Former Maryland State Police head Marcus Brown is the man Gov. Tom Wolf wants to run the Pennsylvania State Police and it is not sitting well with the rank and file.

Brown, 50, has chosen to wear the organization’s uniform despite never having been graduated from the State Police Academy. This is a big cultural taboo. That he has chosen to wear it shows a lack of understanding of the organization he has been picked to lead, which is a strike against him but would leave him with two more. That he is insisting on wearing it, however, shows pointless arrogance and ought to be enough to disqualify him.

Among the reasons Wolf has picked Brown is his “commitment to diversity”.  The Pennsylvania State Police has had an affirmative action program for blacks and women for decades. We’d find it more comforting if Wolf’s primary goal was safe streets and highways.

  1. Diversity? Tell that to the black panthers, black congressional caucus, NAACP, supporters of black history month, etal ad nauseam. I see nothing wrong with treating people the same and believe that if you’re qualified to do something you get hired for it. I’m thoroughly sick of diversity. What b.s..

  2. I forgot one thing. Maryland sp are notorious for pulling over nra members and out of state drivers they “suspect” might have a firearm in their car and lying to them about their “right” to search a vehicle without a warrant.

  3. There is significant opposition to Governor Wolf’s controversial nominations for Secretary of State and Physician General. Growing opposition in the Senate Rules Committee could seal their defeat. Leaders of both Houses have sent a letter to Governor Wolf asking that these nominations be withdrawn.

PS – Gosnell grand jury report dedicates 28 pages to the non-feasance of the State Department.

Pedro Cortes served as Secretary of State under Ed Rendell. Under his watch, inspections of abortion centers were PROHIBITED. Twice, he was advised of women dying at the “house of horrors” run by Kermit Gosnell, and twice the State Department blocked any investigation – and did not even visit the site. Kermit Gosnell’s medical license was renewed as a matter of course. We cannot go back to the horrors of Gosnell, and we must never allow Pedro Cortes to be involved in any tax supported position in Pennsylvania – or anywhere.

Richard/Rachel Levine is completely unqualified to serve as Physician General of Pennsylvania. No administrative experience and no management experience. No familiarity with such issues as epidemiology. vaccines, or state of the art medical science. For 25 years, he has been a counselor for eating disorders, and LGBT issues. He sits on the board of a radical homosexual advocacy group called Equality. He has been selected by Tom Wolf because he is a “transgendered” person. We should not be providing a forum to be used to promote a radical agenda at taxpayer expense.
