I have heard that as much as 90% of the professors in our universities vote as Democrats.
They, of course, brainwash our children to think in the liberal manner.
Imagine if the ratio were shifted to, say, 60% Democrat! Better yet, 50-50!
How to get academia to hire more profs to tell “the other side of the story?”
It would take a grass-roots movement (Fox? Rush?) to purge academia, in which Dad and Mom would press the issue of “Balance in Education.” It’s usually the parents who pay the eductaion bills, so they should be concerned. In fact, there have been signs recently of parents looking for ways to maximize their college investments by negotiating with second-choice schools. Why not demand to know the “political environment and policies” of schools?
The purge could even find its way into high schools!
Think about what it would be like if our younger voters were not so religiously liberal. (Example: Hollywood, which targets everything to the 17 – 25 year-old market, would have to alter story plots to reflect their audiences’ tastes. Maybe now and then the bad guy wouldn’t be a bald, old white man. Maybe movies would even stop blaming America for every problem in the world!)
This would be a change we could really use.
Have you noticed that most of the democratic voters are in metropolitan areas. Heavy on the east and west coast. The republican voters are more rural. That is because the more intelligent people tend to live in metropolitan areas because that is where the jobs are. Teachers are more intelligent and tend to be democratic. Even with all the money and the right wing media Obama won. You are on the losing side trying to come up with some evil reason why your party lost, just like Romney’s gifts comments. Even 50% of the 2% are democratic and voted for Obama. You have Fox films that are very popular than show your point of view. Do you get the picture, if you were smart you would vote democratic.
I certainly noticed that certain precincts in certain metropolitan areas went 100 percent for Obama.
It is comforting to learn that that is where the brilliant people who teach in our public schools reside.

Perhaps we should just abandon our failing education system and just send all of our kids to Finland where the kids receive a far superior education than that afforded to American children. Other suggestions would be Australia, Canada, New Zealand The Netherlands,Singapore or even South Korea. All of those countries far surpass America when it come to educating our children.
Of course, if it would make Liz happy, we could send them all to Cuba for more of the same stuff they get here.

I was already liberal before I went to school – I just learned to speak out when I left springfield. My professors are liberal yes, but they are also very smart and don’t push their views on us like you do. A girl in my major department is the head of the pro-life club.
I love these kinds of teachers and hate the conservative ones who talk instead of listening to the students opinion. This site is so conservative and horribly biased against liberals. But then again, us liberals are just stupid, ass fucking, AIDS ridden morons.

I’m not being brainwashed into anything. Yes, my professors are liberal, but I already was before I left home. I just learned to speak out on it more. Also, I have had conservative profs. It depends on the department.

I’m very liberal and proud of it. Nobody is brainwashed into anything. My profs are open to debating both sides whereas the conservative ones I’ve had are very bossy and only hear their side.
Contrary to what you may think, us liberals don’t sit around chanting santinic rituals and aborting fetuses. We’re very smart and obviously what America wanted. You didn’t act like this when Bush won, even though he didn’t win fairly. You still liked him and were happy.

As I said before the GOP need to rein in these extremist right wing groups. Find candidates that can actually win without redistricting and voter suppression. Tom Smith and Mit Romney are very poor examples. I will compare my credentials with anyone. As a single mom I paid for all three of my children to go to college and bought them all a house. While making 60% as much as my male co-workers. The democrats are gaining strength and will soon out vote the republicans in the mid-term elections. You need to serve all the voters not just like minded ones. Interesting that you talk about the importance of education while Corbett wants to cut the education budget.

This is the problem, the election is over, now is the time to work together to solve the problems. There is no my side your side it is WE THE PEOPLE. Grow up!! Be an adult for a change. I want to improve the economy, I want to be able to fix my car so it uses less gas. I want solar energy. I want something to fix the mortgage crisis. Banks aren’t leaning. I want the job market to improve. Stop the name calling and do something useful. Tell your congressmen to stop fighting and do their job. That’s what we voted for.

BTW, if you want solar energy nobody is stopping you. Home Depot has a 60-watt solar panel kit for $300. Set it up and you can run a light bulb off the grid and save the earth.

No I want a real solar system and be able to sell excess to the grid like they have in Europe. Not the toys that we can buy now. The one I want is illegal.

I think everywhere in the USA, you can hook your home solar energy system to the grid and sell back the excess. By law, the electric company has to buy it.
In reality wind and solar power technology just isn’t here, yet.
For the homeowner, even with government subsidies, it is a break-even deal in most cases.
Spain made a major effort to produce energy using solar power, but in the end it was a money losing proposition. They are cutting back on it, because they can’t afford the subsidies.
Google Germany, their systems cost 20% of ours. Permitting, licensing, connecting to the grid and other business processes costs are the problem along with costly instalation (Soft costs).
So labor and government red tape are the reasons why a fraction of 1 percent of our energy production is solar.
Since you don’t want to take the initiative and install an efficient cost-effective — as you seem to be claiming — solar system on your home, maybe you can petition your state legislators to end prevailing wage to bring down the cost of installing them on government buildings.
BTW, nobody is opposed to solar energy. The problem is government involvement is counter productive and leads to graft and wasted effort. Look at the massive corruption in the Obama administration involving it.
I see no evidence that their systems cost 20% of ours. I see that the systems are subsidized by a surcharge that increase residential bills by 10-15%.
I see that systems have come down in prices 50% in the last 5 years due to technological advances and Chinese mass production. This is true world wide, not just in Germany.
Permitting and licensing costs are government charges (the people you want in charge of health care) and connecting to the grid is a safety issue both for the grid and the homeowner. People die if it is not done correctly.
I see no evidence that those costs are any cheaper in Germany, although they may be subsidized.
Germany already has very expensive energy rates, so solar energy is more competitive, there.
Currently, solar energy is still significantly more expensive than current energy generation sources, and require government subsidy to be competitive.
I hope (and think) that in the near future that solar energy does become cheap energy. I think i would be great if residences could generate most of their own energy needs. Solar energy is great in that it usually corresponds to peak power needs.
But don’t forget that the systems need maintenance. Are you looking forward to shoveling the snow off your roof, as well as your driveway? How about leaves and dirt?
I still want to know which kind of solar energy system you want that is illegal in the U.S.
