Delco Poll Works Quized On Fed Troops Arriving — Delaware County (Pa) poll workers were tested on how to handle federal troops showing up at the precinct.
Poll workers must take take a test each election if they want to extend their payment to $240 for their 14-hour-plus day.
Hey, $17 per hour beats being a Walmart greeter.
Well, by $3.
For entry level, anyway.
The question on the test is true/false and reads: If federal troops arrive at polling location, Poll Workers should complete a Statement of Complaint form and text a photo of the form to the Poll Worker Coordinator number listed in the Election Day Guide.
The answer is, sensibly, true.
But why even ask the question?
The test is a county chore and the Democrats who run Delco are paranoid and/or projecting.
They could have and should have done many easy — as in no-brainer — things to create trust in how elections here are handled.
The biggest red flag would be the easy fix if things were honest.
Many requests for mundane Delco election records have been sought under the state Open Records Law, especially business correspondence with ballot printer Fort Orange Press of Albany, N.Y.
The county refused.
Hey, maybe there was a logical reason.
But the filer, Rob Mancini of Media, appealed tot he state Office of Open Records.
Absolutely, these were public records the office ruled.
Let them be seen.
The county again refused, appealed to the county courts who smirked and said they must remain secret.
And this is just one big reason why Delco’s elections are not trusted.
Maybe the federal troops might have a good reason to show up.
