The 50,000 Greenlanders who live on the world’s largest island in some of the world’s worst weather drink over 30 million cans of beer a year — at least in 1986.
That’s not really that much, when we look at it. 30 million cans, distributed over 50,000 people, works out to 600 cans apiece, which is 25 24-can cases. That’s basically a case every other week. Of course, we’d have to adjust, because not every one of the 50,000 Greenlanders can be drinking beer, but still…
Ah yes, but it still takes stamina and courage to guzzle bottles of Bud if you are a well digger up there.
