Libertarian Petitions Confiscated In Delco

Libertarian Petitions Confiscated In Delco — In an exceedingly boneheaded move, Saturday evening (July 16), Delaware County Park Police stopped Libertarians from circulating petitions for 7th District congressional candidate Patrick Henry Sellers in the county’s Rose Tree Park in Upper Providence. Police confiscated the petitions and later chased down the circulators with intent to cite them for disorderly conduct. Libertarian Petitions Confiscated In Delco

“I was asked to leave the park and complied,” said Dale Kerns.  “I went to (the nearby) Wawa. After leaving Wawa on 252 by the Route 1 bypass, the Park Police pulled me over outside their jurisdiction on Route 1 heading toward the Blue Route.”

The encounter shortly before 8 p.m. was recorded by Kerns. One of the  officers says the action was taken at the behest of County Council member Mario Civera just after explaining why the citation is being issued.

Tough break, kid. You are young and there are many other police departments in the nation.

Solicitation is prohibited in county parks albeit this is generally understood to be for commercial matters and not for things like collecting signatures for candidate petitions.

Regardless, that the petitions were confiscated is drastically overstepping all reasonable bounds of law enforcement.

At least American law enforcement.

Kerns says that police ultimately decided not to file the criminal citations but they have yet to return his petitions with the names he collected.

He says he has been in contact with a civil rights attorney.

Among those with whom Sellers will be contending this fall — assuming he gets enough signatures to get on the ballot — will be GOP incumbent Pat Meehan.

I plan on voting for Meehan, but then I planned on voting for him in the primary too.

He doesn’t make it easy.

Here is Kerns video. You can see  why.

Bathroom Bills Back In Pa As SB 1306 And SB 1307

Bathroom Bills Back In Pa As SB 1306 And SB 1307 — Public outcry stopped  pending Pennsylvania legislation that would open ladies rooms and girls sports teams to men but the termites in Harrisburg never sleep and new bills were quickly introduced to  catch the sane occupants of the Keystone State off guard.

Senate Bill 974 hasn’t moved since Sept. 15 and a resolution ending further consideration on HB 1510, was passed June 7 after this garbage crept into the public conscience.

Bathroom Bills Back In Pa As SB 1306 And SB 1307
Sen. Browne, let this man in the girls room!

So on June 10, SB 1306 and SB 1307 were introduced by Republican zealots that, like SB 974, would prohibit “sexual orientation, gender identity or expression” from discrimination in “public accommodations” like, well, public restrooms.

And school showers.

And school sports teams.

And it would add “sexual orientation” and “gender identity or expression” to the protected classes making it difficult for businesses to fire or discipline those describing themselves as gay or transgendered or whatever.

The prime sponsor of both bills is Sen. Pat Browne, a Republican who represents the 16th District which is in Lehigh County, and who is also the prime sponsor of SB 974.

Brown is being strongly backed by former conservative hero Scott Wagner, a Republican who represents the 28th district which is York County.

SB 1307 adds to the law the phrasing Public policies, reflecting an open and welcoming environment and ensuring equal opportunity, foster economic growth and prosperity which benefit the inhabitants of this Commonwealth. Conversely, the absence of nondiscrimination protections hinder efforts to recruit and retain the diversity of talented individuals and successful enterprises required for a thriving economy and strong public sector on which the inhabitants of this Commonwealth depend.

Sen. Wagner, are you saying that if a guy wearing fishnet stockings comes to you asking to drive one of your trash trucks, there is policy that now prevents you from hiring him?

This is not true.

Bathroom Bills Back In Pa As SB 1306 And SB 1307
Sen. Wagner, let this man drive your trash truck!

The only thing Senator that would now prevent you from hiring such a man is your own prejudices. Please don’t project them on to the rest of us.

Protected classes do not foster economic growth and prosperity. They hurt economic growth and prosperity. The goal should not be to expand them but to eliminate them.

A discussion of Wagner’s and Browne’s bizarre crusade can be found on this archived broadcast of It’s A New Day 1180 AM WFYL below:

SNAP Ends Mexican Advertising

SNAP Ends Mexican Advertising — The 2002 Farm Bill signed by President George W. Bush expanded the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) i.e. “food stamps” to non-citizens. His administration then agreed as part of a trade deal with Mexico to advertise this perk in that nation which ended up including radio and TV advertising.

