Democrats Love The Poor Which Is Why . . .

Democrats Love The Poor Which Is Why . . . — The Democrat Party loves the poor which is why it works so hard to create so many.

The price of oil is marching to $100 per barrel and the “party of compassion” bends over backwards to keep new drilling from occurring on American territory leaving the matter as almost the exclusive privilege of Islamic and socialist dictators.

“Climate change” regulations are estimated to be costing this country $10.6 million per day despite it becoming more and more evident the “climate change” crisis is a despicable hoax .

Meanwhile, construction of non-CO2-emitting nuclear power plants are stopped by Democrats while they advance the destruction of non-CO2-emitting hydro-electric dams.

Under health care “reform” the cost of health insurance is skyrocketing and Medicare is being cut .

The Democrat Party leaders love the poor so much they want us all to be poor.

Themselves excepted, of course.

On a definitely related matter, wealthy New York Times columnist and Nobel Prize winning economist Paul Krugman, Thursday, wrote this article in which he said America was divided between greedy conservatives who don’t want to be taxed to help the poor and the enlightened ones such as himself.

He has it completely bassackwards. It’s the conservatives who give to charity and the vast majority of them do not have a problem with a social safety net.

It’s just they wonder why things like state tax dollars are used to fund propaganda like Democracy Now on Mind-TV.

It’s just that they wonder how exactly are tax-supported ACORN and Planned Parenthood part of a social safety net.

It’s that they wonder why Social Security has run a surplus for decades which is used to fund pensions, health plans and salaries for bureaucrats far, far, far more generous than those of the Social Security recipients.

And of course they wonder how a person who could make such a unsophisticated, ill-reasoned claim actually get a Nobel Prize.

OK, never mind on that last point.

Democrats Love The Poor

Kind Republicans, Greedy Dems

Kind Republicans, Greedy Dems — Thinking Americans have long known that those inclined to vote Republican are far, far, far more generous in giving to charities than those who vote Democrat.

Unthinking Americans, of course, don’t believe this. Of course, unthinking Americans are the ones who vote Democrat.

Conservatives give about 30 percent more in charities than the self-righteous, self-centered “progressives” if you should not feel like clicking on the above link to the source.

This is most glaring in their political leaders. Gigolo John Kerry is known for having a year in which he did not make a charitable contribution and the Obamas, Joe Biden and Al Gore are also known for being notably stingy, unlike the Bushes or even Rush Limbaugh.

Charitable giving is going to be the subject of tonight’s Stossel which airs at 9 and midnight on Fox Business Channel.

On a related note, Democrats are far more likely to believe in extraterrestrials than Republicans . If ET does show up, however, expect it to be a conservative Tea Party guy who lends him the phone to make that call.

Al Gore-Connected Hate Church Coming To Philly

The Westboro Baptist Church which has become infamous for its unChristian, hate-based protests of military funerals and prominent people is bringing its barrel of Christmas bile to the shores of the Delaware Dec. 20.

Allegedly anyway. It claimed it would hold a protest outside Temple University in April but never showed up.

The scheduled protests are to occur outside Father Judge and Archbishop Ryan high schools, and the Jewish Community Center, at Broad and Lombard streets in Center City.

According to rantings on the cult’s website the protests outside the Catholic high schools are somehow related to the priest sex-abuse scandals.

And the one at the Jewish Community Center? Who knows?

The Phelps family, which leads and makes up most of the congregants of the Kansas-based Westboro cult, has been prominent in that state’s Democrat Party.

Fred Phelps Jr. — who is the son of the founder and a member of the cult —  hosted Al Gore
at his home for a fundraiser and was a Gore delegate to the 1988
Democratic National Convention.

Dem Party Guy Cops Plea Gets Break

Dem Party Guy Cops Plea Gets Break — State Rep. Paul Costa is a party leader whether it be in the Democrat caucus in Harrisburg or in the parking lot before a Pittsburgh Steelers game.

Costa, who has represented the 34th District since 1999 and who had chaired the House Subcommittee on Licensing as a member of the House Committee of Liquor Control during the just-ended Democrat majority, pleaded guilty, Nov. 24, to disorderly conduct stemming from his  Oct. 3 arrest for an incident in the parking lot of Clark Bar & Grill before the Steelers-Ravens game.

