To 5G Or Not To 5G

To 5G Or Not To 5G

By Bob Small

One of the topics that followed me home from the 2023 Children’s Health Defense Conference was the rush to 5G and the results of that rush.  5 G is the fifth-generation mobile network.

Delco is part of the whole push to 5 G but first let’s speak of the “alleged” advantages of it.  According to an article in Interesting Engineering 5Gs advantages are speed, reduced interference, reduced latency orresponses between devices, wider bandwidth, and “a revolution in how we communicate.”

Of course, there aren’t any health risks, right?

Opinions differ.

Just  one paragraph from the above article:  For example, citing a large body of research on the hazards of exposure to EMF, more than 240 scientists, who together have published more than 2,000 peer-reviewed papers on the effects of EMF, have appealed to the United Nations for urgent action to reduce EMF exposure emitting from wireless sources. These scientists also submitted a letter to the FCC, asking it to consider health risks and environmental issues before rapidly deploying 5th-generation wireless infrastructure.

The folks at Environmental Health Trust who attended the conference, organized because of these possible risks.  Dangers they cite include the need to build antennas closer to each other which will further an already existing impact on insect behavior, and an increased use of energy.

There are a number of federal bills that address the situation. These are HS 3557, HS 4141, HR 1338, HR 3565, HR 4510, HR 6492 and S 2855. You can review them here.

PECO has already begun their tree-cutting binge in Delaware County, including Swarthmore and Marple.

It’s especially egregious in Swarthmore, which has been designated as a “tree city” and also a “bird town”.

Oh well, maybe we can be re-designated as a “5G Tower City.

The What If Question In The Presidential Race

The What If Question In The Presidential Race

By Bob Small

The question of what would happen if either of the two leading Presidential Contenders left the race keeps coming up.  This is due to Biden’s age and the continuing court dramas regarding Donald Trump.

My personal prediction is that neither of those candidates will be there in November. Of course, my prediction was that the Eagles would win the 2023 Super Bowl.  This is an article covering the various possibilities:   What if Biden or Trump suddenly leaves the 2024 race?

In the “another one bites the dust” section of the Political News, Marianne Williamson has left the Democratic race.

The 71- year old philosophized “I read a quote the other day that said sunsets are proof that endings can be beautiful, too,” the 71-year-old said. She had earlier said that the US “needed a season of repair”, but was unable to convince more than 4 percent of the Democratic voters that she was the person for the job.

In another report, she said  “As of today, we are suspending our campaign. While the level of our failure is obvious to all, a level of success is real nonetheless.”

Not sure what that means either.

This lack of clarity may have been the story of her campaign or non-campaign.

Even as she was ending her campaign, she had a running battle with clarity

“As with every other aspect of my career over the last 40 years, I know how ideas float through the air forming ever new designs,” she said.

She finished with only 2 percent of the vote,

The only well-known Democratic candidate remaining is Dean Phillips, a Minnesota congressman, whose star may begin rising now, as it becomes clearer and clearer to the Democratic party that Jospeh Biden should not be running in 2024.  This may also help RFK, Jr, notwithstanding whether he runs as a Democrat, Independent, Libertarian, etc.

Maybe the Dems need to review their options from among the Politics1.com Democratic Candidate list.

Rollan Roberts Has Left The Race

Rollan Roberts Has Left The Race

By Bob Small

Rollan Roberts has left the race.

The West Virginia businessman had been seeking the Republican nomination for president. A seventh-place finish in the Iowa Caucus along with an unfortunate viral video showing him not immediately rushing to his pregnant wife’s assistance meant that it was time to turn off the lights.

His wife, Rebecca Lea, when she collapsed while he was making an announcement.

She turned out to be fine and Rollan really didn’t seem to get what was happening.

It looked bad, though, and this, unlike his policy proposals, is what went all over the internet.

The 14 pages of “Policies of the Roberts Presidency”, include some rather striking ideas.

“No one will pay tax on the first $40-60,000 they earn depending on how they file,” Roberts says. “The Flat Tax Rate Table is paid only on monies earned in that range. “

“All existing student loan debt will be settled at a reduced rate and paid by the public endowments of institutions that used public money to enrich themselves,” Roberts says.

