Change Starts With Committee Seats, Delegates

Dear Editor

I watched the same Aston GOP Committee members run uncontested for the past decade or more while we lost the 161st State House, the State Senate in the 9th, the 5th Congressional District, our check and balance in the US Senate to John Fetterman, our once solid Moderate Republican County Council to Radical Progressive Democrats and now a decade of the two tyrants Tom “lockdown the state” Wolf and Josh “lockup the nuns” Shapiro.

Not to mention no less than four of them hold Township Commissioner seats. That is a full discussion for another day. The loss of services, property tax increases and the continued burden of the 1 person income tax that is supposed to keep property taxes low are met with residents overwhelmed and businesses closing, leaving or simply not arriving.

I believe Aston Township has better days ahead, I believe that because I want to serve the community that has benefited me in so many ways. Living in the township since 1985 I have spent the majority of my working years employed in Aston including eleven years at my previous job in the 7th Ward until 2018 and have worked in the 6th Ward since.

Vote for Joseph B Dychala and Wendy Ann Willauer for Aston Township Republican 7th Ward Committee Man and Committee Woman in the Pennsylvania Primary this April. Also please vote Wendy Ann Willauer for Delegate to represent Delaware County at the Republican National Convention on the same ballot.

United We Stand.

Joseph B Dychala

Pennsylvania Lincoln Dinner Gossip

Pennsylvania Lincoln Dinner Gossip — Here’s some gossip from the Pennsylvania Republican Party’s Lincoln Day Dinner, Feb. 2.

When keynote speaker Ben Carson threw a zinger at Nikki Haley, 10 state committee people stood up and left. This included Philly GOP Chairman Vince Fenerty and his table.

York County District Attorney Dave Sunday was solidly endorsed in his bid to become state attorney general. Tough break Craig Williams who reportedly is still circulating petitions.

Bucks County Chairwoman Pat Poprik anticipates strong voter turnout. It was revealed, though, that she and others in leadership are being sued by “the far right MAGA group there” over access to petition signing meetings.

Whoever could they be? Betcha they are friends of ours. Go get ’em Barry, Dawn and Andy.

There are primary battles in Bucks for delegates, committee seats and, of course, congress.

A primary battle for congress looms in Delco as well for the the 5th District seat held by Democrat Mary Gay Scanlon. It’s between Dasha Pruett and Alfie Goodwin. The Delco GOP has endorsed Alfie.

In Philly, Sam Oropeza-backed Patrick Gushue is taking on party-backed Aizaz Gill to unseat Democrat Kevin Boyle in the 172nd District State House race.

The competition is good news and shows that Pennsylvania’s GOP is far from dead.

One point of concern, however, is Montgomery County. They are short committee people and can’t find candidates for four State House seats in the eastern part of the county.

On the other hand, there is battle for the Swarthmore Western committeeman seat between Bob Small and Jim Rivello.

It is speculated that Rivello is being backed by “far right MAGA groups.”

Bob, however, is one of the excellent writers at BillLawrenceOnline.com and we hope all vote for him.

Senate candidate Dave McCormick gave an hour-long speech which was apparently well received. We are going to have trouble filling in his block, and we mean for the general election.

We like air conditioning and we don’t want crickets on our menu.

By the way, Oropeza, who just ran for Philly Council, and David Oh, who had been a long-time member of Philadelphia Council, are moving to Delco this year. They cite better schools for their kids and less crime.

Donna Ellingsen Also In Delegate Race

Donna Ellingsen Also In Delegate Race — We just heard from good friend Donna Ellingsen that she is also running for delegate for the Republican National Convention from Pennsylvania’s 6th Congressional District.

Top three vote-getters attend.

Donna won in 2020 — as did Bunny Welsh and Deborah Abel, who are also running this year — but was unable to attend due to Covid restrictions.

Also running this year is Brian Yanoviak, who is fighting for election transparency and was the 2023 GOP candidate for Chesco Recorder of Deeds.

There may be other candidates.

The election matters as the elector must be expected to stay true to the people’s choice when casting the vote for the nomination especially if it goes beyond a second round.

We are confident that the four mentioned will stay true.

AG And Congressional Candidates Attend Chesco Petition Party

AG And Congressional Candidates Attend Chesco Petition Party — Bunny Welsh hosted a meet-and-greet petition-signing party at her Chadds Ford home, last night, Jan. 31 with appearances by Republican-endorsed Attorney General candidate Dave Sunday and 6th District congressional candidate Neil Young.

The impressions both men made were great.

Sunday is the York County district attorney who refused then Attorney General Josh Shapiro’s demand to prosecute businesses that ignored the state- mandate to close during Covid.

