Pennsylvania Constables Seek Return To Traditional Role As Peacekeepers — State Constable Timothy Kregiel points out that his position has as much authority as any other police in Pennsylvania.
More, actually as their jurisdiction is the entire state despite being locally elected.

Kregiel serves the 4th Precinct of Lower Burrell in Westmoreland County.
Kregiel recently interviewed former Allentown constable Steven Wiggs, who was pushed from his job by the county authorities displeased with the independence he showed.
Constables are commonly thought to be tasked with merely keeping order at polling places, serving warrants and dealing with tenant disputes.
They can, however, make arrests and control traffic.
It was traffic that got Wiggs in trouble.
He became concerned when he found a car stopped on the highway in a dangerous spot. The exhausted father was taking his children to New York State during his visitation and stopped for a few moments of sleep. Wiggs got them to a safer place and made it a mission to routinely check on stopped motorists.
Constables wear uniforms and can have marked cars with lights.
They have to pay for these things, by the way, along with their training an insurance.
Wiggs while crossing the Schuylkill in Philadelphia on I-95 saw a woman stuck on the bridge’s shoulder. He pulled behind her and activated his lights to slow other motorist while she called for assistance. State police arrived though and started giving him grief. He didn’t back down, though, saying the law was on his side.
This escalated and led to the powers-that-be in Lehigh County launching a nine-month investigation in which they declared Wiggs didn’t live in the city and must be removed.
Allentown has become more than half-Hispanic. Wiggs became a popular figure in his ward because he walked a beat and talked to the residents.
That’s what peacekeeping is about.

John Schiess is a fascinating GOP Presidential Candidate. Though currently in Wisconsin, he has lived in Alaska, Arizona, and Oregon, at least, and ran for the Senate two years ago in Alaska.
He believes several unsubstantiated “conspiracy theories”, the most fascinating of is what he calls “reconquista”
He goes on to connect this with the CPUSA who, he alleges, are working with the “Mexican Reconquista” movement to take over the US. This group is so clever they have removed themselves from the Internet! However, there was a historic “Reconquista”, and concerned taking the Iberian Peninsula from the Muslims.
He also is concerned about “Agenda 21” which he says is a UN plan to abolish private property; base world government on public decree and not individual rights; reduce the population; subvert the principles of the Declaration of Independence; and destroy the governing authority of the United States Constitution.
Now, there’s a legend that when Leon Trotsky worked on the failed revolution of 1905, he only went door to door to gather people, not by letter or phone, etc. so that the Czar’s Secret Police wouldn’t have knowledge of this.
This cannot be verified by the internet, either.
In the “general statement section he says “If President Obama met Daniel Boone at the Cumberland Gap, he would be ticketed for not having covered wagon and horse insurance, or maybe not having a seat belt. Mr. Boone might also be in trouble for unregistered firearms, children not registered in school, and the lack of healthcare insurance. “

Election 2020 Defamation Dismissed In Philly; Total Victory For Greg, Leah And Trump–The Philadelphia defamation case against President Trump and others has been dismissed with prejudice by Common Pleas Court Judge Michael E. Erdos.
This means it can’t be refiled.
Complete credit for the victory goes to Delaware County poll watchers Leah Hoopes of Chadds Ford and Gregory Stenstrom of Glen Mills who were co-defendants and who represented themselves.
The high-powered legal team representing The Donald seemed to be just going through the motions when we watched.
Trump, Ms. Hoopes, Stenstrom and Rudy Giuliani were accused of defaming former Delaware County, Pa. Voting Machine Warehouse supervisor James Savage saying he helped rig the 2020 election giving Pennsylvania’s electors — and the presidency — to Joe Biden.
Ms. Hoopes and Stenstrom make their claims in their book The Parallel Election.
Ms. Hoopes and Stenstrom used a truth defense. Truth is an absolute defense in defamation cases although this requires the defendants to prove their case.
J. Conor Corcoran represented Savage.
Corcoran faces a hearing before the disciplinary board of the state Supreme Court on an unrelated matter.
Ms. Hoopes and Stenstrom continue to seek sanctions against Corcoran for actions during their lawsuit.
One factor that raises a hmmm is that the hearing was dropped after Ms. Hoopes and Stenstrom requested subpoenas for Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer, former US Attorney for Eastern Pennsylvania William McSwain; then Pennsylvania Attorney General (now Governor) Josh Shapiro; and communications between Delaware County and Factcheck.org.
Stollsteimer issued a statement May 4 2022 — and read into the record by Delaware County Council, May 18, 2022 — declaring the claims by Ms. Hoopes and Stenstrom to be unfounded. He said their evidence was altered.
You would think Savage would have been the one wanting Stollsteimer’s testimony.
Really? Altered evidence?
Savage would have had a slam dunk.
Wonder why it was the defendants that wanted Stollsteimer on the stand.
There’s a similar defamation case in Delaware County where Savage is joined by Delco Election Director James Allen.
Maybe Jack can testify there.