Costa was caught passing around a doobie.

In return for the guilty plea, misdemeanor drug charges were dismissed, a nice break since disorderly conduct is a no-record summary offense, whereas a record of a misdemeanor would create difficulties if he should want to do something such as, say, get a liquor license .

Costa paid a $50 fine plus $137 in court costs.

In fairness, minor marijuana arrests are more often than not handled this way in the state.

Costa is 50 years old.

Dude!

Musto Indicted For Bribery

Musto Indicted For Bribery — A federal grand jury, this morning,  indicated Pennsylvania State Sen. Raphael “Ray” Musto for taking thousands of dollars in money and services in bribes and kickbacks.

Musto , a Democrat, has represented the 14th District since 1982. He did not seek re-election this year.  Musto is facing six charges including  bribery and making false statements to the FBI.

The bribery occurred between 2005 and 2010.

At a  2 p.m. press conference, U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Pennsylvania Peter J. Smith said Musto purposefully concealed money and gifts failing to report them on appropriate statements of financial interest.

Musto served in congress in 1980 replacing the legendary Dan Flood to represent the 11th Congressional District winning a special election caused by Flood’s resignation after being censured for bribery.  Musto, however, later that year narrowly lost  to Republican James Nelligan for an election to a full term.

Lincoln Professor Kaukab Siddique And Antisemitism

Comments made at a Sept. 3 rally in Washington D.C. that were recorded then aired by the Christian Broadcasting Network are coming back to haunt Lincoln University professor Kaukab Siddique along with old emails dug by CBN investigative journalists.

At the rally, Siddique, who teaches English, literature and journalism, said “We must stand united to defeat, to destroy, to dismantle Israel, if possible by peaceful means. Perhaps, like Saladin, we will give them enough food and water to travel back to the lands from where they came to occupy other people.”

In the email exchanges Siddique was found to have said “The Holocaust is a hoax. Get over it.” and that there is “not one document to prove it happened.”

CBN says the record of Siddique’s hatred for Jews goes back at least a dozen years.

Lincoln in Oxford, Chester County, is the nation’s first degree-granting black college. Alumni include Thurgood Marshall, Langston Hughes and Cab Calloway. It is  part of Pennsylvania’s Commonwealth System of Higher Education along with Penn State, Temple and the University of Pittsburgh. These schools are independent of state management but still receive public money, which in Lincoln’s case is about $14 million per year.

Two state senators who represent parts of Delaware County, Daylin Leach of the 17th District and Anthony H. Williams of the 8th District , both Democrats, have written a letter to Lincoln University President Ivory V. Nelson expressing concern about the bizarre, hate-filled statements and noting that while “you are entitled to your own opinions, but you are not entitled to your own facts.”

They pointed out that the state has a no-tolerance policy regarding hate speech for state-supported institutions and  demanded to know the level of awareness held by Lincoln’s administration regarding Siddique’s comments and what steps the school was taking to keep Siddique from teaching false claims to his students.

Lincoln answered that Siddique has not made such claims to his students and that tenure keeps him from being fired.

The strange and sad thing is that one suspects that most Jews in Siddique’s home state of Maryland on Tuesday voted for the same candidates as Siddique did.

Woodrow Wilson, Democrat Hero

Judith McGrane of Springfield submitted this about women demonstrating for the right to vote outside the White House were treated in 1917 by President Woodrow Wilson.

Remember, it was not until 1920 that women were granted the right to go to the polls and vote. The women were innocent and defenseless, but they were jailed nonetheless for picketing the White House, carrying signs asking for the vote. And by the end of the night, they were barely alive. Forty prison guards wielding clubs and their warden’s blessing went on a rampage against the 33 women wrongly convicted of ‘obstructing sidewalk traffic.’

They beat Lucy Burns, chained her hands to the cell bars above her head and left her hanging for the night, bleeding and gasping for air.
They hurled Dora Lewis into a dark cell, smashed her head against an iron bed and knocked her out cold. Her cellmate,

Alice Cosu, thought Lewis was dead and suffered a heart attack. Additional affidavits describe the guards grabbing, dragging, beating, choking, slamming, pinching, twisting and kicking the women.