He noted that the drug crisis is the worst in memory and blamed it on fentanyl. He said the open border allows the cartels to push it through almost at will. Sunday said that a young person was far, far, far more likely to have survived temporary stupidity with the drugs of decades past than today with fentanyl.

Regarding criminal justice, he said punishment is necessary but mercy must be included. Sunday said that only 8 percent of convicts return to prison who find work upon release. About half of those that don’t end up back behind bars.

Sunday has developed a successful job program with York County manufacturers — including Harley-Davidson — which provide decent paying jobs for former inmates.

Former Delco DA Kat Copeland has dropped out of the AG race and has endorsed Sunday. State Rep. Craig Williams, however, is still reportedly circulating petitions.

Sunday is a veteran of the US Navy.

Neil Young is a teacher who poked fun at his famous name. His issues included education and the border.

Yes, he can unseat the incumbent Democrat. The 6th District is Chester County with a portion of Berks County.

The primary election is April 23.

Mark Houck Winning Committee Votes

Mark Houck Winning Committee Votes — Mark Houck won the 7th and 10th districts yesterday, Jan. 29, in the battle for GOP endorsement for Pennsylvania’s 1st Congressional District.

The primary election is April 23.

The district is Bucks County along with eastern Montgomery County.

Incumbent Uniparty Republican Brian Fitzpatrick has held office since 2017.

In previous campaign challenges, Fitzpatrick has practically swept the endorsement races.

Houck won the 7th district 9 to 6 and the 10th district 7 to 2. He lost the 8th district 11 to 10 and the 11th district 20 to 4.

Again, though, the long-time incumbent should be overwhelmingly winning these races.

Something is in the wind.

Houck Explains Candidacy At Bucks Meet And Greet

Houck Explains Candidacy At Bucks Meet And Greet — Congressional candidate Mark Houck explained why he was running to a dozen persons at a meet-and-greet petition party at the Doylestown home of Dawn Bancroft.

Houck is seeking to replace incumbent Brian Fritzpatrick as the Republican nominee for Pennsylvania’s 1st Congressional District. The district is Bucks County and part of eastern Montgomery County.

Fitzpatrick has held office since 2017.

The primary election is April 23.

Houck’s priority is ending lawfare.

Lawfare is the use of the legal system against political opponents while letting supporters break the law at will. Examples would be 22-year sentences for Jan. 6 protestors while dropping all charges from the far more destructive attacks on the White House and its surroundings in the summer of 2020.

Or giving the guy who nearly killed Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky) just 30 days albeit that was later extended to seven months with six months home detention.

Or what happened to Houck.

Houck had long worked as a sidewalk councilor outside the Planned Parenthood Elizabeth Blackwell Health Center in Philadelphia and had always taken pains to follow federal and local laws staying 50 feet from the entrance doors. In October 2021, anti-life activist Bruce Love approached Houck’s 12-year-old son and shouted obscenities at him. Houck pushed him away. Love reported an assault to police. Local authorities felt the complaint was spurious and took no action.

Yes, even District Attorney Larry Krasner declined to press charges.

So the Biden “Justice” Department got involved and charged him with violating the FACE Act — a federal law that makes it a crime to injure, intimidate, or interfere with anyone providing abortion services.

Houck’s attorney asked for a time and place for Houck to surrender himself.

What happened next was something one would think could never happen in America.

At about 6:30 a.m., Sept. 23, 2022, FBI agents in helmets, body armor and carrying assault rifles descended on the Houck family’s rural Kintnersville home. There was loud banging on the front door and the bell ringing insistently. Houck asked who it was. FBI came the answer and Houck was ordered to open up. He could not see who they were, it should be noted.

Wonder if our brilliant feds considered how criminals can use this ploy for a home invasion. It would certainly make it less likely for a thug to have to face a homeowner with a gun.

Anyway, Houck told him he had seven babies in the house which might have been a bit of a fib as his kids were past the infant stage. It calmed down the lawmen, though, and he let them in.

His wife, Ryan-Marie, at this point was on the scene. The feds were pointing their guns at Houck and the children. Ryan-Marie demanded to see a warrant. The feds told her they didn’t need one. Houck who was in a t-shirt, shorts and flip flops asked if he could put on some clothes.

The request was refused. Houck was handcuffed in front of his kids and hauled away.

Houck said he was shackled with a belly belt and chained to a table for six hours before being released on his own recognizance.

He expected to be offered a plea deal. His attorneys, however, told them that was unlikely as the feds win 98 precent of their trials. It’s the accused that asks for the plea bargain, his attorneys said.

