Man In Dress Mocks Delco Council For Pregnant Person Wokeness — Sam Smith of Chester put on a dress and make-up, tonight, Oct. 18, and told Delaware County (Pa.) Council that he wanted a doula.
A doula is a professional trained in childbirth who provides emotional, physical, and educational support to a mother who is expecting, is experiencing labor, or has recently given birth.
Sam was taking issue with agenda item 7L concerning hiring five doulas to provide support to 14 “pregnant persons.”
Yes, they used the phrase “pregnant persons” and that’s what Sam was calling out.
Good for him. The twisted souls who cook up phrases like this are vandals no different than a kid spraying painting crap on the wall of a business. Well, they are far, far, far more destructive of course.
And when those like on Delaware County Council, in a moment of weak-minded thoughtlessness, submit to them, mocking’s necessary.
Sam did a fine job.
See below for the video.
In other matters, Giselle Cosentino made a presentation on behalf of the Garrett Williamson Foundation in Newtown Square. The foundation is seeking $45,000 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) money to repair a 200-year-old barn damaged in a tornado in 2019 and to pay for the enrollment of 400 fourth graders from the William Penn School District in the foundation’s school to farm program.
The foundation is on a 250-acre tract on Bishop Hollow Road.
Council unanimously approved the grant.
Helen Kaplonski of the Child Guidance Resource Centers on Old West Chester Pike in Haverford Township sought $87,570 in ARPA money to replace copper window frames installed in 1963.
The grant was approved with Christine A. Reuther abstaining. Ms. Reuther sits on the organization’s board.
The board approved 28 agenda items including 7L and 7k which provided for the training of 18-20 doulas, which is a apparently going to be one per person. The county also want the doulas to be able to overcome language barriers..
Gotta look out for the “pregnant persons”.

Ballot Envelope Questions Lead To Demand For Trial In Delco— A trial is sought to resolve apparent discrepancies between mail-in ballot envelopes photographed, July 18- 19, by citizens, and Delaware County, Pa.’s official records.
The request was made yesterday, Oct. 16, by Greg Stenstrom, Leah Hoopes, Paul Rumley and Joy Schwartz.
All are county residents. Mrs. Schwartz is a Republican candidate for County Council.
The envelopes are from the May 16 election which mostly concerned primaries but included a special election for the 163rd Pennsylvania House race.
The county claims that 26,000 mail-in ballots were cast but less than 10,000 were observed counted at the Wharf center on Election Day, says the filing.
All ballots must be counted under observation after polls close on Election Day.
Delco claims all envelopes were processed on a single BlueCrest sorter, says the filing. The timestamp formatting varied, however. This means other machines were used.
BlueCrest uses the time stamp increments for billing.
Then there is the envelope images released by the county.
“It is a material fact that the majority of MIB (mail-in ballot) envelope images provided by defendants to plaintiffs inexplicably have no date time stamps, while a considerable number of envelope images do have date time stamps, and virtually none match the photographs of MIB envelopes taken by plaintiffs,” says the filing.
The filing also says that there are hundreds of discrepancies between the electronic records and spreadsheets provided by the defendants, and the physical records; that envelope images of November 2022 and May 2023 elections show identical or nearly identical signatures; and that there are substantial reconciliation issues between the spreadsheets and electronic documents with the envelopes, National Change of Address database and “verified” electors.
The request to check envelope signatures was made a short time after the election and was bitterly contested by the county before it caved in July.
On the left was photographed by citizen activists and has a timestamp albeit not in the BlueCrest formatting. On the right is the image of the same envelope provided by the county.
Just You Wait Missy Stollsteimer — Delaware County D.A. Jack Stollsteimer threw another fit this time using the threat of arrest to squelch a confrontation between a citizen and a Democrat legislator.
We suspect Jack would have let it go if the legislator was a R, as he should have unless the pol was being harassed while trying to walk away.
But that is not the case here.
Activist Joe Dychala and State Sen. John Kane exchanged heated words at the Oct. 14 shredding event at Northley Middle School in Aston, Pa.
Joe was upset that Kane — the union boss Democrat who represents the 9th District in which Joe lives –wasn’t letting his staff describe how Gov. Josh Shapiro enacted his motor voter mandate.
