Chester City Getting $10 Million Garage

Chester City Getting $10 Million Garage — Chester City’s new public works garage on Route 291 between Powell and Lowell streets is going to cost $10.6 million and city GOP boss Tessalieni Kelley thinks that’s a tad high.

He’s right, really.

Pennsylvania’s prevailing wage law automatically jacks up the cost 20 percent over that a privately owned structure.

And of course you’d think that in an impoverished AND overtaxed place like Chester pennies would be pinched.

The garage is going to be 10,270-square-foot and include conference rooms.

On the other hand, Chester isn’t paying for it.

American Rescue Plan Act money covers $9 million with $1.4 million from DELCORA and another $200,000 from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.

This is good because it means that Mayor Stefan Roots can still collect his $94,186 salary.

Stefan is the highest paid elected municipal official in Delaware County, it appears.

We hope the poor people of Chester are proud.

Really, the salary of Mayor Ed Brown of Upper Darby is but a mere $10K.

And Upper Darby, at 85,888 persons, has more than twice the population of Chester which has 34,052 persons.

Good that Tessalieni is asking questions.

The garage is expected to be finished by the end of 2026.

No Kings Tax Funded In Havertown?

No Kings Tax Funded In Havertown? — It was noted at Trump’s conference on domestic terrorism that it is illegal to use tax dollars to support political rallies.

Will tomorrow’s scheduled “No Kings” rally get money from the people?

We hear that the June 14 “No Kings” rally on Eagle Road cost Haverford Township taxpayers somewhere between $10,000 and $30,000.

There were certainly a whole lot of police officers and township workers doing extra duty.

Also commissioners Sherry Forste-Grupp and Larry Holmes were in attendance. They were described as acting like grand marshals.

The township is dragging its feet regarding a breakdown of costs.

Hope nobody tells Pam Bondi that tomorrow’s political rally is going to be tax funded.

Committeeman Pens Open Letter To Delco GOP

Committeeman Pens Open Letter To Delco GOP

By John P. Child

Chairman Agovino, Vice-Chair Conan, Secretary Galluch & Lord Knows who the Delco*GOP Treasurer is —

Here’s an OPEN Letter to Delco*GOP or … why not?

“Everything You Wanted To Know About The Delco*GOP 2nd Annual Precinct Committee-Convention held on Sept 15, but were afraid to ask” … yikes, can you spell “Junta”?

The 2nd Annual Delco*GOP Committee Convention:

Delco*GOP Chair, Businessman Frank Agovino

Delco*GOP Vice Chair, Attorney Lindsay Conan was named Parliamentarian.

Delco*GOP UDarby School Board Candidate Alfeia Goodwin, delivered invocation.

Prologue 1: One of the Delco*GOP-Attorney-Insiders called me the day of the Convention and said “John, you HAVE TO BE the only one in 40-years who has actually read the Delco*GOP-Bylaws.” He wasn’t wrong.
Prologue 2: A half-dozen of the elected Committee People in attendance

(Conservatives) raised points of order regarding The Bylaws.

Point of Order:  No Proper Notice. Delco*GOP-Bylaws stipulate at least 10-days notice by USPS of the Agenda and any Bylaw Changes, but committee people only got 3-days notice & by email, not mail. Point of order was raised to postpone any voting until we get the full 10-Days to review changes as stipulated in The Rules/Bylaws.

NOTE: there is a good reason why 10-days notice is/was stipulated. It’s so you can read … think … discuss … debate … consider and then come to an informed consensus… THAT’s how real business is conducted, not slap-dash, bing-bang. But it’s not my circus; not my monkeys.

Motion to suspend the bylaws was gavelled through by the Delco*GOP Voice Vote Railroad. All Aboard!Point of Order: Why Are We Not Using  a Secret ballot, instead of voice voting stipulated in the the Bylaws?Motion to Suspend bylaws was gavelled through by

The Voice-Vote-Railroad. All Aboard!Point of Order: Proposed Bylaw changes:  First Bylaw Change:  Get Rid of the Man / Woman designations for Precinct Committee people (PCs). Makes sense. It’ll be easier to fill PC-vacancies if we toss out the archaic Man/Woman designations. Should have been done years ago… better late than never. Good Idea. Bravo! Bylaw Change Was Gaveled Through By The Voice-Vote-Railroad. All Aboard!– Second Bylaw Change: eliminate Article V Building Committee Chair informed PCs that since Delco*GOP-HQ was SOLD (on 6/3/25 for $900,000, see transfer tax records) and since Delco*GOP has entered into a 10-year lease on another building (?somewhere near 2nd & Jackson?) then there is no longer a need for a Building Committee so we should get rid of Article V so as to “update” and “clean up” the Bylaws.

(NOTE: County Records via MLS show it was not Delco*GOP which sold HQ, but an entity called “DelcoRepInc, Frank Agovino & Terrence Tracy, Trustees” who sold 321-23 W Front Street Delco*GOP-Headquarters Bldg).First Question: Article V Building Committee was created as a “permanent, continuing and [sic] self-perpetuation” Committee. So how can we kill The Building Committee when it was specifically created to be “permanent, continuing and self-perpetuating”?