Houck was looking at an 11 year sentence plus fines.

Houck declined to seek a deal. As trial date approached, however, the feds shockingly offered one calling for no prison time or fines. His attorneys urged Houck to accept but he refused.

They said to talk to his wife and he agreed.

Ryan-Marie said he could take the deal but if he did he couldn’t come back.

They prayed about it. Taking the deal would set a precedent that would weaken free speech for all Americans, they realized.

Houck was going to trial.

The jury was picked. Many, if not most, had been supportive in some way of Planned Parenthood.

The trial ended Jan. 30, 2023. The jury had deliberated for but an hour before declaring not guilty.

It’s a time of miracles.

Houck was then approached by parties asking him to take on Fitzpatrick who votes with the Democrats 70 percent of the time.

He prayed about it and decided to.

Believe it or not, he’s getting support from Bucks GOP committee people. Fitzpatrick is still getting most of it but he shouldn’t be cocky.

Houck’s second issue is immigration. He said Fitzpatrick had ignored it until just a few weeks ago when Speaker Mike Johnson convinced him to visit Eagle Pass, Texas to see the crisis for himself.

Houck says that 10 improvised explosive devices have been found near the border. What about the ones that haven’t been found?

Whatever, could they be used for?

Some former high-ranking FBI agents have an idea.

Houck notes that the most immigrants that could be reasonably vetted in a year — in other words enter legally — is 500,000.

That’s about as many as came across just in the last two months.

Neither Fitzpatrick nor the Democrat seem motivated to deal with the crisis.

Regarding abortion, Houck says he will back any bill that saves lives even those including exceptions for rape, incest and life-of-the-mother.

Jason Palmer and Conscious Capitalism

Jason Palmer and Conscious Capitalism

By Bob Small

Democratic presidential candidate Jason Palmer is a proponent of “conscious capitalism”, whose tenets are higher purpose, stakeholder orientation, leadership and conscious culture.

The proponents of this philosophy believe in “elevating humanity through their efforts”, unlike regular capitalism which just believes in the elevation of one’s bank account.

What he calls “Palmer’s Pillars” are Conscious Capitalism,  People First, The New Talent Economy  and Modernizing the US Government. Under each are numerous subsections. One example found under Measure the government like a business says

This campaign and its team find it astonishing that our federal government does not track its finances according to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). We don’t even have a national Balance Sheet. Basic advances in modern accounting should be implemented so that we can compare investments to expenses and get much, much better at how we spend taxpayer money.”

Under section 6, entitled Liberation we have

“If we want to build a bright future we must acknowledge the darkness in our past”.

Under People First in the immigration subsection  says “This will require a complete rewrite of our nation’s immigration laws to be more like the laws of Australia and Canada.  “

He  states that he believes capitalism is the world’s best economic system”.

He is a proponent of the Right to Start movement which “is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that fights to expand entrepreneurial opportunity for all”.

There are more interesting ideas than we have room for here.

Joseph Michael Palmer is a 52-year old living in Baltimore.  His resume includes stints at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Kaplan Education, Microsoft, and New Markets Venture Partners.  He has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Virginia. At last count, he was on the ballot in six states.

2020 Vote Fraud Now Issue In Pennsylvania Attorney General Race

2020 Vote Fraud Now Issue In Pennsylvania Attorney General Race — State Rep. Craig Williams has made the 2020 Election an issue in this year’s Pennsylvania Attorney General race.

Williams, of Glen Mills, Delaware County, represents the 160th District, and is a former federal prosecutor.

He is running to be the Republican nominee for Pennsylvania’s A.G. against ex-Delaware County D.A. Kat Copeland and York County District Attorney Dave Sunday. The primary election is April 23.

Ms. Copeland had served in the Delaware County district attorney’s office before joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania in 2011.

She was appointed Delaware County District Attorney in 2018 to fill the remainder of Jack Whelan’s term after he was elected judge. She lost the 2019 election to Jack Stollsteimer and returned to her federal job. The guy in charge was now Bill McSwain. She became chief of the Criminal Division.

Williams X-posted a challenge to her, Saturday, Jan. 20, regarding an allegation her ex-boss made that then U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr squashed an investigation into vote fraud in the 2020 election, which would have been on Ms. Copeland’s watch.

This is the post:

@McSwainPA said he had evidence of election fraud that DOJ shut down. AG Bill Barr said that was not true. The President called McSwain a coward. Kat Copeland was Criminal Chief under McSwain, responsible for prosecuting election fraud. She owes us the truth.

Is Craig hoping to put Kat on the spot? Is this just a gambit to either make her look like a conspiracy nut or to drive a rift between her and McSwain?