Hypocritical Harvard’s $50.9 billion endowment being used to make good on the poor suckers trapped in life-long debt after spending fortunes on worthless degrees?

We like that.

Roberts also wants to extend the school day until 5 p.m. for high school students. The high school stuff would be from 8 a.m. until noon and the college or trade school stuff the remainder.

Roberts “grew up in the holler of Beaver, West Virginia” and received his MBA from Liberty University, and DBA (Doctor of Business Administration) from California Intercontinental University.

He is the head of the U.S. Center for Diplomacy .

Roberts noted that Donald Trump is “the predominate front runner”.

Possibly some of his ideas will outlive his candidacy.

Our Right To Refuse

Our Right To Refuse

By Bob Small

There were numerous groups that I discovered in my dealings with Children’s Health Defense (CHD).

Right to refuse is one of the more active.

Its mission statement is “Right to Refuse is a national campaign to help state organizations and grassroots advocates connect for the purpose of passing state laws that would protect the rights of individuals to make their own health decisions.”

According to their website,  as of Dec 31, “74 Right to Refuse Bills have passed into laws in 29 States.”

In Pennsylvania, we have Pennsylvania Coalition for Informed Consent

To quote from the above website  “The Pennsylvania Coalition for Informed Consent works to preserve the vital personal freedom and human right to informed consent, privacy, and choice for medical procedures in Pennsylvania. “  There is a listing of House and Senate Bills listed to either support or reject.

Related websites are Health Freedom Pennsylvania: Home which lists allied groups. The active ones are https://www.pavotersguide.com/  which should be updated soon for 2024 and https://rightforliberty.com/ . See also the listed 8 organizations listed under Resource Center.

According to their charts, there were three vaccines in 1960.

As of 2019, there were 56. (

In my youth, we were shown photos of children in iron lungs to encourage us to receive our polio shots which was a shot we all willingly received –after seeing the photos.

Right about here we should say that vaccines are an individual choice.  Having had shingles, a shingles shot seemed appropriate.  A few weeks after two Covid shots, I got Covid.  That’s when this person started to rethink his choices.

Some other related websites on this topic are:

We should all remember that we , as citizens,  have both a right and a responsibility to contact our State and Local elected officials on these issues along with any others.

Free And Equal Debate Series Has Begun

Free And Equal Debate Series Has Begun

By Bob Small

The Free and Equal Debate Series, founded by the Free and Equal Elections Foundation, has been presenting presidential debates since 2008.  The major party candidates have never participated but those of the three largest alternative parties — Constitution, Green, and Libertarian — have. The 2024 debate season began Jan. 18.

This debate was moderated by F&E founder Christina Tobin and Kwame Jackson.

The four candidates were Gabriel Cornejo, Frankie Lozada, Stephen Lyons, and Jason Palmer.

These were selected by the Free and Equal voting procedure, explained on their website. Hopefully, the Feb. 29 debate will have more diversity. It can be watched on Rumble and information about it can be found here: https://freeandequal.org/debate/2024-free-equal-presidential-debate/

Concerning the first debate, Gabriel Cornejo of Nevada says he’s running because “our ship is sinking” and he’d “rather stop the people drilling the holes causing the leak than enjoy the music on the way down.”

He describes how, in support of a classmate undergoing chemotherapy, he and 13 other classmates and teachers shaved their heads “to let our friend know he wasn’t alone.”

His Freedom Dividend includes a “$1,000 a month  for every person over 18 to spend”, as a way of operating the country like a business.

Steve P. Lyonsof Maryland is the only candidate to admit failing second grade, though probably not the only one.  He has a list of 19 issues. He says if he becomes president he will prepare for the worst.

“I will have a meeting with all governors, and we will put a 5,000 person task force in place per state,” he says.

He also says he will buy back farmland.

“We will buy every farmland that is up for sale and put legal immigrant farmers and croppers on the lands to allow those lands to flourish with all different types of crops, fruit, and meat. “

He has been a master plumber and gas fitter for over 46 years.

Saint Matrona And Stalin

Saint Matrona And Stalin

By Bob Small

Joseph Stalin, known as Joseph Vissarrionovich Stalin born as Joseb Besarionis Dze Jughashvili, has a mixed evaluation from a historical perspective.  Many of his actions were monstrous but the Allies might have lost World War 2, if he hadn’t had Russia switch sides.  In 2024, he’s still a source of controversy in his native Georgia.