Not just without legislative approval but the actual legal mechanism he used, which is not just a matter of curiosity but concern.
Kane didn’t like Joe’s persistence so rather than have a discussion about a legitimate concern with a constituent, he raised his voice and got in Joe’s face.
Joe says Kane was inches away.
Stollsteimer was watching. Rather than tell everyone to chill, he threatened Joe with arrest.
“Arrest me for what? The First Amendment?” Joe asked.
Apparently yes, as Stollsteimer did not backtrack.
So Joe stuck his finger in the D.A.’s face, said “Just you wait, missy”, and walked away.
By the way, it’s not like Jack is some grouchy old guy who does a good job. He’s been a disaster since taking office. Places once considered safe are getting scary, juvenile offenders are being incarcerated where they shouldn’t, and the adult prison is almost a daily human rights violation.
Stollsteimer Woman-Bullying Is Backfiring — The male feminist in his heart hates women. See for example Delaware County, Pa.’s progressive Democrat D.A. Jack Stollsteimer.
Stollsteimer attended the non-partisan Delaware County Bar Association Judicial Retention event, last night, Oct. 4, as did Beth Stefanide, who is the Republican candidate for district attorney.
Beth went to shake his hand, we are told, and Jack went crackers. He berated her screaming “just you wait”. He wagged his finger in her face.
An attorney who works in the district attorney’s office tried to deescalate and later apologized to Beth for his boss’ behavior.
She triggered Mad Jack Stollsteimer
Beth is a mother of three and has a long, well-respected career as an attorney which included time as a prosecutor.
She has refrained from name-calling and personal attacks at Jack.
She has, however, been talking about the 25-percent increase in crime that has occurred on Stollsteimer’s watch, and the general incompetency in Delco’s justice system that has caused death and suffering such as at the prison.
This is obviously hitting a nerve and might indicate the GOP will do better in Delco, Nov. 7, than some think.
And we really doubt Jack would have been this abusive to a man.
Council Candidate Calls Out Delco Virtue Signaling; Why Is County Supporting Transitioning Kids? — A camera crew came to Delaware County (Pa) Council’s Sept. 20 meeting which was kind of strange as there was nothing particularly controversial on the agenda.
Well, there was item 7A which was a resolution condemning all forms of hateful behavior based on race, color, national origin, ancestry, sex, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, disability or religion.
But is that really controversial today?
Anyway, the weirdness increased when a crew member place their own microphone at the podium. The event was being recorded by the county but it seems this group wanted to make sure they got it for themselves.
Whatever could they have been expecting?
The first speaker was Joy Schwartz, a Republican who is running for County Council, Nov. 7.
Did they know she would speak? How could they?
And did they expect her to rant bile like, well, a Democrat?
“You are absolutely right to condemn racism and bigotry and I join you in condemnation of its various forms,” Joy began. “It is vile to divide people into artificial categories with different standards of privilege and treatment. That is the essence of bigotry.”
She said the county was doing just that. She noted that council happily provided a holiday and raised a flag for a trans-activist but rebuffed her request for the raising of the historic Appeal to Heaven flag.
“Is that fair treatment or is that bigotry?” she asked. “It is interesting that the resolution mentions religion last on its list of protected classes.”
She continued:
There is something else I am puzzled about. You need to define “hateful behavior.” Is that thought, word or deed? Is it on social media?
Joy Schwartz withe her former student Kenesha Gales at the Trainer Baconfest
Did Moses commit hateful behavior when he recorded the story of Sodom and Gomorrah?
Did St. Paul commit hateful behavior when he said that certain actions would prevent people from entering heaven?
Is calling out evil hateful behavior?
Is condemning the grooming of children hateful behavior?
Is acknowledgement of biological facts hateful behavior?
And what d0 you do when you observe hateful behavior? Will you go after the haters? Maybe ban them from making public comments?
And how would you gather examples of hateful behavior in order to do that? Would you be doing that through ZenCity AI software?
I also have a comment about Item 10V. The Rosetree Center for Healthy Sexuality. This LLC is encouraging gender transitions for minors and other practices that some would consider immoral.