Ms. Copeland should chime in, regardless. Huge numbers of Americans think our election system has become rigged and the numbers are growing.

And with reason.

University of Michigan professor and well-regarded cyber-security expert J. Alex Halderman, just this Friday, demonstrated to U.S. District Judge Amy Totenberg in Atlanta the ease at which Dominion voting machines could be hacked and tallies changed.

We’ll, also, note that McSwain never recanted claim regarding Barr nor is he the only one who has made one.

And if Craig and Kat can be persuaded to recognize that distrust in our elections is becoming a serious matter, maybe they can find time to ask why Delaware County is fighting so hard to keep its correspondence with ballot-printer Fort Orange Press a secret.

Maybe it’s just petty bureaucrats trying to show they are big deals. We certainly hope that all that it is.

James Meroney And His Lists

James Meroney and His Lists

By Bob Small

The James Meroney for President website is littered with lists.

Meroney uses after his name JD, MBA and Mdiv, the latter standing for Master of Divinity.  Among his lists are 12 each of Principles, Priorities, and Solutions. The Political Solutions section is 27 pages, and the Political Tricks section is  69.

Those two sections remain unread but the first three have some fascinating ideas.

He is the author of 12 books — available on Amazon — including one titled “Dumb as a Donkey, Fat as an Elephant”.

Here are some of his ideas from The Un-dirtying Dozen

We could consider letting the voters vote their opinions on specific legislation online (Ex.: Ross Perot’s electronic town hall idea). This would be more interactive than just public opinion polls. Voters need mechanisms to express their thoughts and have their suggestions taken more seriously—rather than one vote spun as support for all a party stands for. It might also include an electronic suggestion box

Election ballots could have a box for protesting ‘all of the above’ candidates, even if voters vote for the least offensive candidate thereafter.

We need professional (or skilled amateur) lobbyists for the common man “

From his Common Ground From Common Sense

Common sense says that if taxpayers are forced to pay for unproductive government workers, they are not rightly getting the correct bang for their hard-earned buck.

Common sense says if we keep letting (primarily) China fund our debt, we will one day become their slaves

Common sense says that there are areas of the world where evil arises and must be quelled. Whether America always needs to be the ones to fund and perform that task can be debated, but undeniably America should usually lead, but not have to pay an undue price for so leading, not in bodies or bucks.

Meroney also refers to “2-Party system God ends in Rev. 18.  Perhaps he’s referring to the line “By your magic spell all the nations were led astray”.

Vermin Supreme Again Seeks Presidency

Vermin Supreme Again Seeks Presidency

By Bob Small

Who and Why is Vermin Supreme?

Following the 2024 Lesser-Known Candidate Debate, one comes across a Vermin Supreme.

Why hadn’t one heard of him before, especially since he is in his ninth election for President, albeit never for a major Party.   He is an intentionally “satirical Candidate.” But didn’t someone else run nine times for President, and wasn’t Harold Stassen elected three times as governor of Minnesota, and  wasn’t he almost the Presidential Candidate in 1948, where he might have taken on Harry S. Truman?

The last election Harold Stassen ran in was 1992, as was the first year Vermin Supreme ran, in a case of almost-synchronicity.

Supreme is known for a lot of issues but is best known for his 2017 “right to pony” demonstration in front of a bookstore which was promoting the Hillary Clinton tome What Happened

This aligns with his campaign promises of “a free pony for every American”. In 2016 he accused Chris Christie of “hating ponies”.  He has been documented in the 2014 documentary  Who is Vermin Supreme, An Outsider Odyssey”.  Who Is Vermin Supreme? An Outsider Odyssey (2014)  and  included in five other films.

On a more serious note, in 2006 he donated one of his kidneys to his mother, suffering from renal failure.  Born in Massachusetts, he began his career as an anti-nuke activist. He was initially a booking agent for underground music clubs, after dropping out of the Maryland Institute of Art.

Vermin Supreme sometimes wears an overturned boot on his head, among other outre outfits.

Regarding his alias he says “Let me point out that all politicians are, in fact, vermin. I am the Vermin Supreme, therefore I am without question, the most qualified candidate in this race, at this time.” … “Of course as a politician, I shall lie to you, because I am a politician, and I have no reason not to.”

He has a clear understanding of the first amendment;  Introducing the next president of the universe, Vermin …

“But my take on it is the first amendment of the U.S. Constitution guarantees us the right to peaceably assemble and use our free speech to petition our government for the redress of our grievances.”

After this, we’ll return to all the candidates who don’t know they’re satirical.