Thus unfolded the ‘Night of Terror’ on Nov. 15, 1917, when the warden at the Occoquan Workhouse in Virginia ordered his guards to teach a lesson to the suffragists imprisoned there because they dared to picket Woodrow Wilson’s White House for the right to vote.

For weeks, the women’s only water came from an open pail. Their food, all of it colorless slop, was infested with worms.
When one of the leaders, Alice Paul, embarked on a hunger strike, they tied her to a chair, forced a tube down her throat and poured liquid into her until she vomited. She was tortured like this for weeks until word was smuggled out to the press.

The above is from an email that has been circulating around the internet for some time. Snopes rates it as true.

What makes this especially interesting is that Woodrow Wilson, the man who gave us the income tax and Federal Reserve Board, is almost deified by progressive liberals. Wilson was a Democrat albeit not of the Jefferson-Jackson mold. He was an academic who at one time taught at Bryn Mawr College. He made his bones as president of Princeton University from where he was elected governor of New Jersey in 1910 followed by his election to the presidency in 1912 beating a divided Republican Party.

Wilson sympathies lay with the Jim Crow south and he was baldy racist. He segregated federal office buildings for the first time, praised the Ku Klux Klan and told a delegation of blacks objecting to his policies  “segregation is not a humiliation but a benefit, and ought to be so regarded by you gentlemen .”

In other words, he was a typical, manipulative progressive, liberal, big-government Democrat.

To Speak The Unspeakable About Democrats

Former Philadelphia Eagles lineman and  current Republican candidate for congress Jon Runyan gave a brutally blunt statement after it was affirmed that the Democrat Party was behind placing a “NJ Tea Party” candidate in his New Jersey 3rd District race.

“It’s out of frustration that politics in our country has become so
toxic that the important issues we face have to take a backseat to
garbage like this,” Runyan said. “My opponent, John Adler, represents everything that is wrong with politics in this country today. He is dishonest. He lacks principle. And he’s clearly willing to say or do anything to win re-election and cling to power. The fact that he and his team would intentionally try to defraud and
disenfranchise voters by planting a fake candidate in the race with the
intention of confusing people and stealing votes from me is disgraceful.”

Shout it out, Mr. Runyan.

It’s clearer than ever that the Democrat Party is no longer about issues — “looking out for the little guy”, as they like to claim — but about power.

The stunt pulled in NJ3 was done in Pennsylvania’s 7th District , and was baldly, and unsuccessfully attempted in Pa. 8.

Even more cravenly in Pa7 was an expensive yet laughable attempt by the Bryan Lentz campaign to knock Republican Pat Meehan off the ballot using a legal ploy. See Dem Fails In Strange Attempt To Stop A Congressional Election .

Opacity and manipulation are now the rule of the Democrat politics rather than clarity. The leadership of the party is infused with a moral self-righteous certainty that makes them near incapable of believing themselves able to do wrong.

What’s especially troubling is the frequency of frivolous criminal investigations against Republican leaders that are brought with much publicity in the midst of an election season. This happened with Curt Weldon — again in Pa7– in 2006, and against Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens in 2008. One cannot overemphasize frivolous. In the case of Weldon, neither he nor those whose homes and offices were searched three weeks before election day were ever charged with anything .

Someone will point out that it was Bush that ran the Justice Department during this time. Someone else might point out that it was only Republicans on the short end of these frivolous pre-election investigations.

Do Republicans ever play dirty pool? Sure, but never so shamelessly and always with the expectation of punishment by their constituents if they should ever be caught. Just look at the 2006 and 2008 elections and the rise of the Tea Party Movement.  PaCleanSweep  started by Russ Diamond that was so influential in changing Pennsylvania’s political landscape in 2006 basically consisted of Republican-inclined voters.

May Democrat-inclined voters learn to be independent thinkers as well.

No Bro List Used By NJ Dems?

Here’s a story you haven’t read in the Philadelphia Inquirer, children, or seen on the network news.

A New Jersey Democrat worker has filed a federal lawsuit charging the 2008 campaigns of Sen. Frank Lautenberg and Congressman Rush Holt, whose 12th District  includes Princeton University, with racial discrimination.