No comprende? What did he say?

That’s right, our government was on Mexican radio telling Mexicans how to get U.S. taxpayer-provided freebies.

SNAP Ends Mexican Advertising
Si senor, Fritos can be bought with food stamps.

By the way these freebies don’t just include bulk grains, fresh veggies and cooking oil but things like Pepsi and Coke, Oreos and Fritos.

The service was expanded again in 2008, again signed by Dubya, and later expanded (naturally) by President Obama.

The 2014 Farm Bill passed by the Tea Party-influenced, Republican-controlled Congress put restrictions on government advertising SNAP on television and radio. This included broadcasting in Mexico.

Well heavens-to-Betsy, it is being reported that after more than a year the Agriculture Department is finally implementing this law.

Wonder if a certain political campaign might have set a little fire under their tails to finally act.

And how did this policy ever get implemented in the first place?

Note: the U.S. in 2014 budgeted $756 billion for food stamps and nutrition.

And you really think President Trump is going to have a problem cutting our deficit?

Pennsylvania Terror Under-reported

Pennsylvania Terror Under-reported Pennsylvania Terror Under-reported –For those who still think it wise to allow Muslims purportedly fleeing Syrian violence to live here, consider these stories from  last week.

Jalil Ibn Ameer Aziz, 19, of Harrisburg,  has been charged with conspiring and attempting to provide material support to ISIS. Aziz allegedly used 57 Twitter accounts to advocate violence against the United States and to disseminate ISIS propaganda and acted as an intermediary between a person in Turkey and several well-known members of ISIS.

Note the source is the Marple Newtown Patch using information unsealed Thursday U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. This story was not given major play in the local dailies or television.

And yesterday, Dec. 18,  authorities evacuated the Walmart on Conchester Highway in the Willowbrook Shopping Center in Boothwyn, after receiving a bomb threat.

It really doesn’t take a genius to figure out that threats alone can cause havoc.

Union Minimum Wage Exemption

"The gentlemen in Washington seem to genuinely believe that if they measure their penises in picas they’ll all be Jonah Falcon — in reality, their interns won’t notice any difference," Williamson wrote. The point can't be made any better -- except maybe by the union leaders who say they will fight for their members to be paid less than minimum wage. Union Minimum Wage Exemption. Union Minimum Wage ExemptionThe Los Angeles City Council, May 19, on a 14-1 vote passed a plan to raise the minimum wage from $9 to $15 per hour by 2020.

The local unions are demanding to be exempt from the law.

How far labor has fallen. The message is now join us and  we will fight to get you below minimum wage jobs.

Why they are doing this is obvious. Many businesses will no longer be profitable when forced to pay the newly mandated wages hence they will either:

  • Close
  • Move
  • Layoff workers to reach an employee level that they can afford. This means that the employees who remain will be expected to work harder for their paycheck
  • Automate.

It is feared that Hollywood is going to be especially affected.

Really stupid people are running government. Really stupid.

Money is a useful, beneficial communications tool. It is nothing more. It is not magic. It is not something to be worshiped. It does not automatically solve problems, despite what the progressive and “social justice” warrior types think.

Kevin D. Williamson of National Review, who once edited the Main Line Times, spells it out wonderfully in his article Bernie Sanders’s Dark Age Economics, which concerns the Vermont senator’s plan for a national minimum wage.

“The gentlemen in Washington seem to genuinely believe that if they measure their penises in picas they’ll all be Jonah Falcon — in reality, their interns won’t notice any difference,” Williamson wrote.
The point can’t be made any better — except maybe by the union leaders who say they will fight for their members to be paid less than minimum wage.

Chink In Armor Is Political Correctness

Chink In Armor Is Political Correctness, and Al Franken writer of ethnic slurs
Sen. Al Franken, writer of ethnic slurs

The United States Army tweeted, yesterday, Jan. 30, “Chinks in special ops’ digital and physical armor poses challenges, experts say” which referred to this news release which, then, had a similar headline.

Notice it has changed.

Why? Because various public-school educated idiots took to Twitter expressing outrage over what they thought was an ethnic slur and even bigger idiots caved in to them.

A nation that fails to defend truth is a nation in trouble and the truth is that   only an attention-seeker or an idiot would call “chinks” as was used by the Army in that context an ethnic insult.

