsylvania to adopt a Transgender Bathroom Policy, was Springfield Township in Montco.

So, is there a way to arrive at an age for this decision.  Is there even a way to discuss this?

I’d like to hear opinions.

  1. It’s the Future

Give me crack and anal sex
Take the only tree that’s left
And stuff it up the hole
    In your culture

    Destroy another fetus now
    We don’t like children anyhow
I’ve seen the future, baby: It is murder
    –Leonard Cohen (The Future)

With the wrong people in charge of social messaging many — if not most — will do things very much against their interest. They will permanently damage their bodies. They will sacrifice their children and feel noble as though they were Phoenicians.

In 1983 it was inconceivable that a child would want to transition. The change from then to now is entirely driven by marketing. Schools, governmental agencies, entertainment and even churches promote it as good and healthy.

Without this marketing it would hardly be considered.

    So why the marketing?

    That’s the question.

    This is a spiritual battle.

There is a force out there that hates us and wants us to wallow in pain and misery.

And there is a force, God, our Creator, that loves us and wants us to live free and with dignity.

The choice as to who to follow is entirely up to us, though.

Those of us who are not on the fence have to encourage those who are to not listen to the demons, rather than join in their cruel whispering.

  2. It sure was easier when I was a kid. I liked climbing trees, antique cars, and math, but I also liked knitting new outfits for my Glamour Misty doll, and never worried that I somehow wasn’t a girl. Would a girl like me now have to run away from home and hide out in the woods until she was old enough to refuse transition hormone treatments and surgery? I wonder how many girls are being pressured to convert, will regret it later as adults, and then sue the people who did this to them? It’s already starting to happen, and IMHO the more money they win, the better.

    1. Below is a writing that contains food for thought on the trans-demic that is infecting our schools. It was written by a knowledgeable West Chester resident and read at the March, 2022 West Chester Area School District school board meeting. I doubt that the board paid attention but its insights SHOULD be considered by every board member, administrator and educator throughout the country.

“The science on child and brain development overwhelmingly agrees that children’s brains are not able to process complex problems fully until the age of 25 and yet the WCASD is providing information to students on sexual diversity, a very complex social construct that most adults have trouble comprehending. For what purpose? Secondary students, especially middle school and high school students, are in a developmental stage that is fraught with impulsive behaviors, confusion about relationships, that openly questions authority and pushes boundaries and now you want them to question their sexual identity as well? No wonder children today are anxious, depressed and committing suicide at an alarming rate.

Today over 1.8 percent of children identify as transgender, a 4000-5000% increase over 2017 only five years ago. In addition, the majority of patients with gender dysphoria have comorbidities with psychiatric axis 1 diagnoses. Don’t take it from me – take it from the Trevor project, an LGBTQ support organization for a study from the National Institutes of Health psychiatric axis 1 comorbidities among patients with gender dysphoria by Mehbodi and (inaudible). It’s also important to note that 70 – 90% of teenagers who identify as transgender do not when they reach adulthood. What does that tell you about making those kinds of decisions at a developmentally inappropriate age? The question is why?

Why are all these children so confused, depressed, anxious and suicidal?
      What is the root cause?

Why this generation? Why now? What is different?

Never before has a generation of kids been told that they can choose their gender.

Never before has a generation of kids been taught to believe that biology is a social construct.

Never before has sex education meant the proffering of highly sexually inappropriate pornographic books in school libraries.

Never before have school officials admittedly hidden a child’s questioning or mental health issues and proclaimed sexual preferences from parents.

So I ask you – all of the board members, all of the administrators, all of the teachers, all of us…are you part of the solution or are you part of the problem?

    2. These school boards should make sure that their districts have a HUGE legal defense fund for the lawsuits which will certainly be filed when in future years CHILDREN, who have been encouraged to question their gender by teachers and administrators and then acted upon it, realize the damage that has been done to their bodies and wish to reverse it. The promotion of the trans-agenda that is occurring in our schools is INSANE and EGREGIOUS. It is the school’s function to protect children who truly suffer from gender dysphoria from bullying and ensure they are treated with the respect to which ALL students are entitled; it is NOT the function of schools to PROMOTE these ideologies to impressionable young people.
