Woodrow Wilson, Democrat Hero

Judith McGrane of Springfield submitted this about women demonstrating for the right to vote outside the White House were treated in 1917 by President Woodrow Wilson.

Remember, it was not until 1920 that women were granted the right to go to the polls and vote. The women were innocent and defenseless, but they were jailed nonetheless for picketing the White House, carrying signs asking for the vote. And by the end of the night, they were barely alive. Forty prison guards wielding clubs and their warden’s blessing went on a rampage against the 33 women wrongly convicted of ‘obstructing sidewalk traffic.’

They beat Lucy Burns, chained her hands to the cell bars above her head and left her hanging for the night, bleeding and gasping for air.
They hurled Dora Lewis into a dark cell, smashed her head against an iron bed and knocked her out cold. Her cellmate,

Alice Cosu, thought Lewis was dead and suffered a heart attack. Additional affidavits describe the guards grabbing, dragging, beating, choking, slamming, pinching, twisting and kicking the women.

Thus unfolded the ‘Night of Terror’ on Nov. 15, 1917, when the warden at the Occoquan Workhouse in Virginia ordered his guards to teach a lesson to the suffragists imprisoned there because they dared to picket Woodrow Wilson’s White House for the right to vote.

For weeks, the women’s only water came from an open pail. Their food, all of it colorless slop, was infested with worms.
When one of the leaders, Alice Paul, embarked on a hunger strike, they tied her to a chair, forced a tube down her throat and poured liquid into her until she vomited. She was tortured like this for weeks until word was smuggled out to the press.

The above is from an email that has been circulating around the internet for some time. Snopes rates it as true.

What makes this especially interesting is that Woodrow Wilson, the man who gave us the income tax and Federal Reserve Board, is almost deified by progressive liberals. Wilson was a Democrat albeit not of the Jefferson-Jackson mold. He was an academic who at one time taught at Bryn Mawr College. He made his bones as president of Princeton University from where he was elected governor of New Jersey in 1910 followed by his election to the presidency in 1912 beating a divided Republican Party.

Wilson sympathies lay with the Jim Crow south and he was baldy racist. He segregated federal office buildings for the first time, praised the Ku Klux Klan and told a delegation of blacks objecting to his policies  “segregation is not a humiliation but a benefit, and ought to be so regarded by you gentlemen .”

In other words, he was a typical, manipulative progressive, liberal, big-government Democrat.

To Speak The Unspeakable About Democrats

Former Philadelphia Eagles lineman and  current Republican candidate for congress Jon Runyan gave a brutally blunt statement after it was affirmed that the Democrat Party was behind placing a “NJ Tea Party” candidate in his New Jersey 3rd District race.

“It’s out of frustration that politics in our country has become so
toxic that the important issues we face have to take a backseat to
garbage like this,” Runyan said. “My opponent, John Adler, represents everything that is wrong with politics in this country today. He is dishonest. He lacks principle. And he’s clearly willing to say or do anything to win re-election and cling to power. The fact that he and his team would intentionally try to defraud and
disenfranchise voters by planting a fake candidate in the race with the
intention of confusing people and stealing votes from me is disgraceful.”

Shout it out, Mr. Runyan.

It’s clearer than ever that the Democrat Party is no longer about issues — “looking out for the little guy”, as they like to claim — but about power.

The stunt pulled in NJ3 was done in Pennsylvania’s 7th District , and was baldly, and unsuccessfully attempted in Pa. 8.

Even more cravenly in Pa7 was an expensive yet laughable attempt by the Bryan Lentz campaign to knock Republican Pat Meehan off the ballot using a legal ploy. See Dem Fails In Strange Attempt To Stop A Congressional Election .

Opacity and manipulation are now the rule of the Democrat politics rather than clarity. The leadership of the party is infused with a moral self-righteous certainty that makes them near incapable of believing themselves able to do wrong.

What’s especially troubling is the frequency of frivolous criminal investigations against Republican leaders that are brought with much publicity in the midst of an election season. This happened with Curt Weldon — again in Pa7– in 2006, and against Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens in 2008. One cannot overemphasize frivolous. In the case of Weldon, neither he nor those whose homes and offices were searched three weeks before election day were ever charged with anything .

Someone will point out that it was Bush that ran the Justice Department during this time. Someone else might point out that it was only Republicans on the short end of these frivolous pre-election investigations.