Oh my goodness!! Did I say something hateful? Did I just commit hateful behavior? Am I going to be banned from public comments? Is this going to ruin my social credit score? I certainly hope not, because then I would have to say goodbye to the First Amendment and hello to the People’s Republic of Delco!”
If the plot with the extra mike was to make Joy look bad, it fizzled.
Council comments at the end of the meeting were strangely reasonable, even informative.
Councilwoman Christine A. Reuther discussed a Children and Youth Services caseworker’s five-page report for August.
“I’m not going to read the whole thing,” she said. “It’s heartbreaking.
She said he was assigned 11 immediate response cases — which are the highest priority ones. Seven cases involved physical abuse of a child and came from hospitals or other mandated reporters. There was a case of a child fatality. There was a case involving the trafficking of a teenage immigrant from Honduras.
She also said there were three cases of children in high-risk-living conditions involving drugs and violence.
She said August is usually considered a slow month.
Coucilman Kevin M. Madden addressed a comment by Carris Kocher who said the way the American flag was displayed in violation of the flag code. Madden conceded that she was right, and that it be fixed.
A liquid natural gas (LNG) terminal being discussed for construction in Chester had been brought up in public comments by a city resident opposed to it.
This opposition makes as much sense as a Jed Clampett opposing an oil well. The world needs Pennsylvania’s natural gas and is willing to pay for it. Build the thing and make sure the people of Chester — and the rest of Delco — get their cut.
And no, Kevin, the people of Chester have not been subject to a history of “environmental racism.” When those polluting shipyards and factories were booming in the 1940s it was a mostly white city. And, don’t be so sure it’s going to stay majority Black. Check out the migration trends.
Are residents of Marcus Hook victims of “environmental racism?” How about those of Tinicum with all those low flying jetliners?
And in another matter Council approved acquiring by eminent domain three properties from unknown owners for the extension of the Chester Creek Trail. The acquisition would be a little more than a tenth of an acre.
Council Candidate Calls Out Delco Virtue Signaling
Delco DA Candidate Blasts Prison Conditions — Beth Stefanide who seeks to unseat Jack Stollsteimer as Delaware County D.A. blistered the management of George W. Hill Correctional Facility where neglect led to the agonizing death of inmate Mustafa Jackson.
Jackson, a 25-year-old paraplegic, was found in his cell on Feb. 12. He was laying face-down in an adult diaper with new and used catheters laying around. His autopsy says he died of urosepsis.
Medical authorities believe the condition is extremely painful and his death was excruciating.
Ms. Stefanide made her remarks at a 1 p.m., today Sept. 21, at a press conference outside the courthouse in Media.
She said that if she should win she would want to be certain that those she sends to the prison are provided safety and get necessary medical treatment.
Since the county took over from GEO Group on April 6, 2022 there have been at least three suicides; a wrong inmate was released, and a man was strangled by his cellmate.
The suicide tally — which occurred in the first 10 months — was the most in the prison in a single year since at least 2015.
The prison went private in 1998.
“These inhuman conditions . . . are going to come back to cost us, the taxpayers,” Ms. Stefanide said.
She said that GEO was on the hook for any lawsuits when it ran things.
“Guess what ladies and gentlemen that’s not the case now,” she said.
Beth Stefanide
Taxpayers can be expected to be shelling out big for the death of Mr. Jackson.
Ms. Stefanide demanded an investigation into his death by the state attorney general, along with a full review of prison policies.
“(Mr. Jackson) deserves justice,” she said. “We need to know what happened.”
The county fought tooth-and-nail the release of Mr. Jackson’s autopsy only surrendering when Commonwealth Court ruled against Allegheny County in July in a similar case.
Warden Laura William
Ms. Stefanide wondered how Laura Williams –who only started her career in corrections in 2014 — became warden.
“I have to question whether Laura Williams is cut out for this job,” she said.
She noted Ms. Williams training is in psychology. As deputy warden at Allegheny County Jail she oversaw health care. The health care manager quit specifically citing Ms. Williams administrative style.
Ms. Stefanide said Ms. Williams is being sued by an Allegheny inmate who had his leg amputated after months of neglect.
Ms. Stefanide said that the county is now spending $60 million to run the prison despite a record low population of 820 inmates.
It held 1900 inmates on a budget of $43 million when the county took over.
