Roger Simon Skewers Obama Ebola Incompetence

Author and Academy Award nominated screenwriter Roger Simon has a great column at PJmedia.com skewering the Obama administration’s handling of  Ebola and other ongoing crises  in way that makes you want to cry — or hide under the covers.

He notes that after millions knew of the hatchet attack by a “quasi-Islamo-lunatic” on a New York City cop, yesterday, Oct. 23, an administration representative queried about it was unaware it happened.

Regarding the matter of  Dr. Craig Spencer,  Simon writes was that part of the latest CDC protocol or the pilot for a television series — “Bowling for Ebola”?  In this new reality show/game you have to guess which ball doesn’t have infected fluids from the previous contestant inside its little holes.   The winner gets to go on but the loser, well… you know…

Spencer 33, returned to New York on Oct. 17  from the West African nation of Guinea where he had treated Ebola patients.  He spent the next six days riding subways, bowling, using the Uber taxi service, and spending time with his girlfriend before reporting a fever on Oct. 23 and being admitted to Bellevue Hospital Center for diagnosis and treatment.

So what did Obama do on Oct. 23? He hung out at Sen. Jay Rockefeller’s (D-W Va) mansion where he was the guest of honor at a $32,400 a plate fundraiser for the Democrat (Little Guy LOL) Party.

The mansion, by the way, is an $18 million palace in Washington D.C., a long way from coal fields and mountain music of the people, Rockefeller — who is retiring this term — allegedly represents.

When our little ride ends Obama supporters are going to look at their votes for the man about the same way the Germans who voted for Hitler did in June 1945.

Anyway, kudos to Roger Simon.

John Kane Neglects Secret Daughter

The Democrat candidate for the 26th Pennsylvania Senate District has a secret daughter whom he has been neglecting it seems.

The Philadelphia Daily News reports that Kristin Holgerson, 32, of Maryland has posted this on Facebook:

DELCO Friends & Family: In November you’re going to have to vote for a person for State Senate seat. One of these men is not who he says he is. He claims to be a family man, launching his campaign with a commercial with all of his children in it. Well, that commercial is missing someone. Me. As some of you already know, I never had a relationship with my father. I knew his name at a young age and around 20 I met him for the first and last time. After our meeting, despite telling me I could call him at any time, he changed his number and I haven’t heard from him since.

Apparently what set Ms. Holgerson off was Kane’s commercials portraying himself as a dedicated blue collar family man.

Are we really surprised?

Kane has an income of $277,000 from work related to managing the affairs of Plumber’s Local 690 of Philadelphia and Vicinity and $119,213 comes from co-chairing the union’s vacation, a job which he has told the IRS only requires from him one hour per week.

How is that anything but an indication of self-centered arrogance and shlock?

How is that anything other than proof positive he cares only for himself and doesn’t give a rat’s tail about the union guys who chip in to have him manage their affairs?

Kane’s Republican opponent is Tom McGarrigle, a guy who owns a well-liked garage on Woodland Avenue in Springfield and by all accounts is a dedicated blue collar family man.

We have been told a story will be running in the Delaware County Daily Times.

Mumia Speech Inspires HB 2533

Murderer Mumia Abu Jamal’s Oct. 5 recorded commencement address for the Vermont Campus of Goddard College has inspired legislation in Pennsylvania to address revictimization.

House Bill 2533 passed the  House Judiciary Committee, Oct. 8, and is expected to come before the full house this week, according to State Rep. Jim Cox (R-129).

Ahhh but what will happen if it should reach the Senate, hmmm Senator Pileggi?

HB 2533 says In addition to any other right of action and any other remedy provided by law, a victim of a personal injury crime may bring a civil action against an offender in any court of competent jurisdiction to obtain injunctive and other appropriate relief, including reasonable attorney fees and other costs associated with the litigation, for conduct which perpetuates the continuing effect of the crime on the victim.

Jamal is a convicted murderer who barely escaped the execution gurney and is serving a life sentence for taking the life of an innocent man, whom he has been slandering ever since. And before you start screaming in defense of Jamal’s First Amendment rights ask if he should have Second Amendment rights as well. How about the Fourth Amendment? You think the guards should need a warrant to search his cell?

Jamal can’t even order out for a pizza. He can’t even choose what clothes to wear.

He should be grateful for just being allowed to breathe.

