Congressman Pat Meehan (R-Pa7) has taken the lead in demanding reforms following a scathing report by the Department of Veterans Affairs regarding the Philadelphia Veterans Administration’s benefits office.
Meehan during a recent hearing points out the investigators “serious mistrust and fear of reprisals” Below is the video:
Hat tip R.M.
What needs to happen is that the hearings need to stop and action must begin. Those responsible–and that would be any in top management positions within the facilities and the top level bureaucrats in the agency–need to be escorted out of their buildings by security (like would happen in a private corporation where there was accountability), fired on the spot and their pensions taken away. The VA would then become the most efficient, well oiled agency providing the best services of anyplace in the world. Government hacks live for their pensions. Take them away–why can’t our elected officials figure this out? Haven’t any of them ever worked in the private sector?
That’s part of the problem, Mary Ellen, the alleged “elected officials” are also “government hacks” living for their pensions and benefits.