Here is an example of “chinks” as used as an ethnic insult: “A Chink is always a Gook, but a Gook isn’t always a Chink”

You know who wrote those words? Sen. Al Franken.

If the grievance mongers want to make themselves useful they should demand that he resigns.

Colleen Bell Named Ambassador To Hungary

A woman named Colleen Bell was picked by President Obama to be America’s ambassador to Hungary and was confirmed by the still Democrat-controlled Senate, yesterday, Dec. 2.

The vote was 52-42.

Here is her application essay as reported by Scott Ott of PJMedia.com

Why I Want to Live in Budapest for a Year or More

by Colleen Bell

I’m “Hungary” to spend some time in Budapest (LOL) as part of the U.S. government’s Obama Bundlers Abroad program (that part’s also a joke). While I’ve never been a diplomat, I did earn a diploma in high school and college. I hope this essay is good enough to win Senate confirmation.

As a soap opera producer, I bring a world of experience to the task of serving as the U.S. Ambassador to Hungary. My show, “The Bold and the Beautiful,” is seen in more than 100 countries, so they probably know of me already.

Because of my job on the soap opera, I know more than most people do about the challenges of building solid, long-lasting, mutually-satisfying relationships — or at least about pretending to do so.

But if all I had to recommend me was a history of creating high-quality treacherous relationship stories for daytime TV, I could understand how you might be reluctant to send me overseas as the president’s emissary, and the official face of America.

So, you’ll be glad to know that I’m also a campaign bundler for the president, having raised millions of dollars to assure myself an appointment as ambassador. (Just kidding.)

My wealth of experience making phone calls to wealthy Liberals will serve me well in Budapest, as I’m sure they probably have wealthy Liberals over there too, and maybe even telephones. I even hosted a dinner for the president at my house and got Foo Fighters to perform there. If Hungarian government officials haven’t heard of Foo Fighters yet, they’re really good.

Finally, as if all of that were not enough to secure my confirmation, I’ve also been told that I’m an attractive woman. Ordinarily, I wouldn’t have mentioned that, but when you’re trying to show the world America’s best face, it never hurts to actually have a nice face.

All the Best,
Colleen Bell

It should be noted that she really has donated $800,000 to Obama’s re-election.

CNN Says SEAL Killed Obama

CNN’s Erin Burnett did a report, Nov. 7, on the controversy about Navy SEAL Robert O’Neill going public with the claim he was the one who fired the shot that killed Osama Bin Laden. The banner beneath beneath kind of undercut the credibility of what she was reporting assuming the declining network has any credibility left to undercut.

CNN Says SEAL Killed Obama

No, it didn’t just run for a second. It ran for the entire piece.

And such is the state of the old journalism outfits.

Cruz Spanks Franken

Forty-nine Democrats in the U.S. Senate led by former Saturday Night Live comedy writer Al Franken of Minnesota have proposed a Constitutional amendment that would declare that First Amendment speech protection does not apply to corporations.

These brilliant (that’s sarcasm) thinkers in seeking to restrict speech just for those of whom they disapprove failed to account for the reality that just about all our news and entertainment outlets are corporations.

Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz spanks Franken et al as he points out that those who write and produce Saturday Night Live — which is the property of NBC which is owned by Philadelphia-based Comcast CORPORATION — could conceivably face jail time for their satirical sketches if this Democrat amendment should pass.

He does it in a rather presidential fashion too.

Here is the C-Span clip

Nation Of Africa Says Biden

Nation Of Africa Says Biden

Nation Of Africa Says Biden

One heart beat away but we don’t care.

Still it’s worth knowing what we are getting in the event Barack Obama is impeached as he deserves to be.

Vice President Joe Biden was a speaker at today’s, Aug. 5, U.S.-Africa Business Forum hosted by Bloomberg Philanthropies and the U.S. Department of Commerce.

The event was billed as the “first-ever U.S.-Africa Business Forum.” Here is what our Vice President said:
\

That’s right. He called the Continent of Africa,  the world’s second largest and second most populous; a place with  54 fully recognized sovereign states (“countries“), nine territories and two de facto independent states with limited or no recognition, a nation.

The bright side is that he did not suggest that they irrigate their crops with a sports drink.
