Tea refers to what is brewed from camellia sinensis. If you want to call it tea but it’s brewed from something else the adjective herbal is needed.

  1. Actually, we have an older word for an infusion of herbs or other leaves than tea. It’s “tisane”. Some makers of herbal brews are starting to revive it’s use.
