Obama DOJ Not To Enforce Law Requiring Cleaning Voting Lists

The Obama administration has directed Department of Justice staffers not to enforce the law requiring  lists of dead or inactive voters be expunged, according to J. Christian Adams, the  DOJ official whose May 14 resignation stems from the administration’s squelching of voter intimidation charges against members of the New Black Panther Party for an incident that occurred on Election Day 2008 in Philadelphia.

The requirement is mandated by the 1993 Motor Voter Act.

Adams says the order was given last November at a meeting of the DOJ’s Voting Section convened by Deputy Assistant Attorney General Julie Fernandes, a political appointee.

Adams quoted her as saying “We have no interest in enforcing this provision of the law. It has nothing to do with increasing turnout, and we are just not going to do it.”

Adams says the jaws of Voting Staff collectively dropped.

Adams says he expects the matter to be corroborated by the many honest staff members in attendance, and notes that since the announcement the DOJ has not filed a single case regarding the Motor Voter provision.

Even more damming, Attorney General Eric Holder has dismissed a case started by the Bush Administration regarding voter roll expunging in Missouri. Adams says that in many places in Missouri there are more voters than humans with heartbeats.

Christopher Coates Removed From Post

Christopher Coates Removed From Post — Christopher Coates, the man  who approved the civil rights complaint against New Black Panther Party for its behavior at a Philadelphia polling place in the November 2008 election, has been removed from his post as chief of the Voting Section of the Justice Department. Reportedly he is being transferred to the U.S. attorney’s office in South Carolina.

Deputy Chief Chris Herren is now acting chief.

The complaint was made after members of the New Black Panther Party wearing  military garb waved nightsticks and made racially-tinged remarks to voters.

The incident was videotaped and widely viewed on the internet.

The complaint was dismissed in May after Associate Attorney General Thomas Perrell, an Obama appointee, overruled six career lawyers who
were recommending it go forward.

NY-23 Voting Hack 2009

NY-23 Voting Hack — It was claimed that voting machines used in the New York 23rd District congressional race had a computer virus.

The claim has since been rebutted.

The race appears to have been won by Democrat Bill Owens albeit absentee votes are still being counted.

Second place finisher Conservative Doug Hoffman conceded on Election Night after being given erroneous vote tallies.

The Republican,  Dede Scozzafava, finished a distant third and ended up endorsing the Democrat. The votes that went to her would have easily put Hoffman over the top.

And I really don’t think these machines were hooked up to the internet or receiving emails.

Kevin Ferris Asks Why Obama Ignores Voter Intimidation

And with regard to the Inky, kudos to Kevin Ferris for his column today regarding the Obama administration strange dismissal of civil rights complaints against members of the New Black Panther Party for actions taken last Election Day at a polling place at 1221 Fairmount St., Philadelphia.

Samir Shabazz,  and Jerry Jackson dressed in paramilitary style uniforms and made racially disparaging comments and threats at voters while brandishing night sticks.

Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. dismissed the complaints filed by the victims last May and won’t say why. Ferris is asking as  should all who love democracy.