Austan Goolsbee Vs The Law

Austan Goolsbee may be one of those guys who think the law just doesn’t apply to his set.

Goolsbee has degrees from Yale and MIT and was an Alfred Sloan Fellow and a Fulbright Scholar, and, as chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers, was the youngest member of President Obama’s cabinet.

And in 2010, during a briefing to reporters, this super smart guy said that Koch Industries, owned by libertarian philanthropists Charles and David Koch — strong Obama opponents — paid no income taxes.

He may have used a confidential IRS document to do so. Unlike,  say, using our byzantine tax code to avoid taxes,  this would have been a  violation of U.S. law.

Republican senators demanded that the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration investigate and the office said it would.

Well, mum then became the word as to what the investigation found or if it actually occurred.

So,  the watchdog group Cause of Action filed Freedom of Information Act requests as to what was going on with it.

The request was rejected by the Obama Administration on the very funny grounds that it was unlawful to release a citizen’s tax returns.

So, like a good watchdog group, Cause of Action sued. On Sept. 29, United States District Judge Amy Berman Jackson ruled in its favor and ordered the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration to release the requested information.

The Obama Administration has said that Goolsbee was just repeated something he recalled reading.

If so, why the fight to keep things hidden?

Goddard Hipsters Tap Capital Punisher As Commencement Speaker

Danny and Maureen Faulkner Goddard Hipsters Tap Capital Punisher As Commencement Speaker

Danny and Maureen Faulkner at their wedding in 1979

The hipster undergrads at the Vermont campus of Goddard College have tapped murderer Mumia Abu-Jamal to be a “commencement” speaker this Sunday, Oct. 5, showing they are just fine with capital punishment providing the subject of such is one whose existence violates their sense of aesthetics.

Danny Faulkner, the Philadelphia policeman who Jamal murdered on Dec. 9, 1981 solely because he was a Philadelphia policeman doing his job, is one such whose life the hipsters hold cheap.

Jamal, of course, will not be able to appear in person so he will subject the hipster undergrads to his hipster, progressive, transgressive wisdom via a recording which we suspect will justly bore them silly.

May it last at least two hours.

Goddard is a private liberal arts college with campuses in Plainfield, Vt, Port Townsend, Wa. and Seattle, Wa.  that is designed to be an experimental and non-traditional educational institution.

It holds 20 commencement ceremonies annually to provide personalized graduation ceremonies in each degree program, according Interim President Bob Kenny.

The choice of the murderer Jamal was made by the students but is strongly supported by the administration showing that the school’s support for selective capital punishment goes all the way to the top.

“Choosing Mumia as their commencement speaker, to me, shows how this newest group of Goddard graduates expresses their freedom to engage and think radically and critically in a world that often sets up barriers to do just that,” Kenny said.

Daniel J. Faulkner was murdered two weeks before his 26th birthday. He was the youngest of seven children in an Irish Catholic family from Southwest Philadelphia.  His father, who drove a trolley car, died of a heart attack when Faulkner was five. Faulkner’s mother went to work and relied on her older children to help raise him. Faulkner dropped out of high school, but earned his diploma and an associate’s degree in criminal justice while serving in the United States Army.

After leaving the army In 1975, he  worked briefly as a corrections officer, and then joined the Philadelphia Police Department. Aspiring to be a city prosecutor, Faulkner enrolled in college to earn his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.

He married in 1979.

His wife, Maureen, has been an outspoken defender of the truth about what happened that night and the guilt of Jamal and the cruelty of his act.

May Goddard and the soulless bastards who support it rot.

John Kane Compensation Challenge

We were challenged concerning the $277,000 taxable compensation we reported John Kane, who is the Democrat’s nominee for the 26th District State Senate race,  was receiving as business manager of Plumber’s Local 690 of Philadelphia and Vicinity.

Here you go.

Kane receives $156,537 in salary for his job as business manager and $119,213 as co-chairman of the union’s vacation fund, as per the IRS 990 form that is required to be filed by the vacation fund.

Vacation fund. He is taking $119,213 for running the vacation fund. Don’t you think this  be part of his already well-compensated job as the union’s business manager?

And if we are reading the 990 correctly he is only working one hour a week at it.

LOL. You still want to contribute to his campaign?

