Cruz Spanks Franken

Forty-nine Democrats in the U.S. Senate led by former Saturday Night Live comedy writer Al Franken of Minnesota have proposed a Constitutional amendment that would declare that First Amendment speech protection does not apply to corporations.

These brilliant (that’s sarcasm) thinkers in seeking to restrict speech just for those of whom they disapprove failed to account for the reality that just about all our news and entertainment outlets are corporations.

Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz spanks Franken et al as he points out that those who write and produce Saturday Night Live — which is the property of NBC which is owned by Philadelphia-based Comcast CORPORATION — could conceivably face jail time for their satirical sketches if this Democrat amendment should pass.

He does it in a rather presidential fashion too.

Here is the C-Span clip

Rick Perry Attack Smacks Of Totalitarianism

Rosemary Lehmberg, the district attorney of Travis County, Texas was arrested for drunk driving April 12, 2013.

Video of her arrest showed her being abusive and threatening officers with retaliation.

She pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 45 days in jail and a $4,000 fine.

She refused to resign, though.

Travis County is one of the few Democrat counties in Texas and contains the state capital of Austin. One of the jobs of the Travis D.A. is to head the The Public Integrity Unit (PIU) which is funded by the state and investigates public corruption, insurance fraud, and motor fuels tax fraud.

The Travis County DA also holds the chief responsibility for enforcing the government and election code statewide.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry felt that a person who scoffs at the law and abuses law enforcement officers was not fit to hold the position. He said he would veto the $7.5 million state funding for the PIU unless Ms. Lehmberg resigned.

Ms. Lehmberg again refused and Perry vetoed the allocation.

What happened next was that a grand jury was empaneled in Travis County and indicted Perry on the felony charges of felony charges of abuse of official capacity and coercion of public servant with a maximum sentence of 109 years in prison.

Perry, today, Aug. 16, issued a statement saying that he “wholeheartedly and unequivocally” stands behind his veto calling the indictment as “nothing more than an abuse of power.

” I cannot, and will not, allow that to happen,” he said.  “I intend to fight against those who would erode our state’s constitution and laws purely for political purposes, and I intend to win. I will explore every legal avenue to expedite this matter and bring it to a swift conclusion. I am confident we will ultimately prevail, that this farce of a prosecution will be revealed for what it is, and that those responsible will be held to account.”

Thank you, Gov. Perry. We wish you were a Pennsylvanian.

Here is the video of District Attorney Lehmberg showing her respect for the law.

Al Gore Sues Al Jazeera

It’s the battle of the Al’s and while fun to watch it’s hard to care about which scorpion wins.

Al Gore, with Current TV co-founder Joel Hyatt, filed suit against Al Jazeera America in Delaware Court of Chancery  over $65 million being held in escrow.

Gore and Hyatt sold the unwatched network to the Jihadist propaganda machine in January 2013 for $500 million making him even more obscenely richer than he was.

As  Current-TV had a viewership closer to a public access network airing a replay of a township commissioners meeting than, well, Fox, the Arabs were not interested in its content but in the favorable cable and satellite deals the network had.

Once a former vice president was no longer on the scene, however, Al Jazeera discovered the sweet circumstances to be rather ephemeral. It found itself in litigation with DirectTV and AT&T, along with being dropped by Time Warner Cable albeit it has since returned.

So they’ve be slow to give Gore and Hyatt all the money, which Gore and Hyatt want as the obscenely rich can never have too much.

Al Jazeera has not been doing much better than Current in its ratings, by the way.

Gore’s attorney in the lawsuit is again David Boies who represented him in the 2000 battle over the Florida election recount.

Democrats Pay Blacks Less

Democrats Pay Blacks LessDemocrats Pay Blacks Less

Democrats pay blacks less according to a study by New Organizing Institute.

Thirty percent less it should be noted.

Republicans don’t it seems.

Those who run the Democrat Party are users who despite all the preaching about equality and social justice are basically in it for themselves.

Their goal is to seek fermentation and division to prevent those who would otherwise unite on shared values from doing so and disrupting their gravy train.

The party has racist roots, and, yes, it has never left them.

Riots have erupted in the environs of St. Louis after  police in the suburb of Ferguson shot and killed an unarmed black kid named Michael Brown.

Questions and even anger are appropriate but when passersby are attacked just because they can be attacked and stores are looted just because they can be looted, the matter of Mr. Brown’s death gets buried beneath more pressing matters of right and wrong.

Just about all those rioters, if they voted, voted for Barack Obama for president. It is not unreasonable to think that he can calm things down and stop the destruction of property belonging to innocent people not to mention assaults on those people

So where is he? Why he’s golfing on Martha’s Vineyard.

Bombs are falling on Iraq, Christians are being killed by Islamic progressives; unattended children are being pushed across the Mexican border; Russia is conspiring to invade Ukraine, and may have inadvertently shot down a Malaysian jetliner as part of the conspiracy; U.S. wages are down 23 percent and a deadly disease is threatening to engulf the world.

And he’s out golfing.

For two weeks.

Way to go hipsters.

NYU Opressive Slavemaster

Prestigious New York University is bastion of progressive liberalism.