Do Republicans ever play dirty pool? Sure, but never so shamelessly and always with the expectation of punishment by their constituents if they should ever be caught. Just look at the 2006 and 2008 elections and the rise of the Tea Party Movement.  PaCleanSweep  started by Russ Diamond that was so influential in changing Pennsylvania’s political landscape in 2006 basically consisted of Republican-inclined voters.

May Democrat-inclined voters learn to be independent thinkers as well.

No Bro List Used By NJ Dems?

Here’s a story you haven’t read in the Philadelphia Inquirer, children, or seen on the network news.

A New Jersey Democrat worker has filed a federal lawsuit charging the 2008 campaigns of Sen. Frank Lautenberg and Congressman Rush Holt, whose 12th District  includes Princeton University, with racial discrimination.

Christopher Nastuk was a canvass director for the Lautenberg campaign and his job was to find workers to go door-to-door to get out the vote. Among those hired by Nastuk were about a dozen blacks. This didn’t sit well with his enlightened bosses, who fired them a few days later and replaced with white workers whose names were distributed via email in a text document named  “no bro lists”

Nastuk was told that such workers were “demographically undesirable” in the white neighborhoods being targeted, and that he must not use people who used words like“yo, yo, yo“. Nastuk complained and was fired himself.

Attorneys for the defendants say “no bro lists” meant “North Brunswick” and the lawsuit is politically motivated.

Nastuk, a 44-year-old actor and life-long Democrat, denies this. He said he thought hard about taking action but in the end decided he had to do what was right. He is joined in the suit by Chauntay Jenkins, one of the fired workers.

Now, if the charges are true as one suspects they are one can understand where Lautenberg and Holt are coming from.  Most white Democrats are racist. Just look at the policies of the Philadelphia trade unions.

But wouldn’t white Republicans act the same way? One would grant that if a black fellow came to the door going “yo, yo, yo” and wearing gold chains, the door would likely be slammed in his face.

OTOH, if this black was neatly dressed and polite and said “we need you to vote next Tuesday,” the white Republican would be far more likely to fall to his knees and say “Thank God, the blacks are FINALLY wising up.”

Greg Skrepenak and His Luzerne County Crucifixion

Greg Skrepenak and His Luzerne County Crucifixion
Greg Skrepenak was warmly greeted when he appeared Sunday, two days after his sentencing, at the Festival and Flea Market at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Wilkes Barre. Parishioners offered him sympathy and support, and many expressed disgust at some of the things being said about him. With him is parish priest Father James Hayer.

The holy and sainted Democrats who run Pennsylvania’s Luzerne County drafted local sports legend and political neophyte Greg Skrepenak to run for county commissioner in 2003. He easily won as expected and was promptly named chairman of the board.

Skrepenak, known in the area as Skrep, won All-American honors in football and basketball at Wilkes Barre’s G.A.R. Memorial Junior Senior High School in the 1980s and was an MVP in baseball. Skrep went on to the University of Michigan were he became an All-American offensive lineman and was the Gator Bowl MVP in 1991. He went on to a respectable pro career with the Los Angeles and Oakland Raiders and the Carolina Panthers.

Skrep’s life was not a bed of roses, however. Personal issues led to his retirement from football. His wife had become addicted to drugs and he was raising by himself his daughter and two sons.

Skrep as commissioner did as he was told and in return was given rein to indulge his dreams of expanding services to those with drug problems and youth at risk.  He ran for re-election in 2007 and again easily won.

Maybe the most damning thing Skrep  did in his tenure as Democrat Party puppet was vote to use private detention centers for juveniles. These centers were paid on a per prisoner basis. This resulted in horrifying abuse. Kids who committed rather minor offenses were ordered incarcerated by judges who received kickbacks. Anyway, the sin was not the vote, as dumb as it may have been in hindsight, but the kickbacks and Skrep has not been connected to them in the slightest.

What Skrep was connected to was taking a $5,000 discount from the fellow who was building his condo, a fellow who then at Skrep’s behest received some sweet tax breaks from the county. Skrep initially denied seeing anything wrong in this. He thought the discount was due to friendship and said he would have pushed for a tax break for the fellow anyway because, well, he was his friend. Those who know him believe him. Skrep could safely be described as the dream commissioner for a Luzerne County party boss.

