Justin Martin, 33, of Marple, waived a hearing Thursday before Magisterial District Judge Dave Lang on the charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. The charges stem from an incident 9:36p.m., Feb. 11, at his Rockhill Road residence.
According to the affidavit, Marple Officer Greg Desimone responded to Martin’s home to investigate a report of an unconscious person. He located Martin on his bed with a syringe next to him. Confiscated from Martins pants pockets were six wax bundles containing suspected heroin.
Martin was transported to Bryn Mawr Hospital by Marple Ambulance.
Martin was released and is scheduled for a Jan. 23 arraignment in Common Pleas Court.

Brent Abrams, 25, of Marple was held for a Jan. 23 arraignment in Common Pleas Court following a hearing on the charges of possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from an incident 8:43p.m., Sept. 6, in the parking lot of Wawa, 2050 Sproul Road.
According to the affidavit, Marple Officer Sean Hannigan saw suspicious activity between two drivers. He said Abrams, operating a white SUV, got out of his car and entered a black Nissan. Minutes later, Abrams got back into his own car and drove away.
Abrams was stopped in the 100 block of Sproul Road and denied meeting with anyone in the Wawa parking lot. A glass smoking pipe containing suspected marijuana residue, in plain view, was confiscated.

Steven Davis, 18, of Newtown, was held for a Jan. 23 arraignment in Common Pleas Court on the charges of DUI and careless driving. The charges stem from an accident 3:33p.m., Sept. 22, at Sproul and Paxon Hollow roads.
According to the affidavit, Marple Officer Ed Rosen responded to a two-car accident. Davis was operating a black Mercedes and admitted he slammed into the car in front of him. Both cars were severely damaged and the driver of the struck car was transported to the hospital by aambulance.
Rosen said Davis was disoriented, unsteady on his feet, had bloodshot glassy eyes and slurred speech. He also failed field sobriety tests and was transported to Springfield Hospital for a blood test. Results from Drug Scan indicated Davis was a recent user of Morphine, Codeine, Alprazolam and Cocaine. The forensic toxicologist found Davis was unfit to operate a vehicle.

Joseph McFadden, 32, of Marple, was held in abstentia for a Jan. 23 arraignment in Common Pleas Court when he failed to appear for a hearing Thursday on the charges of retail theft, receiving stolen property, possessing instruments of crime, and driving while his license was suspended. The charges stem from an incident 7:54p.m., Nov. 15, at Walmart, 400 S. State Road.
According to the affidavit, Marple Officer Nick Coffin responded to Walmart for a report of a shoplifter in custody. Store security said McFadden selected multiple items in the hardware department and then went to the stationary department and used wire cutters to cut the items out of their packaging. McFadden admitted the theft to police.
McFadden told police he plead guilty to a prior retail theft and has another theft charge pending.