NYU and other bastions of progressive liberalism, the Louvre and the Guggenheim, are building edifices on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi in the mind -blowingly rich United Arab Emirates (UAE).

And they are using poorly paid indentured servants, whom they trap in the country and force to live in squalid conditions, to do the labor.

That’s right, our progressive liberals are oppressive slave masters.

Just something to consider the next time you want to attend an OWS rally.

Vice.com has a great article spelling out the sordid details here.

In a completely related matter, the world’s most expensive RV was sold in Dubai, also in the UAE, for $3 million. It is a 40-foot long eleMMent Palazzo from Marchi Mobile, an Austrian company.

It is covered with goal.

While our 1-percenters are generally irreligious — even anti-religious — this sort of thing does explain why they are generally less hostile towards Islam than Christianity.

New York Times Graham Spanier Whitewash

The New York Times Magazine carried a paen, July 16, to disgraced former Penn State President Graham Spanier, by Micahel Sokolove.

Sokolove practically acquits him of the charges filed against him stemming from his handling of reports that one-time football coach and retired faculty member Jerry Sandusky was abusing children.

The charges were filed on Nov. 1, 2012 and are one count perjury,  two counts of endangering the welfare of children, two counts of criminal conspiracy, which are all third-degree felonies  punishable by up to seven years in prison and $15,000 fines; one count of obstructing the administration of law or other governmental function and one count of criminal conspiracy, both second-degree misdemeanors punishable by up to two years in prison and $5,000 fines; and one count of failure to report suspected child abuse, a summary offense punishable by up to 90 days in prison and a $300 fine.

“The case against Spanier is at best problematic, at worst fatally flawed,” Sokolove says.

Sokolove writes about how the 66-year-old Spanier’s father flew into a rage at everything and beat him and made him eat everything on his plate and sometimes sent him to bed without dinner.

Sokolove writes that Spanier grew Penn State “from a remote outpost of American higher education into a top-tier public university” and had some of “world’s most decorated architects” design the new buildings on his watch.

He writes that Sokolove “paid his own way through Iowa State.”

Regarding the e-mails that led to the charges, Sokolove says that Spanier says he has no memory of writing it but that using the word “vulnerable” as in “The only downside for us is if the message isn’t ‘heard’ and acted upon, and we then become vulnerable for not having reported it. But that can be assessed down the road” was a bad idea.

And he blames the late Joe Paterno, anyway.

Maybe Sokolove’s biggest journalistic failure was his omission of any reference to the John T. Neisworth matter in which Spanier was told by a young man in 2002 about how Neisworth, a respected Penn State special education professor who literally wrote the book on autism, molested him. Neisworth would make a six-figure cash settlement to the man.

The contact was made with Spanier two weeks after Spanier had been told about Sandusky.

The New York Times whitewash is almost enough to make one take David Icke seriously.

Sean Bergin Speaks Truth, Gets Suspended

Sean Bergin Speaks Truth, Gets Suspended

Sean Bergin a reporter for News12, which is a “cable-exclusive service” for the New York metropolitan area, was suspended for what he said while reporting the death of rookie Jersey City police officer Melvin Santiago.

Santiago was shot in ambush in Jersey City by area-resident Lawrence Campbell who apparently was motivated “to be famous”.

He was 23.

Campbell acquired the murder weapon by assaulting a security guard at the  Walgreens drug store where the shooting occurred.

Campbell was subsequently shot by police leaving behind a wife, Angelique, and at least one child, a six-year-old girl.

Mrs. Campbell did not express much regret for her husband’s passing. She did say that she wished he had murdered more human beings serving as police officers before his date with judgement.

Campbell’s friends set up a small shrine at the store featuring candles, balloons,  a bottle of cheap liquor (empty), and gang paraphernalia urging the late citizen to “Thug in Peace”.

It was too much for Bergin. He said this:

“It is worth noting that we were besieged, flooded with calls from police officers furious that we would give media coverage to the wife of a cop killer. We decided to air it because it is important to shine a light on the anti-cop mentality that has so contaminated America’s inner cities. This same, sick, perverse line of thinking is evident from Jersey City to Newark and Patterson to Trenton. It has made the police officer’s job impossible and it has got to stop.

“The underlying cause for all of this, of course: Young black men growing up without fathers. Unfortunately, no one in the news media has the courage to touch that subject.”

His employers were displeased and suspended him.

We say God bless Sean Bergin for speaking truth to power.

Here is the report itself:

America Movie Oscar Pedigree

Maybe Hollywood is finally waking up.  Dinesh D’Souza’s sleeper hit America: Imagine a World Without Her has a pretty good Oscar Pedigree with Gerald Molen, who produced Schindler’s List and co-produced Rain Man, as producer and Gray Frederickson, who produced The Godfather and the Godfather Part II and Apocalypse Now as associate producer.

Frederickson describes what some are thinking in this article on Breitbart.com.

If you are interested in seeing America: Imagine a World Without Her here is where it is playing in Philadelphia’s western suburbs.

FYI, it appears that Costco’s decision to pull the movie’s book companion from its stories was political.

Costco has been been a big donor to Obama whom the book and movie harshly criticize.

Did you know one needs a photo ID to get into a Costco? Of course, it’s not like one is trying to vote or anything.
