Val DiGiorgio Quitting Chesco? — It’s being reported that Val “Republican Titanic” DiGiorgio  wants to step down as Chester County Republican leader to focus full time on his responsibilities as state GOP chairman.

We’re not sure if that’s a good thing.

Hey Val, have you considered stepping down from Stradley Ronon, Pennsylvania’s premier political fixing firm?

Just kidding.

Names bandied as replacements include Rick Loughery, the Chester County Recorder of Deeds, Steven Sansone, local Republican Party Executive Vice Chair, and Joe Toner, Uwchlan Township Industrial Development Authority President.

We’re not sure if that’s a good thing either.

Haitian Protests Cause Speculation — Yesterday’s (Nov. 18) commemoration of the Battle of Vertières included massive protests and a government reaction that has left at least six dead in Haiti.

The demonstrators’ motive is reportedly massive government corruption, namely the squandering of billions  from socialist Venezuela’s discounted PetroCaribe oil program.

Not being reported is the massive corruption connected to the Clinton Foundation and the allegations of Haiti being a major source for child trafficking.

Also not being widely reported are allegations that a UN security team was involved in a massacre.

The Battle of Vertières on Nov. 18, 1803 was a victory of Haitians over the French and established the nation’s independence.

Environmentalism Causes Wildfires — President Trump in August proposed harvesting dead trees from California’s forest. It was a win-win to thinking people. There would be less wood to burn in uncontrolled blazes and more wood to be used for construction and consumer products.

Unthinking — or maybe cynically thinking — people objected of course. Unthinking people have long been objecting.

With the continuing disaster in the Golden State — at least 70 dead and 1,000 missing as of today (Nov. 17) — because of the wildfires, hopefully there will be less unthinking people.

We don’t have to stop with lumber, by the way. The dried grass and brush is fuel. Why not use it for power. Europe does. Guess if environmentalism becomes your religion you lose the ability to think outside the box.

It seems, though, that controlled burning in filtered plants is going to cause a lot less greenhouse gas than what is going on now.

Daniel Best Death Ruled SuicideDaniel Best Death Ruled Suicide — Pharmaceutical executive Daniel Best was picked by President Trump in March to lead the charge on lowering drug costs for consumers and was making waves by May.

He was found dead outside his Washington apartment on Nov. 1. The cause was “multiple blunt force injuries”.

He was 49; and had been married for 25 years to the Lisa nee Campbell. He had three sons: Jake, Nick and Matt.

The Washington D.C. medical examiner has ruled his death a suicide.