Anyway, a hungry federal prosecutor couldn’t resist such an easy chance to put a new head on the wall and Skrep was charged with bribery, a charge to which he would eventually plead guilty.

With the big man safely down, the local media jumped on him with both feet. Every word he uttered in his defense was questioned. His children were ridiculed. The references to his religion he made during his apology at his sentencing were mercilessly mocked.

U.S. District Judge Richard P. Conaboy gave him 24 months and those who leech pleasure from others’ pain gave themselves pats on the back.

Oh, if only Skrep had been a billionaire pedophile like Jeff Epstein for whom our courageous men and women in federal law enforcement managed to also get a two-year sentence. Then Skrep could have daily furloughs to his office for his first year and serve his second year under house arrest.

But the feds have their priorities, one guesses.

Senator Williams School Choice Bill

Senator Williams School Choice Bill — Sen. Anthony Hardy Williams , the Democrat whose 8th District includes a large swath of southeastern Delaware County, introduced to little fanfare last month a bill in Harrisburg that would pay the private school tuition of poor kids in crappy school districts.

SB 1405 — cosponsored by Republicans Stewart Greenleaf (12 ), Donald White (41) and Mike Folmer (48) — would provide children living in a district with at least one “chronically failing school” scholarships if their families have a low enough income. The value of the scholarships would be the state per-pupil  aid plus half of the district per-pupil aid times the household income ratio which would be between 1 and .5.

“Chronically failing school” is specified in the bill as is the family income level. Two districts to which this would obviously apply are Philadelphia and Chester.

So kudos to Sen. Williams for taking on some of the evil that so horribly corrupts his party. For the Democrats to once again be respectable, the party is going to have to condemn and disassociate themselves from the vile groups that have so much sway over their agenda — and the anti-choice, anti-child National Education Association is among them — just as they once had to disassociate themselves from the Ku Klux Klan.

Jeff Epstein Iranian Pilgrims, Soulmates

Jeff Epstein Iranian Pilgrims, Soulmates — Pilgrims to the Imam Reza Shrine — one of Iran’s biggest tourist centers — are getting a special holy offer according to Planet-Iran .com, which is a website devoted to translating news and documents from Persian to English and letting the rest of us see for ourselves the bizarre world of the ayatollahs.

The document, dated July 18, offers, well, temporary marriages since “Marriage is among the traditions of the Prophet Mohammad” according to the Shrine’s “Bureau of Temporary Marriages”.

The temporary “marriages” are to females between the ages of  “12 and 35” and range in time from five hours to a whole 10 days. The shrinekeepers, of course, responsibly warn that for “sisters who are below 14 years of age, a written consent from their fathers or male guardians is required.”

Now, before you start reacting in rage and horror to this practice — especially if you should happen to be a Democrat voter — you ought to be aware of another recent event that you probably missed in the dino media.

Hedge-fund billionaire Jeff  Epstein became a free man earlier this month after serving an  25-month sentence in Palm Beach, Fla. for his  guilty plea  for “solicitation  prostitution”  and “soliciting a minor child for prostitution” which are state crimes. Michael Reiter, the man who was the police chief of Palm Beach during the investigation, was among those outraged at the deal since  what Epstein had been accused of was numerous sexual encounters with minor girls some of whom he imported from overseas including a trio of 12-year-olds from France. The federal  Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000 demands a minimum sentence of 20 years for such things.

The feds, however, touched this case in the manner of a limo liberal removing a Baby Ruth candy bar from a country-club pool. That Jeff Epstein was close friends with and a major donor to Bill Clinton and a pre-disgraced Eliot Spitzer, and had gathered a legal team that included Alan Dershowitz, Roy Black and Kenneth Starr was merely incorrupt happenstance.

Sure.

That 25-month sentence, btw, included 12 months of house (mansion) arrest and 13 months in the county jail from which he was allowed to take daily field trips to his office.

Anyway, here’s a link to the Planet-Iran page containing the shrinekeepers’ offer in Persian if you should so desire to translate it yourself, and below will be the complete text in English.

And before you start hating the people of Iran — as many Arab Muslims do — know that those brave folk are in a near rebellion against their corrupt state, which is something else that is not being widely reported by the dinosaurs. The shopkeepers in the major bazaars continue their risky strikes and two major acts of sabotage have been made against the nation’s vital fossil fuel industry.