There is an icon showing Stalin being blessed by Saint Matrona of Moscow the Holy Trinity (Saemba) Cathedral.

A youthful Stalin attended the Russian Orthodox Theological Seminary in Tiflis, Georgia with the intent of becoming a priest.

Activist, Nata Peradze threw blue paint on the icon on Jan. 9.

This action generated a reaction in which members of the far-right “Alt Info” party to surround Ms. Peradze’s house but luckily local Police quickly arrived.

Ms. Peradze is not alone in her opinion regarding the icon. Gocha Barnov, a theologian, told TV channel Mtavari Arkhi that the icon’s presence in the cathedral was ‘blasphemous’ and that it should be removed immediately.    Davit Tarkan-Mouravi, the leader of the far-right, Alliance of Patriots of Georgia announced that he had donated the icon to the Church.

Stalin became an avowed atheist and that the meeting memorialized in the Icon — which is mean to honor Saint Matrona — is apocryphal at best.

However, let truth not stand in the way of a good story.

Saint Matrona was a contemporary of the dictator, though, being born a few years after and dying one year before in 1952. Like Stalin, she lived in Moscow but as a Christian and many miracles are attributed her.

One reason that Ms. Peradze threw the paint on the icon  is her family’s history which she blames on Stalin.

“It’s my pain,” Ms. Peradze told Al Jazeera. “We have no [discussions] about what happened and no memorials for the people who went through hell because of this guy. There were priests on my father’s side and on my mother’s there were dissidents. Some were deported to Siberia and some were lost and we never knew what happened to them.”

There has been a resurgence in Stalin’s popularity in Georgia, with at least 11 new statues of him appearing since the governing Georgian Dream party came to power in 2012.

Perhaps we should remember Stalin as a complicated individual who…how should we finish this sentence?

Paperboy Love Prince, Agent For Change

Paperboy Love Prince, Agent For Change

By Bob Small

Paperboy Love Prince is running a quixotic race for president. He is the founder of Our Food ❤️ (@ourfoodnyc), a food aid service in New York City.

Our Food has distributed over $4 million worth of free food across the five boroughs he claims.

The rapper was also a main part in “launching and filling over 50 community fridges in NYC”, and establishing Tiny Houses NYC.

He got 20 percent of the vote in New York’s 7th District as 2020 congressional candidate. It’s an incredible total for an independent. He has also run for New York mayor.

Rolling Stone featured him concerning the mayoral race:

His plans include “The Utopia Plan includes a guaranteed income for all in the form of a monthly cash or cryptocurrency payment of $2,000: Love Centers where New Yorkers can go to make friends, receive relationship and mental health counseling, childcare and job training”, transforming the NYPD into a love team, and other plans.

Towards the end of the article, he lists places where some of these proposed changes are already happening  such as Stockton’s Universal Basic Income Experiment Increased …

Cancel Rent? Ithica, N.Y. check!  Ithaca #Cancelrent Bill

Like with many futuristic proposals, not everything will be successful, especially when completed by government but still…

In a Guardian article Paperboy Prince, the pro-love presidential candidate  he said “I’m fighting for centering this country around love, putting it first, being anti-war, and pro-love, and creating love centers around the country,”

He’s also become friends with Vermin Supreme, another fascinating presidential candidate.

The Prince was born David Porter, Jr., and he comes from generations of churchgoers, including the late Bishop Wilbert S. Mckinley.

Why Do So Many New York Politicians Want Paperboy …

He previously organized regular shows called “Hip Hop Yoga Live”, while an undergrad at the University of Maryland, the concept being “a rap show at Moses’ house.”  To find his music, see MUSIC VIDEOS BY PAPERBOY PRINCE OF THE SUBURBS

Conference Concerns Autism

Conference Concerns Autism

By Bob Small

Another flyer from the  Children’s Health Defense (CHD) Conference was about the Autism Health Summit scheduled for Feb. 2 and 3 in San Antonio.

It will be streamed live online.

Protection of the Educational Rights of Kids (PERK) is encouraging it be watched. PERK says that because there is no medical cure for autism, many parents turn to biomedical treatments and therapies. Most of these treatments are low-risk, and some have the potential to be life-changing.