Second Question: Article V Building Committee has nothing to do with whether or not the building itself is Owned or Leased; rather it has everything to do with the open-reporting to The Committee for Receipts and Expenditures regarding the administration of Delco*GOP-HQ —  NOWHERE in Article V is there any mention of whether or not the Delco*GOP-HQ space is Owned or Leased.

Third Question: By killing Article V Building Committee what we are killing is any oversight (& by inference, any transparency) regarding the administration of GOP-HQ: I can think of 900,000-reasons why it makes perfect sense to be rid of Article V. Lots of questions here, no? Where’s the money (in general) coming from? Where’s the money going? How’s the money being spent? By killing Article V (which has apparently been in the Bylaws/Rules since the days of Calvin Coolidge), the entire Administration of Delco*GOP is now legally opaque. NOTE: I’m no attorney, maybe I’m reading it all wrong… but this is why there is a 10-day Notice. So we can review and read and discuss…

Motion to kill Article V was gaveled-through by The Voice-Vote-Railroad. All Aboard!

Another Point of Order Was Raised: Illegal Precinct Consolidation– de-facto REDISTRICTING.

Delco (as we speak) is illegally consolidating dozens of polling places and precincts throughout the County to centralize * centralize * centralize the vote (in violation of the Sunshine Act). What Delco is doing is a de-facto redistricting without all the rigamarole and legal hoops to jump through. Our Republic was founded on DE-Centralization, not Soviet Style Centralization. Why is Delco*GOP not objecting to this illegality?

Dirty Little Secret: The UniParty Powers-That-Be want to be rid of individual Precincts (and by inference their elected Precinct Committee People) RESULT: Voters vote by mail with the “counting” taking place at the Centralized Cheat (sorry, Counting) Centers away from the prying eyes of local citizens/neighbors.

Another Point of Order: Why does Delco*GOP tolerate A Socialist on the Delco Board of Elections?

County Council selects (3) Members of the Board of Elections. With a quarter of a million registered “D”s in Delco, how is it the “D”s couldn’t find a single “D” to sit on the Delco*Board of Elections who could pledge himself to the Republic? The “D”-member of the BoElections is Scott Alberts, an outspoken and proud member of the Democratic Socialists of America– A Bernie Bro … a Mamdami-wanna-be. It’s Bad enough that one-third of BoElections is a Socialist. What’s worse is the “R”s of Delco are as meek as mice for not screaming bloody murder about it. Why is Delco*GOP so comfortable with a Socialist on the Board of Elections?!!Another Point of Order: Why will there be NO Primary For “R” Governor Candidate in 2026?Despite violating both the PAGOP and Delco*GOP Bylaws it smells like there will be NO PRIMARY for “R”-Governor’s race in 2026… The PA*GOP-Insiders in Harrisburg & Media PA have determined that the PA Treasurer will be the “R”-Nominee for Governor… She seems like a fine person, but why are we not allowing The Primary Process? It’s against the bylaws to PRE-ENDORSE Primary candidates… we’re supposed to let the fur fly… let the people be heard and then AFTER The Primary we are to coalesce around the winner. So why no Primary for Governor Candidate?
My question to the Chair: “Why in the world am I freezing my ass off on May 19th (

Primary Day) at 5am with my card table and American Flag and Sample Ballots at my polling place in Garrett Hill if there’s no free, fair and transparent Primary Process? If a handful of Inside-Guys are going to hand-pick our “R”-Governor-candidate 8-months before The Primary, then Why In The World Are We Having A Primary At All? If it’s all hand-picked ahead of time, then why pretend it’s a Primary? It’s Kabuki BS plain and simple.
I wasn’t able to bring it up: but 4-year PC-Terms put us Out-Of-Sync with the Election Cycle. Every 2-years 100% of the US Representatives and State-House Representatives come up for election. Every 2-years one third of all the US Senators and State Senators come up for election. 4-year PC-terms put us out of sync and make us a weak Party with no ground game (when we need it most), which is during elections every two years. For 100-years in Delco the PC-terms were two years… It’s time to Restore & Conserve what worked for a century.

The real ugliness ensued when Delco*GOP-Chairman had heard QUITE ENOUGH noise from the “cheap seats” and took to swearing like a stable boy & pounding the lectern, repeatedly calling those of us who were asking questions “bullshit”. Chairman told us: “We have an election to win in less than 60-days and you’re wasting our time!” The Chair read us the riot act in so many words; telling us to: “Get in Line, or Get Out!”. All the Committee People assembled agreed… The Huge Majority of Delco*GOP-PCs in attendance barked and clapped like seals… They concluded Business and ushered in GOP’s Favorite Son / GOP*Grifter-in-Chief Scott Pressler to extol  the virtues of Voting By Mail (outside of the machines themselves, the most egregious vector for election fraud… and we can prove it; but cannot get a judge or jury assigned…)

Analogy: There Are Gorillas Eating Cheetos In Our Living Room!

Big Questions Remain:

— Where did the $900,000 from the sale of the GOP*HQ go? Where’s it invested? With Whom? How’s it being spent? Where’s the oversight and transparency? You Tell Me.