You certainly don’t see the Democrats rebelling against their perverse and totalitarian masters.

The shrinekeepers’ offer:

Temporary Marriage (Marriage is among the traditions of the Prophet Mohammad)

In order to elevate the spiritual atmosphere, create proper psychological conditions and tranquility of mind, the Province of the Quds’eh-Razavi of Khorassan has created centers for temporary marriage (just next door to the shrine) for those brothers who are on pilgrimage to the shrine of  our eighth Imam, Imam Reza, and who are far away from their spouses.

To that end, we call on all our sisters who are virgins, who are between the ages of 12 and 35 to cooperate with us. Each of our sisters who signs up will be bound by a two year contract with the province of the Quds’eh-Razavi of Khorassan and will be required to spend at least 25 days of each month temporarily married to those brothers who are on pilgrimage. The period of the contract will be considered as a part of the employment experience of the applicant. The period of each temporary marriage can be anywhere between 5 hours to 10 days. The prices are as follows:

* 5 hour temporary marriage – 50,000 Tomans ($50 US)
* One day temporary marriage – 75,000 Tomans ($75 US)
* Two day temporary marriage – 100,000 Tomans ($100 US)
* Three day temporary marriage – 150,000 Tomans ($150 US)
* Between 4 and 10 day temporary marriage – 300,000 Tomans ($300 US)

Our sisters who are virgins will receive a bonus of 100,000 Tomans ($100 US) for the removal of their hymen .

After the expiration of the two year contract, should our sisters still be under 35 years of age and should they be so inclined, they can be added to the waiting list of those who are seeking long-term temporary marriage. The employed sisters are obligated to donate 5% of their earnings to the Shrine of Imam Reza. We ask that all the sisters who are interested in applying, to furnish two full-length photographs (fully hijabed and properly veiled), their academic diplomas, proof of their virginity and a certificate of good physical and psychological health which they can obtain through the health and human services of the township of their residence. Please forward all compiled material and send to the below address by the 31st of the month of Ordibehesht, 1389 (May 21st, 2010).

Attention: For sisters who are below 14 years of age, a written consent from their fathers or male guardian is required.

Fat Cat Democrat Angst

Fat Cat Democrat Angst — With drastic regulations looming and massive economic incompetence having been demonstrated the fat cat Democrats of Wall Street are turning off the spigot to the party of their hope and in some cases are actually giving money to Republicans, providing the Pub drinks the right kind of chardonnay and doesn’t take going to church all that seriously.

Jamie Dimon, head of J.P. Morgan Chase  gave $65,000 to theDemocratic committees in 2006 and 2008, but has given nothing this cycle. He has, however, sent a $2,000 check to Mark Kirk who is running for  Obama’s former Senate seat in Illinois. Yes, Kirk is the right kind of Republican.

Leon Black,co-founder of Apollo Global Management, along with wife, Debra, gave over $200,000 to theDemocratic committees in the last two elections. This year the Blacks have given the donkey party nada.

And Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein who ponied up $50,000 for the Dems in ’06 and ’08 has also cut off Obama, Reid and Pelosi.

So why did these barons of capitalism swoon over the party of socialism in the first place? Crony capitalism was somewhat involved — and in Blankfein’s case it actually paid off a bit — but the main reason was their loathing of those who think the reality of God is relevant to governance and lifestyle.

In other words, their desire to kill babies trumped their desire for wealth and freedom. You reap what you sow. If they would read the Bible they would know that.

Feds Call On Mr. Mellow

Agents from the FBI and IRS executed search warrants  at the home and district office of Pennsylvania Senate Democrat Leader Robert J. (Bob) Mellow yesterday.

The feds were mum on what it was about and Mellow spokeswoman Lisa Scullin said the senator is cooperating with all request.

Mellow has represented the 22nd District  since 1971.

He announced in February that he was going to retire to spend more time with his family.

Mellow’s pension is expected to be $313,000. If, however, this matter leads to a conviction for a crime in which Mellow used his position to commit theft, bribery, forgery or perjury, Mr and Mrs. Taxpayer will be off the hook.

Most would accept that voting to give yourself a $313,000 pension is a crime.

