Springfield 6th Ward Leaf Collection 2022 — Springfield’s 6th Ward leaf collection starts the week of Nov. 7 with the 2nd Precinct. The 4th Precinct will have its leaves collected the week of Nov. 21; the 3rd the week of Nov. 28; and the 1st the week of Dec. 5.

Form leaves at the edge of sidewalk or front lawn. Don’t put them in the street. If a collection dat is missed or a second pick up needed, notify the township after the week of Dec. 5 and it will come around again.

  1. Aston Township used to have a truck come by for the leaves. Through a series of poor decisions by several individuals on the board of commishinors they voted to no longer contract the trucks.

    Then the law of unintended consequences kicked in. The net result was people starting cutting down their trees rather than bag up the leaves.

    Somedays I look around are truly believe the Brookhaven Council and Aston Board are trying to see who can cut down the most trees.

    Aston used to look like the country. When I moved here in the 80s there were still outhouses in Lenni, chickens in Aston Mills, horse farms on Concord road, several hunting clubs, huge old growth trees at the Five Points and so much more.

    This is Penn’s woods not Penn’s asphalt jungle. We are looking more and more like part of a city than the residential suburbs we are supposed to be.