— Where is the new location of Delco*GOP-HQ’s new 10-year lease? You Tell Me.

— Who is the Delco*GOP-Treasurer and why is he not listed on the website? You Tell Me.

— Who is the Delco*GOP-Secretary and why’s he not listed on the website? You Tell Me.

— Who are the members of the Delco*GOP-Committee for Receipts & Expenditures  and why are they not listed on the website? You Tell Me.

— Where do we find the minutes of Delco*GOP meetings and why are they not posted to the website? Who knows?

— How do we have Evidence of a Quorum? (I’ve asked 3-times for it, but nothing so far)… You Tell Me.

— Why are the Bylaws not posted to the website? You Tell Me.

— 35% of Delaware County has No GOP Committee at all… so, why is there no Bench Building Committee to fill the vacancies and establish GOP Committees in the most populous areas of the County? Who knows?

— Who are the Delco*GOP Committee People and why are they not posted to the website? According to the Bylaws/Rules Delco*GOP is required to deliver to PAGOP the Delco*PC-list, but we can’t see it. How Come? I reached out to PAGOP to get the list from H-B… they declined as they’re “not at liberty” to do so.

— Why are we ignoring our own bylaws and endorsing candidates before the Primary? You Tell Me.

— Bottom Line: why is Delco*GOP so comfortable with losing elections year after year?

So that’s where we are as a County Republican Party… it’s a junta … no questions allowed … no debate allowed … no transparency or oversight allowed … Opacity and Obfuscation Rule … It’s a UniParty …

Let us bow our heads and pray to God Almighty for a second party.

Hail Hydra!

Only 1 Alternative State-Wide Candidate in PA

Only 1 Alternative State-Wide Candidate in PA

By Bob Small

On the state-wide election ballot for Tuesday, Nov 4, there will only be one “alternative party” candidate, namely Dan Wassmer , wassmer4pa.com, of the newly formed Liberal Party. He’s running for Pennsylvania Superior Court and has top ballot position.

Dan is an adjunct professor at Bucks County Community College in the Business and Innovation Department

He has a Juris Doctor from New York Law School and has his own private law practice.

The Liberal Party of Pennsylvania was founded in 2022 by members of the Pennsylvania Libertarian Party who felt their party was “veering too hard to the right”. Initially, it was the Keystone Party but, in 2024, it joined the US Liberal Party. They have supported March On Harrisburg. Among their 15-point platform is support for cryptocurrency and free markets. He was the only candidate easily found on their website.

According to their website the Liberal Party is organized in 11 states .

As far as “alternative party”candidates for local offices, the Libertarian Party of Pennsylvania listed 28 andidates for various local offices. By comparison, my political alma mater, Green Party had but three candidates!

One further Candidate Green candidate dropped out of an Allegheny County race.

Working Families Party, Pennsylvania which recently won the Philadelphia City Council seat reserved for the top minority party, which is no longer the Republicans lists nine endorsements, all of whom are Democrats. Thus, they’re a minor-league affiliate of the Democrats.

Next we have the PA Forward Party. The National party was founded in 2021 by Andrew Yang.

They have four candidates and are endorsing eight from other parties including GOP candidate sfor Delco Controller, Tommy Feldman, and Philly DA, Pat Dugan.

The Pennsylvania Constitution Party has at least three plus a write-in.

Neither the Pennsylvania Chapters of the American Solidarity Party nor The Socialist Workers Party were able to attain ballot status for any of heir Candidates.

At Least One Delco GOP Leader Is Working

At Least One Delco GOP Leader Is Working — A few hours ago we posted about how life is getting worse in Delaware County, Pa. and its Republican Party — which is on the outs — is fiddling around while it burns.

Well at least one GOP leader is trying to win namely Tessalieni Kelley who is the honcho in Chester.

Here he is endorsing Bob Adams for sheriff.

We share his endorsement.

We’ll note that Media’s Michael Straw and Swarthmore’s Rob Jordan are also going above and beyond.

The party can win in November, by the way.

Seriously, who wants to be taxed to death especially when there are no hospitals around to fix you?

Greenberg Death Again Ruled Suicide

Greenberg Death Again Ruled Suicide — Ellen Greenberg’s death was again declared a suicide, Oct. 13, by the Philadelphia Medical Examiner’s office.

Ms. Greenberg died, Jan. 26, 2011, in her Manayunk apartment.

She had 22 stab wounds including 10 to her back and head.

Also, there was bruises in various states of healing on her body.

She was engaged to NBC producer Samuel Goldberg, who found the body.

The death was initially ruled a homicide then changed to suicide by assistant Medical Examiner Dr. Marlon Osbourne

Ms. Greenberg’s parents, Josh and Sandee, rejected the finding as some of the wounds were to her back and head and some apparently occurred after death.

In 2019, they asked the city’s District Attorney’s office headed by Larry Krasner to review the case. Krasner sent it then state Attorney General Josh Shapiro as Krasner had represented the Greenbergs.

And so Shapiro sat on it despite a media controversy.

Few are going to be convinced that Ms. Greenberg’s death was a suicide despite the new ruling.

Many are going to wonder why Shapiro sat on it.
