Shapiro Institutes Driver License Voter Registration —Gov. Josh Shapiro just announced that eligible voters getting a new driver’s license or ID card in Pennsylvania are now automatically registered to vote.
It’s an unwise tone-deaf thing to do considering the vast number with suspicions about the integrity of our elections.
Unless of course, the idea is to create permanently rigged elections.
ChescoUnited recently described how a whole lot of registered voters don’t know they vote.
Just wait until Pennsylvania start giving illegals driver’s licenses.
Yeah, that is in the works, and will happen if the Democrats manage to take the State Senate.
Here is a list of states that give illegals drivers licenses.

Poor Lawrence Tabas. He faces a Republican mess in Butler County.
The Pennsylvania GOP Chairman’s head must be spinning 360 degrees 24/7.
Butler County is a GOP stronghold north of Pittsburgh.
MAGA Republicans took control of the party last summer with Gary Vanasdale becoming chairman.
The May 16 primary occurred without controversy and District Attorney Richard Goldinger, who held the post since 2007, appeared to be waltzing to another term without a Democrat to be seen in oppostion.
But then Vanasdale’s wife, Jennifer, decided to run against him as an independent claiming he was soft on crime.
The howls quickly came and the State Party heard them.
Vanasdale offered to take a leave of absence until after the election with Internal Vice Chairman Chester Jack filling in.
Not good enough said the State Party.
It demanded that Vanasdale support Goldinger over his wife and that was something he wouldn’t do.
And now according to Corey Check –who had chaired the county’s Southeast District until a few days ago — the State Party has dissolved the county party and is holding a reorganization meeting next Monday, Sept. 25.
Check suspects the motive is deeper and uglier than just maintaining party discipline.
“The establishment is united to maintain the status quo,” said Check. “This is our fundamental disagreement. We want to change the status quo and let the people decide.”
Check, who is 21, thinks party leadership’s motivation is power and not service. He says they are not encouraging youth involvement unlike the Democrats.
The kids, though, are taking their own initiative.
Check notes that three 20-something conservatives ran in GOP ballot in Butler, this primary.
Really Larry, the smart play would have been to keep your nose out of it and let Chester Jack handle things until after the election. Vanasdale’s side won fair and square last summer, after all.

“If we don’t believe in free expression for people we despise, we don’t believe in it at all.” — Noam Chomsky
Hate speech, as long as it’s only speech, is reprehensible and regrettable, but not illegal, at least in the U.S.
Now we get to Bloodandfaith.com, a podcast by Fritz Berggren.
Six years of “The Jews worship Satan and they’re Satan’s own children” just might qualify as hate speech.
So why does this particular hate speech matter more than other?
Berggren is a long-term employee of the U.S. State Department. He was removed from the Bahrain embassy after complaints from fellow workers yet he remains working to represent America’s interests abroad.
This is despite 70 members of Congress in 2021 and 2022 urging he be canned.
More than 70 State Department staffers in 2021 called on Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, who is Jewish, to take action.
Nothing happened.
Berggren received a PhD in 2001 from the University of Miami. He is married with four children.
His connections with the U.S. State Department were outed by Politico.
We recently saw The House on Carroll Street which was based on Operation Paperclip, in which the government brought 16,000 former Nazis into America in the 1950s. entailed the US Government bringing approximately
Berggren is also anti-LGBTQ, anti African-Americans, and anti anyone who is not a white Christian supremacist. His belief is that “Jesus Christ came to save the world from the Jews” — ignoring the fact that Jesus himself was Jewish, as was made very clear to me when I was being harangued by a chapter of Jews for Jesus.
Possibly the U.S. State Department is constrained by the First Amendment. Any thoughts?

Answer to yesterday’s William Lawrence Sr Cryptowit quote puzzle: Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.

Flannery O’Connor And The Cross She Carried — “Whoever loses his life for my sake and the Gospel’s will save it.”
One who knew the meaning of Jesus’ words so well was Flannery O’Connor, the distinguished Catholic novelist who died in 1964 at the age of 39. From the age of 25 she lived with the knowledge she had a terminal disease, Lupus, not to mention her sufferings from bone disintegration, shingles, anemia and a tumor.
Yet it was during 14 years of sickness and suffering that she produced her greatest works of literary art. Her strong faith enabled her to say: “I have never been anywhere but sick. In a sense sickness is a place, more instructive than a long trip to Europe. Sickness before death is a very appropriate thing and I think those who don’t have it miss one of God’s mercies . . .”
Those are strong words! How could a young woman call sickness one of God’s mercies? Yet Jesus’ words in the Gospel are just as strong: If a man wishes to come after me, he must deny his very self, take up his cross, and follow in my steps.
In some way, Flannery O’Connor was able to accept the cross of her sickness and follow in the Lord’s footsteps. But she didn’t do it with a nice sweet smile on her face. She did it with strong courage and conviction. She realized that her own sickness was the very thing that helped her to look at life around her with eyes of faith; and to translate that life into literary pages that would win her international fame as a writer.
Each one of us is called upon to carry a cross in our life at some time. For some it may be the cross of emotional or spiritual suffering, rather than physical suffering. Sometings there are big crosses, sometimes small.
Whatever their size, Jesus calls upon us to carry them.

Suit Seeks Lifetime Ban On 2 Chesco Commissioners — Chesco resident William R. Borton, Sept. 11, filed a petition for declaratory judgement in the county’s Common Pleas Court that Chester County commissioners Marian Moskowitz and Joshua Maxwell be forever banned from holding public office in Pennsylvania.
Ms. Moskowitz and Maxwell in their role as members of the Board of Elections certified the Nov. 8, 2022 election while petitions for recounts were outstanding, says Borton in his filing.
Judge Jeffrey Sommer scheduled a hearing, Nov. 21, and the Election Board was immediately informed via a hand-delivered copy of the order.
Election law expressly states that boards of elections may not certify while recount petitions are pending.
Ms. Moskowitz and Maxwell filed a request on Nov. 23 asking the court to dismiss the petitions but Sommer scheduled a hearing on Dec. 5.
Regardless, the board certified the election on Nov. 28 despite Commissioner Michelle Kichline’s vehement dissent out of concern that it would be a violation of election law.
Her dissent can be seen here starting at 1:08:20
Borton, in his filing says a recount could have been done in a day.
Sommer dismissed the recount request on Dec. 12, and those seeking them appealed to Commonwealth Court, which overturned Sommer’s decision.
Ms. Moskowitz and Maxwell then appealed to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court which vacated the Commonwealth Court decision without a hearing.
Justices Sallie Updyke Mundy and P. Kevin Brobson dissented. Justice Mundy noted that the action of the court broke with its traditional process.
Borton wants the lifetime ban based on Section 1851 of the state election code which provides that Any person who shall, while a candidate for office, be guilty of bribery, fraud or willful violation of any provision of this act, shall be forever disqualified from holding said office or any other office of trust or profit in this Commonwealth.
This should especially apply to members of election boards, he says.
Ms. Moskowitz and Maxwell are seeking re-election this November.
The docket number is 2023-067732-M.