Kane says he will continue taking the money even if he should win the seat, which comes with a $84,012 salary and very nice benefits.

People like Kane are what make the rest of us poor.

Kane is seeking the seat being vacated by Republican Ted Erickson, a decent, honest guy. The Republican nominee is Delaware County Councilman Tom McGarrigle, another decent, honest guy who grew up in Springfield, attended a public vocational high school and runs a well-liked garage.

And for the rank and file of Local 690:  here is a list of the salaries of your leaders, which includes $1,431 in benefits for Kane not mentioned on the 990 form.

Note seven of them are making six figures. Are you really getting your money’s worth? Don’t think it would nice if you could actually withhold your dues rather than having them automatically deducted? You think maybe you might get better representation if you had this ability?

Dem Delaware County Hypocrisy

Some tidbits recently gleaned concerning this November’s battle for the Pennsylvania Legislature reveal that when it comes to hypocrisy the Keystone State’s Democrats take second place to no one.

The Democrats nominee to fill the 26th District Senate Seat being vacated by Republican Ted Erickson is John Kane, who is business manager of Plumber’s Local #690. Kane, gritty man of the people, has a taxable income of $277,000.

Sure is sweet to be a union official. He says he is not quitting if he should win the race and will keep the $80,000 salary that comes with the seat along with the other bennies.

That wouldn’t quite make him a one percenter but it would likely put him in the 2 percenter category, which is where he probably is now.

His opponent is Delaware County Councilman Tom McGarrigle, who grew up in Springfield, attended a public vocational high school and runs a well-liked garage.

Meanwhile, the D’s picked a full-blown one-percenter to challenge long-time incumbent Bill Adolph for the 165th District seat in the State House.

The candidate, Charles Hadley, is a retired venture capitalist from Radnor who apparently has a net worth of over $100 million.

If you want your freedom and don’t want to live in a land where you have to kiss the rings of the rich and connected vote Republican.

Cruz Spanks Franken

Forty-nine Democrats in the U.S. Senate led by former Saturday Night Live comedy writer Al Franken of Minnesota have proposed a Constitutional amendment that would declare that First Amendment speech protection does not apply to corporations.

These brilliant (that’s sarcasm) thinkers in seeking to restrict speech just for those of whom they disapprove failed to account for the reality that just about all our news and entertainment outlets are corporations.

Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz spanks Franken et al as he points out that those who write and produce Saturday Night Live — which is the property of NBC which is owned by Philadelphia-based Comcast CORPORATION — could conceivably face jail time for their satirical sketches if this Democrat amendment should pass.

He does it in a rather presidential fashion too.

Rick Perry Attack Smacks Of Totalitarianism

Rosemary Lehmberg, the district attorney of Travis County, Texas was arrested for drunk driving April 12, 2013.

Video of her arrest showed her being abusive and threatening officers with retaliation.

She pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 45 days in jail and a $4,000 fine.

She refused to resign, though.

Travis County is one of the few Democrat counties in Texas and contains the state capital of Austin. One of the jobs of the Travis D.A. is to head the The Public Integrity Unit (PIU) which is funded by the state and investigates public corruption, insurance fraud, and motor fuels tax fraud.

The Travis County DA also holds the chief responsibility for enforcing the government and election code statewide.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry felt that a person who scoffs at the law and abuses law enforcement officers was not fit to hold the position. He said he would veto the $7.5 million state funding for the PIU unless Ms. Lehmberg resigned.

Ms. Lehmberg again refused and Perry vetoed the allocation.

What happened next was that a grand jury was empaneled in Travis County and indicted Perry on the felony charges of felony charges of abuse of official capacity and coercion of public servant with a maximum sentence of 109 years in prison.

Perry, today, Aug. 16, issued a statement saying that he “wholeheartedly and unequivocally” stands behind his veto calling the indictment as “nothing more than an abuse of power.

” I cannot, and will not, allow that to happen,” he said.  “I intend to fight against those who would erode our state’s constitution and laws purely for political purposes, and I intend to win. I will explore every legal avenue to expedite this matter and bring it to a swift conclusion. I am confident we will ultimately prevail, that this farce of a prosecution will be revealed for what it is, and that those responsible will be held to account.”

Thank you, Gov. Perry. We wish you were a Pennsylvanian.

Here is the video of District Attorney Lehmberg showing her respect for the law.
