No Indiana Jones, the Ark of the Covenant is not in the basement of the Pentagon but in the catacombs of an Ethiopian church — at least according to legend.
The church is the Chapel of the Tablet at Our Lady Mary of Zion. The guard of the Ark — the only person who is allowed to see it — must be a virgin and never leave the premises least the Ark be unguarded. The new guard is chosen by the previous one before his death.
Define Racism Truthfully, Not Politically — Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Pa1) gets props for his appearance on the just ended The Dean Malik Show on WWDB 860AM but there was a point that never made it to the table.
Fitzpatrick defended his July 16 vote for the Democrats’ politically motivated H Res 489 titled Condemning President Trump’s Racist Comments Directed at Members of Congress.
He said he thought the greatest issue facing the country was the tenor of political discourse.
So he goes along with calling the President a racist.
Go figure.
For what it’s worth, he said he didn’t think President Trump is a racist.
He’s just apparently OK with saying he uses racist language.
Go figure.
Congressman, if you are sincere about wanting to “tone down” discourse start condemning those who use the word “racist” as a political attack.
Insist that “racist” and “racism” be consistently and specifically defined so the evil that the word should describe is not diluted. Racism is not mere bigotry or prejudice or disagreement but a belief that certain ethnicities should have lesser or no civil liberty.
Telling an ingrate to love it or leave America is not racism — or even prejudice — regardless of the color of the skin of ingrate. Calling someone a racist for confronting an ingrate is craven and despicable. Failing to confront someone making such an accusation is cowardice.
The biggest threat, Congressman, is the division caused by identity politics. The Founding Fathers knew this hence our national motto “Out of Many One“.
Or another way of saying it and hopefully triggering the right type of people: Where we go one, we go all.

Fitzpatrick Appearing On Malik Show — Dean Malik has posted that Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Pa1)will be appearing on his show today (July 19) which airs noon on WWDB 860 AM.
Fitzpatrick was one of the few Republicans who voted to condemn President Trump’s remarks criticizing hateful anti-American statements by Democrat congresswomen.
The show is hosted by Malik and Don Beishl Fr. Also on the show will be noted journalist Stu Bykofsky, who had a long career with The Philadelphia Daily News; Stan Casacio, about his run for Montgomery County Controller; Billy Ciancaglini, the Republican candidate for Mayor of Philadelphia, and Bill Lawrence of BillLawrenceOnline.com.

Igor Kenk William Lawrence Sr Omnibit 7-18-19
Igor Kenk of Toronto is said to be the greatest bicycle thief.
When he was arrested in 2008, he had 2,865 bikes stashed in his bike shop and in various warehouses.
His method was to point out the bikes he wanted stolen to a mentally ill accomplice who he paid with drugs.
Kenk, before his arrest, was considered an intellectual and hung out with the classical music crowd.

HB 1410 Weakens Budget Oversight

Pennsylvania’s annual budget process is ripe with problems. Members of the General Assembly are typically given a day to review hundreds of pages of proposed spending, and accounting gimmicks hide the size of spending increases. One of the tricks used to disguise spending is the use of “special funds.” Special Funds frequently become part of the shadow budget with minimal accountability over the spending. One bill gaining traction is the House would add to the problem. HB1410 purports to address a vacated military base that has polluted the water system for the surrounding area.
HB 1410 establishes a Keystone Opportunity Zone around the “qualified former Military Installation.” It allows the municipality to establish a “qualified authority” to fund military installation remediation. The legislation provides a formula to collect a percentage of taxes (CNI, Sales & Use, Personal Income Tax, Realty Transfer Tax, & Local Taxes,) to fund the authority.
HB 1410 directs the State Treasurer to create a new Special Fund known as the Military Installation Remediation Fund to collect monies. Note that the Commonwealth has 36 environment-related special funds. Specifically, Pennsylvania has a safe drinking water special fund, an industrial sites cleanup fund, and a hazardous sites cleanup fund. Any or all of those funds could be utilized for a remediation project such as this if authorizing legislation was passed to allow qualified former military installation projects to be eligible for the monies in these various special funds.
Finally, HB 1410 directing the State Treasurer to establish restricted accounts within the special fund for each qualified former military installation. The funding can be used for funding transportation infrastructure, economic development costs, payment of debt service for construction, infrastructure, site preparation, etc. In other words, it can become a slush fund for pet projects. Raising additional concerns is the provision that allows the State Representative and Senator in that municipality, or an adjacent one, to serve as a board member of the established authority. The Representative who introduced the legislation, Todd Stephens, just so happens to meet the qualifications to sit on the board.
HB 1410 addresses a problem with questionable methods, and grants the board, and potentially select members of the General Assembly, overly broad discretion in what projects to fund. It runs the risk of becoming one more shadow budget item.