This is not to be confused with any of the “establishment” conferences about autism such as the International Conference on Autism which follows the accepted narratives.

The New York Times article  Autism Prevalence Rises Again, Study Finds implies that there are not more cases of autism but as Professor Catherine Lord of the UCLA Medical School says “I have a feeling there is just more discovery.”

There are a number of issues brought up on Adults with Autism  How to navigate adulthood on the autism spectrum  “As individuals continue to grow and develop . . . what autism looks like in a person, really changes”.  This was from Vanessa Bal, Rutgers University associate professor of psychology.

“For some people, not having an explanation of how to understand themselves is really difficult,” she says.

Rebecca Faith Quinn, an LA actress with autism said . “A lot of autism experts get so focused on the autism that they forget they are looking at an autistic person, , , , That is a very dehumanizing experience.”

In summation, adults with autism are very often an ignored population.

For many years when I woke up at seven in the morning for my driving job. I listened to Imus in the Morning once I delivered my charge, and then, after breakfast, driving home.  Imus was controversial and sometimes went way past controversy and ended up apologizing for things he should not have said.

The CHD wrote a  a tribute him for his support of those suffering from autism.

“His commitment to airing all sides of controversial issues became apparent to the autism community in 2005 and 2006 as the   Combating Autism Act  (CAA) was being discussed in Congress. The Act, which was ultimately signed into law by George W. Bush in December of 2006, “

The treatments for autism continue to be controversial.

Jason Palmer and Conscious Capitalism

Jason Palmer and Conscious Capitalism

By Bob Small

Democratic presidential candidate Jason Palmer is a proponent of “conscious capitalism”, whose tenets are higher purpose, stakeholder orientation, leadership and conscious culture.

The proponents of this philosophy believe in “elevating humanity through their efforts”, unlike regular capitalism which just believes in the elevation of one’s bank account.

What he calls “Palmer’s Pillars” are Conscious Capitalism,  People First, The New Talent Economy  and Modernizing the US Government. Under each are numerous subsections. One example found under Measure the government like a business says

This campaign and its team find it astonishing that our federal government does not track its finances according to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). We don’t even have a national Balance Sheet. Basic advances in modern accounting should be implemented so that we can compare investments to expenses and get much, much better at how we spend taxpayer money.”

Under section 6, entitled Liberation we have

“If we want to build a bright future we must acknowledge the darkness in our past”.

Under People First in the immigration subsection  says “This will require a complete rewrite of our nation’s immigration laws to be more like the laws of Australia and Canada.  “

He  states that he believes capitalism is the world’s best economic system”.

He is a proponent of the Right to Start movement which “is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that fights to expand entrepreneurial opportunity for all”.

Drop The Charges Against Assange

Drop The Charges Against Assange

By Bob Small

Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA-14) and Ilhan Omar (D-MN-5), who could not  be described as ideological bedfellows but they found a cause that unites them. It’s the freeing of Julian Assange and both are co-sponsors of H.Res.934 which would do so.

Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that regular journalistic activities are protected under the First Amendment and that the United States ought to drop all charges against and attempts to extradite Julian Assange, the bill reads.

The chances of this even being debated on the House floor, though, are slim to none and “slim’s left town.”

That Paul A Gosar (R-AZ-9), and the eight others introduced the bill shows courage in a when too many act like the townspeople in “High Noon

Among others, his lawyer, Jennifer Robinson, says “His life is at risk (if extradited) and I am not exaggerating this.”

In a January 2021 trial, Judge  Vanessa Baraitser said  “Assange should not be sent to the US, citing a real and “oppressive” risk of suicide, “

The Independent, in a tribute to John Pilger, quoted his last published piece “We are all Spartacus if we want to be.

This article also quotes Assange’s wife, Stella, who called Pilger a “consistent ally of the dispossessed”.

Assange’s father John Shipton, was recently in Brazil, promoting a movie about his son,

In May 2023 “Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said in London that the journalist’s continued imprisonment was “shameful.” “

Even GOP Presidential Candidates have opinions on Assange,  with Vivek Ramaswamy saying that Assange, like too many to name, is another one of our imprisoned heroes.