She said prison management was a serious matter and cited the turmoil, cost and fear in Chester County and southwest Delco that occurred in the two weeks murderer Danelo Cavalcante was on the lam.
County Council candidate Jeff Jones also spoke noting the culpability council has for what has been occurring.
Jones and Ms. Stefanide are Republicans. The election is Nov. 7. Running with Jones for council are Joy Schwartz and Bill Dennon. Running for Common Pleas Court Judge is Dawn Getty Sutphin.
Mustafa Jackson Autopsy Shows Painful Death At Delco Prison — The autopsy of Mustafa Jackson is finally public thanks to the persistence of Broad + Liberty, and why the Dem-run Delaware County (Pa.) Council didn’t want this is quite clear.
Jackson, a 25-year-old paraplegic, was found dead in his cell at George Hill Correctional Facility on Feb. 12. He was laying face-down in an adult diaper with new and used catheters laying around. His autopsy says he died of urosepsis. Medical authorities believe the condition is extremely painful and his death was excruciating.
“Only Mustafa and God know how long it took him to die,” says Wally Nunn.
The County fought Broad+Liberty’s request for the autopsy results until a July ruling by Commonwealth Court in a separate case from Allegheny County.
Delco saw the writing on the wall and surrendered.
Why was this allowed to happen? Indifference? Incompetence? Both?
Delco took over operations of the prison on April 6, 2022. It had been private since 1998 when Nunn was chairman of Delco Council.
Nunn, in his Broad+Liberty article notes that in first ten months of government management three suicides — a tally not seen in a single year dating to at least 2015; the jail released the wrong inmate, and a homicide was recorded when an inmate strangled his cellmate.
He noted that the prison staff has voice dire concerns about conditions.
“We are… in fear of our safety on this job,” said Correction Officer Albert Johnson told County Council in December. “As of yesterday, two inmates stabbed. There have been more deaths in this prison since the county has come on. We are fearful for our lives… We get feces, we get urine thrown on us on a daily basis.”
He points out that Warden Laura Williams was subject of complaints at her previous post as chief deputy warden at Allegheny County Jail but the Delco hired her anyway.
Did you know she got the job with Delco despite having started her career in corrections in 2014 as a substance abuse counselor? That would mean she had but eight years experience before taking charge of one of a pretty significant government facility.
You think maybe she might have needed a bit more seasoning considering the medical indifference, murders, suicides and such that have occurred on her watch?
What could Delco Council have been thinking? It certainly wasn’t about the public.
Or the inmates.
Or the staff.
Nunn notes that the County spent $76 per day to house a prisoner in 2019. It’s now about $115 per day and climbing.
Delco Woman Describes Trauma Suffered In Sanctuary County — Sharon Devaney is the inaugural guest on Communityreviews.org Podcast which aired today, Sept. 11.
Sharon describes the on-going misery she is experiencing stemming from an April 10, 2017 accident in Haverford Township, Pa. in which her car was struck by one driven by an illegal alien as she drove her daughter to her parents.
Sharon was left crippled by the crash and suffered cancelling on social media and other orchestrated attacks when she spoke out against illegal immigration.
Police had refused to arrest the driver who was from Trinidad and Tobago since Delaware County, where Haverford is located, is a sanctuary county.
Sharon said she also experienced cancelling when she notedthat Delco’s congresswoman, Mary Gay Scanlon (D-Pa5) is supporter of Marxist groups.
She said that her children’s books began getting bad reviews on Amazon, whereas before they were universally praised.
Drexel Hill ShopRite Reopening — The ShopRite on State Road in Drexel Hill had its grand reopening 9 o’clock this morning, Sept. 1. It was thronged and parking spots were hard to find. The aisles were wider and things were shinier but we kind of miss the old store.
Great Replacement In Chester Pa? — Upland Mayor and Delaware County Council candidate Bill Dennon tells us that immigrants — mostly apparently from Guatemala — are being moved to Chester, Pa. under the noses of its residents.
Bill says these people are being sheltered in decrepit housing and living in squalor.
Mayor Thaddeus Kirkland seems indifferent but then he is a lame duck and when did he ever care about anything anyway?
For what it’s worth, the Democrat-controlled Delaware County Council is also shrugging its shoulders.
