Smerconish Gone From WPHT — Teri Adams of the Independence Hall Tea Party Association tells us that as of yesterday, April 15, WPHT 1210 AM has a new daily lineup that does not feature Michael Smerconish, who has apparently invested the 30 pieces of silver he has earned over the last five years into a podcast.
Chris Stigall runs from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.; the always great Dom Giordano adds another hour and runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and national pundit Dick Morris joins Gary R’nel from 2 to 6 p.m.
Rush Limbaugh is moving back to FM in Philly where he lived through most of the ’90s if reports are accurate.
It has been confirmed that Premiere Media, which syndicates Rush, will be pulling him off WPHT at 1210AM, which carried him since 1999 when he left WWDB on 96.5 FM, which is now the hip-hop station WRDW.
Dom Giordano Hecht Of An Announcer — Congratulations to Dom Giordano of WPHT 1210AM for winning the Ben Hecht Award for Outstanding Journalism, which is presented by The Philadelphia District of the Zionist Organization of America, a
non-profit group that concentrates on education, advocacy and outreach
on behalf of Israel and a strong and mutually beneficial U.S.-Israel
Hecht is best known for his screenplays which include Scarface (the original); Notorious and, most iconically, The Front Page and His Gal Friday.
Before becoming the toast of Hollywood Hecht made his fame as a Hildy-Johnson-type Chicago journalist.
Hecht, who was Jewish, was a notable supporter of Israel during the nation’s birth pangs.
