Citizens Berate Chesco About Prison Problems, Cavalcante Manhunt

Citizens Berate Chesco About Prison Problems, Cavalcante Manhunt –The Chester County Commissioners ‘subject this morning, Sept. 14, was naturally yesterday’s capture of Danelo Cavalcante.

Cavalcante had been terrorizing the area for two weeks since his Aug. 31 escape from the county prison in Pocopson.

Commissioner Michelle Kichline expressed hope that Yoda, the K-9 that captured the escaped murderer, could attend a meeting of the board.

The audience wasn’t buying the cuteness. Cavalcante would have been nabbed within hours if the county had not gutted the Sheriff Department’s highly regarded K-9 squad it had a mere three years ago.

About 40 were in attendance when comment time arrived and this did not count those watching on the web.

One woman noted that if the county had used the money they spent on the manhunt to fix the problems that arose at the prison — such as short staffing and demoralized guards — the escape would never have happened.

Several, including Bobbie Surrick (sp) of East Bradford, asked why Chesco was a sanctuary county, which means a county that does not prosecute violations of immigration laws.

Another woman noted that if Chesco cooperated with immigration authorities, Cavalcante would have been deported immediately after ex-girlfriend Deborah Brandao filed a protection-from-abuse order. Her children would never have had to watch her brutal stabbing death.

Jennifer Farnum (sp) said a illegal was set on fire and killed by two other illegals in Chester Springs. She said the matter got no publicity.

One woman said the ReadyChesco alert system failed miserably during the prison break/manhunt.

Most of these comments came via Zoom and all were supposedly restricted to agenda items.

We had to leave before those who wished to comment on general items had their chance.

The Chesco public is not happy with its government.

Bunny Welsh Gives Insight On Cavalcante Escape

Bunny Welsh Gives Insight On Cavalcante Escape — Former Chester County, Pa. Sheriff Bunny Welsh appeared, today, Sept. 6 on WWDB‘s Don’t Back Down and AM 990’s Chris Stigall show to describe the ongoing effort to capture Chesco prison escapee and multiple murderer Danelo Cavalcante, who has now been on the lam for a week.

The escape has made international news.

Cavalcante escaped from the prison, Aug. 31, after being convicted 15 days earlier for the April 2021 stabbing of Deborah Brandao, his ex-girlfriend. He was sentenced to life in prison.

Cavalcante, who entered the country illegally, was also wanted for murder in his native Brazil.

While we missed the Stigall show, we heard her tell Don’t Back Down hosts Stan Casacio and attorney Andy Teitelman that a plea in Portuguese from Cavalcante’s mother for him to surrender is being broadcast from aircraft over southern Chesco. She noted that men and women in law enforcement are diligently searching the area in the 90-plus heat all the while wearing body armor and carrying full equipment.

She said that Cavalcante, who is only about 5-feet tall, is believed to have some survival training, which is helping him avoid arrest.

Ms. Welsh said that Cavalcante’s prison shirt has been found.

She noted that if the Chesco Sheriff Department kept its K-9 squad Cavalcante would likely been arrested hours after his escape.

She said the prison in Pocopson is designed for 1,100 inmates but now has a population of about 600.

Ms. Welsh, who was among those consulting with President Trump regarding law enforcement issues, also told a story about the compassion of the President. She said that family whose son died of a fentanyl overdoes asked her to pass on a letter to Trump. She said that he took it and offered condolence. Following the event, though, he approached her, talked with her about it and then wrote a personal note to the family.

Trump never went public. The only ones who know about it are the ones she tells.

Hopefully, she never stops telling it.

She said that Trump, in person, is gentle and more inclined to listen than speak.

Bunny Welsh To Discuss Cavalcante Escape

Bunny Welsh To Discuss Cavalcante Escape — Bunny Welsh, the last competent sheriff of Chester County, Pa., will be guest of Don’t Back Down on WWDB, 2 p.m., tomorrow, Sept. 6.

The show is hosted by Stan Casacio and attorney Andy Teitelman

Ms. Welsh will give her views on how not just multiple murderer/illegal alien Danelo Cavalcante can escape from the county prison, but remain on the lam for six days.

Hopefully, by the time the show airs the scum is caught.

We wouldn’t bet the farm on it though.

The mind-blowing screw up has made international headlines.

Igor Vidra Bolte, an emotionally disturbed man serving a three-month sentence for assulting a West Chester police officer, escaped from the prison in May.

Bolte was caught after just three hours, though.

It is believe he just walked out in a manner similar ot Cavalcante.

Chester County Prison Escape Raises Questions; Cavalcante On Camera This A.M.

Chester County Prison Escape Raises Questions; Cavalcante On Camera This A.M. — Chester County Prison escapee and multiple murderer Danelo Cavalcante was caught on camera at 12:20 this morning, Sept. 2, and police are investigating the area.

