The White Star Line built just three Olympic-class luxury class ocean liners. The RMS Olympic suffered a major collision with the cruiser HMS Hawke months after its maiden voyage in 1911 but survived to have a long career. The RMS Titanic, well, was the RMS Titanic. The RMS Britannic was turned into a hospital ship for World War I. It sank in 1916 after hitting a German mine. Violet Jessop was there for all three disasters — as a stewardess on the Olympic and Titanic when it sunk, and as a nurse on the Britannic. She died in 1971.
Violet Jessop was a bad luck charm. I’d stay off of any boat she was on.
