The United States ranked 41st out of 158 nations regarding severity of terrorist activity according to a two-year study by the University of Maryland’s National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism.
The study, however, showed that the U.S. had the largest drop in terrorist activity from 2002 to 2011.

Britain ranked 28th and China, 31st, but both had more terrorist incidents during the time of the study.