In other Pa. corruption news, Mike Veon  the Democrat who represented the 14th District in the State House from 1985 to 2006 and achieved the rank of party whip, was sentenced, yesterday, to six to 14 years for his role in Bonusgate in which tax dollars were used by incumbents in both parties, albeit mostly by the Democrats, to fund re-election campaigns.

Progressive Daylin Leach Praises Hackery

Progressive Daylin Leach Praises Hackery — State Sen. Daylin Leach whose 17th District includes Haverford and Radnor appears to be just peachy with  the practices that caused  Bonusgate.

In a column on his website Daylinsignts.com he takes issue with the report of the Grand Jury that investigated the crimes implying  the Grand Jury  could be just as easily called “The Doofus Patrol” and dismissing the anger expressed by those who after sitting through months of testimony indicted several lawmakers and staff members for taking taxpayer money to finance political campaigns. The indictments, btw, have already led to several convictions.

Among the objections in the report that trouble Sen. Leach are to the number of staffers employed by our legislators — there are 2,805 of them for 253 elected officials — and the pay of our legislators especially in relation to the number of days they actually work. The report notes that the base salaries for our solons is $78,314.66 excluding benefits. This package is among the highest in the nation. The report notes that the House was in session for 72 days in 2006, 115 in 2007, 72 in 20087 and 147 in 2009.

I will not insult Leach by calling him and his fellows in Harrisburg “doofuses” but I will point out that the simple change of a single letter in his name would give him the perfect moniker for the job and lifestyle for which he so strongly fights.

Leach, a Democrat, touts the “power of progressive thinking” on his website. Progressives are the most materialistic, money-worshiping people on the planet. It is their  tenet that all can be solved by the dollar. They really think that we can’t get competent, honest people to serve as our lawmakers for what New Hampshire pays , and just as delusionally think Pennsylvania is better run.

Race, Libertarians And Democrats

Race, Libertarians And Democrats — Rand Paul, who is the GOP senatorial nominee for Kentucky and the son of America’s most famous libertarian, said on Rachel Maddow’s MSNBC show that  business should be allowed to discriminate with regard to how they serve customers which is something prohibited by the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Section II ).

While he also defended the landmark law in general terms and condemned racial discrimination he was raked over the coals by the wolves who run the establishment media for the sake of the sheep.

Here is something to ponder: throughout America’s history every ethnic group faced discrimination from those on top at the time. This is true of the Irish, the Italians, the Swedes, the Eastern Europeans (upon who was bestowed the slur “honky”,  and, in fact, if you go back far enough was the inspiration for the word “slave”), Japanese, Chinese, Cubans and even the Germans.

All of course persevered and eventually prospered in the face of the bigots in business.

So what made the black experience different? The answer is government. Laws were passed to require that restaurants and hotels and buses have separate accommodations for blacks and whites. Officers of the law ignored with impunity crimes committed against blacks, and even at times joined in their commission. Agents of the state conspired to keep blacks from exercising their votes much less their rights to speak and lobby, often by sanctioning terror.

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was progress in that it ended these things, but what if it stopped short of prohibiting business owners to be bigots? Maybe blacks would end up with the same stature in small business that they enjoy in professional sports and entertainment which were never really subject to civil rights legal action. Does it occur to anyone that businesses that refuse customers don’t survive?

Something else to ponder: the group that imposed the government oppression of blacks was not the libertarians.

It was the authoritarian, anti-business, big government Democrats. And don’t think those Democrats were just  disgruntled Confederates from the 19th Century.

Progressive hero Woodrow Wilson — the Democrat who gave us the income tax, the IRS and Federal Reserve Board — turned Washington D.C. from a racially integrated city in 1913 to a racially segregated, Jim Crow town.

Fitz Hollings,  the Democrat senator from South Carolina and ally of Bill Clinton, was the one who who started flying the Confederae battle flag over South Carolina’s Capitol to protest the civil rights movement in 1962.

Robert Bryd’s support was integral to the government take over of health care in March. The Democrat senator from West Virginia and one-time Senate Majority leader was once a recruiter for the Ku Klux Klan.

It was Democratic mayors, governors and police chiefs that turned firehoses and police dogs on civil rights marchers in the 1950s and 1960s.

If the Rand Pauls of the world ran things Jim Crow would never have existed, and if they ran things in 1964 Jim Crow  would have ended with a lot less turmoil and heartache, and blacks and whites today would be about as divided as Italians and WASPs are today.