Christopher Nastuk was a canvass director for the Lautenberg campaign and his job was to find workers to go door-to-door to get out the vote. Among those hired by Nastuk were about a dozen blacks. This didn’t sit well with his enlightened bosses, who fired them a few days later and replaced with white workers whose names were distributed via email in a text document named  “no bro lists”

Nastuk was told that such workers were “demographically undesirable” in the white neighborhoods being targeted, and that he must not use people who used words like“yo, yo, yo“. Nastuk complained and was fired himself.

Attorneys for the defendants say “no bro lists” meant “North Brunswick” and the lawsuit is politically motivated.

Nastuk, a 44-year-old actor and life-long Democrat, denies this. He said he thought hard about taking action but in the end decided he had to do what was right. He is joined in the suit by Chauntay Jenkins, one of the fired workers.

Now, if the charges are true as one suspects they are one can understand where Lautenberg and Holt are coming from.  Most white Democrats are racist. Just look at the policies of the Philadelphia trade unions.

But wouldn’t white Republicans act the same way? One would grant that if a black fellow came to the door going “yo, yo, yo” and wearing gold chains, the door would likely be slammed in his face.

OTOH, if this black was neatly dressed and polite and said “we need you to vote next Tuesday,” the white Republican would be far more likely to fall to his knees and say “Thank God, the blacks are FINALLY wising up.”

Greg Skrepenak and His Luzerne County Crucifixion

Greg Skrepenak and His Luzerne County Crucifixion
Greg Skrepenak was warmly greeted when he appeared Sunday, two days after his sentencing, at the Festival and Flea Market at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Wilkes Barre. Parishioners offered him sympathy and support, and many expressed disgust at some of the things being said about him. With him is parish priest Father James Hayer.

The holy and sainted Democrats who run Pennsylvania’s Luzerne County drafted local sports legend and political neophyte Greg Skrepenak to run for county commissioner in 2003. He easily won as expected and was promptly named chairman of the board.

Skrepenak, known in the area as Skrep, won All-American honors in football and basketball at Wilkes Barre’s G.A.R. Memorial Junior Senior High School in the 1980s and was an MVP in baseball. Skrep went on to the University of Michigan were he became an All-American offensive lineman and was the Gator Bowl MVP in 1991. He went on to a respectable pro career with the Los Angeles and Oakland Raiders and the Carolina Panthers.

Skrep’s life was not a bed of roses, however. Personal issues led to his retirement from football. His wife had become addicted to drugs and he was raising by himself his daughter and two sons.

Skrep as commissioner did as he was told and in return was given rein to indulge his dreams of expanding services to those with drug problems and youth at risk.  He ran for re-election in 2007 and again easily won.

Maybe the most damning thing Skrep  did in his tenure as Democrat Party puppet was vote to use private detention centers for juveniles. These centers were paid on a per prisoner basis. This resulted in horrifying abuse. Kids who committed rather minor offenses were ordered incarcerated by judges who received kickbacks. Anyway, the sin was not the vote, as dumb as it may have been in hindsight, but the kickbacks and Skrep has not been connected to them in the slightest.

What Skrep was connected to was taking a $5,000 discount from the fellow who was building his condo, a fellow who then at Skrep’s behest received some sweet tax breaks from the county. Skrep initially denied seeing anything wrong in this. He thought the discount was due to friendship and said he would have pushed for a tax break for the fellow anyway because, well, he was his friend. Those who know him believe him. Skrep could safely be described as the dream commissioner for a Luzerne County party boss.

Anyway, a hungry federal prosecutor couldn’t resist such an easy chance to put a new head on the wall and Skrep was charged with bribery, a charge to which he would eventually plead guilty.

With the big man safely down, the local media jumped on him with both feet. Every word he uttered in his defense was questioned. His children were ridiculed. The references to his religion he made during his apology at his sentencing were mercilessly mocked.

U.S. District Judge Richard P. Conaboy gave him 24 months and those who leech pleasure from others’ pain gave themselves pats on the back.

Oh, if only Skrep had been a billionaire pedophile like Jeff Epstein for whom our courageous men and women in federal law enforcement managed to also get a two-year sentence. Then Skrep could have daily furloughs to his office for his first year and serve his second year under house arrest.

But the feds have their priorities, one guesses.