Cavalcante also reportedly broke into a home to steal food.

Cavalcante, 34, was convicted of first-degree murder, Aug. 16, for the April 2021 stabbing of Deborah Brandao, his ex-girlfriend, and sentenced to life in prison.

He was also wanted for murder in his native Brazil.

Cavalcante was being held at the 1,100 inmate county facility in Pocopson awaiting transfer to a state prison.

He apparently just walked out even being videoed by the surveillance system. An alarm wasn’t sounded for several hours.

The prison is overseen by a board consisting of the Chester County Commissioners, District Attorney Deborah Ryan, Sheriff Fredda Maddox, the county controller and the president judge of Common Pleas Court who is John L. Hall.

It is required to meet monthly and at least twice on site at the prison.

The prison had been reportedly suffering a shortage of correctional staff and Warden Ronald M. Phillips was placed on administrative leave in July.

Phillips was appointed warden in October 2020 following the retirement of long-time warden Ed McFadden. He started at the prision in 1983 and had been deputy warden under McFadden.

Cavalcante’s escape occurred the day after Phillips’ official retirement.

Howard Holland, the former police chief of Downingtown, is interim warden.

If Chester County still had the Sheriff Office’s K-9 detachment Cavalcante would have been rounded up within hours.

Competence matters.

And why are there vacancies among the prison staff?

Chesco Sheriff Cuts Standards To Draw Deputies

Chesco Sheriff Cuts Standards To Draw Deputies — The Chester County Pa Sheriff Department has a designed a dingbat schemed to end its dearth of deputies.

Undesired publicity leads to desperate measures, we guess.

No longer will those seeking employment for this important law enforcement job need to meet the same certification level as municipal police officers.

Yes, Chesco voters your new deputies will now be more likely to be grifters, incompetent, lazy or violent.

Chesco Sheriff Cuts Standards To Draw Deputies
Problems plague department under Sheriff Fredda Maddox

Actually, all of the above.

The department is down at least 40 deputies.

When Bunny Welsh was sheriff just four years ago the department was fully staffed and highly admired.

When Democrat Fredda Maddox took over things went south. Morale collapsed by all accounts. Nobody wanted to work for her. There was bullying and partisanship.

Fredda is stepping down as sheriff and hoping to step up to Common Pleas Court judge this Nov. 7.

She has hand-picked her assistant Kevin Dykes to be her replacement. He’s said to be just as bad if not worse.

Running against him is Republican Roy Kofroth.

Chesco, you have a choice.

Election Fraud Revealed In Chester County?

Election Fraud Revealed In Chester County? — ChescoUnited discussed , Aug. 10, a canvass of 144 of the 3,115 who voted in 2022 in Chester County, Pa. despite being recorded as having had a change of address.

About 70 percent in the canvass appeared to have moved away for good.

A change of address doesn’t necessarily mean an illegitimate vote. A student returning from college or someone who divides his time between two homes could be in the address change database and still legally vote in Chesco.

The canvassers said, however, they could only ascertain that for about 30 percent.

Which means 70 percent very well may be illegitimate voters.

This is a pretty strong indication of fraud.

Considering the willingness of people to hack an ID for a few thousand dollars why would anyone even question the possibility that some might conspire to steal a government with access to a billion or trillion dollars?

Also revealed was that 40 percent of the world still does not have access to electricity or gas for cooking, and relies on biomass which would be things like wood, charcoal, crop waste and dung.

These are far more polluting that electricity and gas.

Did you know that a natural gas energy plant takes up only a twentieth the land as one that uses solar power?

Chesco Sheriff Morale Issues Mean Rent-A-Cops At Courthouse

Chesco Sheriff Morale Issues Mean Rent-A-Cops At Courthouse — County sheriffs are typically tasked in Pennsylvania to provide courthouse protection but Chester County judges find themselves resorting to private security.

The Chesco Sheriff Department under Fredda Maddox is short 40 deputies. The problems started soon after the Democrat won election in 2019 — replacing Bunny Welsh who declined to seek re-election — and are attributed to bad morale.

Ms. Maddox is not seeking to keep the post this November, however, but is running for county judge.

She has hand-picked Kevin Dykes to be her successor.

Running against Dykes is Republican Roy Kofroth.

Former Deputy Matt Mendenhall posted the below on social media.

To all my friends, family and acquaintances in Chester County PA.

Please vote for Roy Kofroth for Sheriff.

From April of 2017 until June of 2020, I was a proud Chester County deputy sheriff working respectfully under Sheriff Carolyn “Bunny” Welsh.

During that time (September of 2017) I became involved with her K-9 unit and ultimately became a handler working an EDC named “Nero”. Nero and I proved to be an excellent team and provided solid service to all of the citizens of Chester county on a daily basis.

I was promoted to the rank of Corporal of K9 and worked beside some of the best law-enforcement officers anyone would hope to be beside during the worst and best of times.

In December 2019 Sheriff Welsh decided not to run for the position she held honorably for 20+ years and with the utmost integrity and professionalism. Her deputies respected her, she supported all of us and went to war right beside us everyday as a true leader does and anyone working in that office at that time would wholeheartedly agree.

As with any job, there were always a few hiccups here and there, but nothing that we were unable to get through as a team.

Sheriff Welsh retired with the respect of the office and handed the reins over to Sheriff elect Fredda Maddox who appointed Kevin Dykes as her Chief Deputy.

Between January and March of 2020, things declined rapidly under the leadership of Maddox and Dykes, morale was awful and deputies were leaving at an alarming rate to work at other police departments, some even taking a pay cut or choosing p/t to do so.

When they realized where my loyalty fell, they both rather quickly made it a priority to completely destroy my reputation and character, not only as a corporal but also as a friend to other deputies and an award-winning K9 handler with numerous achievements under Sheriff Welsh.

Nero was taken away from me by Dykes and Maddox, there were warnings or no reasons provided to me. They both presented lies to other deputies and command staff about me not wanting him anymore and that I was no longer interested in the unit. This was an absolute distasteful lie that Maddox and Dyke’s presented to my closest co-workers. I sent numerous emails to the sheriff and the chief pleading with them to allow me to keep my position with K9 and to not take Nero away from me. I have several email copies to prove this. I had a one on one meeting with Sheriff Maddox and was still denied the request to remain with my k9 partner.

Matt Mendenhall and Nero

Nero was taken away from me for no reason, whisked away by another Corporal who was also unfortunately lied to and who turned against me. To this day they have never told me where Nero went, who he’s with or what he’s doing and that is what hurts the most.

My family was and is STILL devastated.

As if that wasn’t hurtful enough, I was then falsely accused of starting arguments, making threats and insulting the current Sergeant even though it was quite the opposite, I was relieved of my Corporal duties for reasons unbeknownst to anyone besides them. I was sent to the government service center (GSC) away from everybody to wand people at the entrance before finally resigning in June of 2020 in order to save my career and integrity before becoming completely smeared by Maddox, Dykes and the Sergeant.

To say this was a blow to my 20 year LEO career is an understatement, never during my entire time as a police officer was I ever treated so terribly and embarrassed to wear the uniform. I was unethically written up by incompetent, inexperienced lieutenants (Unrelated to K9) who were too afraid to do the right thing. And for the record to all, Sheriff Welsh also went through the same type of smear campaign run by those who became greedy with power, lies and falsehoods.

So if you’ve made it this far into my post, thank you for sticking with me, I ask all of you please, as someone who has worked directly under Kevin Dykes, I plead with you to not vote for him as Sheriff, whether you’re a Democrat, an Independent or a Republican, PLEASE do not cast your vote for this unethical man

Ask some of the deputies personally if you second-guess anything I’ve stated, there is a reason he was not kept and retained in his former position with the DAs office.

Vote for Roy Kofroth, I know him well, he has great intentions, knows the job and is a man of integrity. He stood beside me during one of the absolute worst times in my career and has the respect of everyone in the office to which Dykes cannot say, again, vote Roy Kofroth for Sheriff and share this with your family and friends, thank you.

Obviously, Mr. Mendenhall comments are personal and subjective, and one can reasonably either accept or reject them.

On the other hand, the Sheriff Department is down 40 deputies and the Courthouse is using private security.

Some more things to consider:

  • For what is Ms. Maddox using the money in the budget for those missing 40 deputies?
  • How much extra is the private security costing the Chesco taxpayer?

If Chester County residents don’t awake from wokeness, the quality of living there is going to drop to the point where one’s former lifestyle will be but a sweet memory.

John Emmons Leaves Chesco; Who Will Replace Him As GOP Exec Vice Chair?

John Emmons Leaves Chesco; Who Will Replace Him As GOP Exec Vice Chair? –John and Alison Emmons now live in Reading in Berks County, we have been told.

They bought the home in March and have been living there since at least May.

So who will be replacing John as Chester County’s executive vice chair? Party by-laws require an appointment be made 30 days after vacancy.

And who will be replacing Alison as Republican Commiteewoman for New London Precinct 395?

John was elected in June 2022 and Alison in the May 2022 primary. Both terms are for two years.

They had lived in New London for more than 20 years. The closing date on their New London home was June 16.

The new residence remains in Pennsylvania’s 6th Congressional District so it would not keep John from an expected rematch with incumbent Democrat Congresswoman Chrissy Houlahan.

The Emmons did return to campaign at their old precinct on May 16, even setting up their traditional tent. The round trip was reportedly two and a half hours.
