Google Searches Drop After Damore Firing

Google Searches Drop After Damore Firing — Google searches are way down here.  In late July, 95 percent of searches for stories on this site were via Google and this overwhelming percentage held through early August.

On Aug. 7, Google fired engineer James Damore after his internal memo warning of a poisonously politically correct culture at the corporate giant went public. Along with causing anger at the action’s hypocrisy and injustice, it woke many to the claims that Google was actively seeking to harm websites that didn’t share their political views, something we find easy to believe.

For the next several days, Google continued to dominate. On Aug. 13, however, something unprecedented occurred. More arrived here via other search engines — mostly DuckDuckGo, Bing and Yahoo — than Google.

Google soon regained it’s prime spot but no longer did it overwhelm. Since Aug. 13, only about 57 percent of those finding us were by Google.

Oh, and more are finding us via search engines, strangely enough.

We happily use Paoli Pa.-based DuckDuckGo for our searches. We have no idea what their politics are but we trust them to be fair.

Here is a link to a BusinessInsider interview with Damore which is worth watching.

How big is the Amazon River, you ask. Really big! Over 4,000 miles longer than I-80 which connects the east and west coasts. It holds more water than the Nile, Mississippi and Yangtze rivers put together.

Richard Spencer Margaret Sanger Same

Richard Spencer Margaret Sanger Same — The odious Richard B. Spencer who has became the face of the “alt right” has the same views about things as Margaret Sanger.

He is a racist, an atheist and supports unrestricted abortion because he feels it means fewer minorities.

Just like Sanger.

He may be right that Obama’s immigration policy was bad news — tell us again what is good about Jihadists living here — but otherwise he completely creeps us out.

He has far more in common with the pro-abortion, atheistic left.  We wouldn’t even be surprised to learn he thought the Second Amendment didn’t apply to blacks — a view historically held by progressive types.

Spencer and Antifa deserve each other.

Property Tax Amendment On Nov. 7 Ballot

Property Tax Amendment On Nov. 7 Ballot — An amendment to Pennsylvania’s constitution will be up for approval, Nov. 7, that may make debate about a state-wide ban on school property tax moot if it should pass.

Ending the property tax as a means of funding schools has been on the legislative agenda since at least 2012.  The bills have been called the Property Tax Independence Act and have had the number 76 in their name.

The amendment, sponsored by Rep. David Maloney (R-130), would change Article VIII of the state constitution to allow local taxing authorities to exclude from taxation an amount based on the assessed value of homestead property.

Existing law now caps the exclusion at 50 percent.

Implementation would require the General Assembly to pass enabling legislation to establish guidelines for local jurisdictions to follow if the amendment should pass.

John Cruaxe Simple Shrimp N Grits

John Cruaxe Shrimp N Grits — John Cruaxe had just received disturbing news. Cruaxe was the fatherly founder of a small, but highly respected and profitable, Silicon Valley computer company.

The aggressive little firm managed to remain a step ahead of the industry giants in many important computer developments. Much of the credit was awarded to Phil Dillon, a brilliant young scientist who was forever “pulling money-making rabbits out of a hat.”

Dillon, who had a beautiful wife and pretty daughter, had in the past a ready smile for everyone, despite the seriousness of his work.

But lately, the smile had been replaced by a worried frown.

Cruaxe now apparently knew why. The company’s general manager had turned in a report that revealed that Dillon had met with representatives of a Japanese competitor on several occasions. The report, prepared by Cruaxe’s security personnel, also showed that Dillon was a heavy gambler and was in debt to the tune of over $100,000.

The general manager insisted that Dillon be fired immediately.

Cruaxe, in a quiet voice, said, “Let’s find out a bit more, before we do anything. I look upon this company as I do my own body. If something ailed my arm, I would try to heal it, before I cut it off.”

Cruaxe called the young computer scientist into his office and confronted him with the evidence gathered by the security department.

Dillon broke down. Between sobs, he explained how the Reno gambling tables drew him as a magnet would a piece of iron. How he began placing larger bets in an attempt to recoup his losses. How he began arguing with his wife. He was very unhappy. He swore, however, that although tempted, he never betrayed Cruaxe or the company.

Cruaxe smiled. He wrote out a check to cover the gambling losses. He then gave Dillon a large raise that would be taken out of his pay each week to repay the gambling loan. He then promised Dillon a five percent ownership in the company if he would join Gamblers Anonymous to cure the destructive malady.

Within a few weeks, Dillon was smiling and again pulling money-making rabbits out of his hat. One idea alone was worth over $500,000.

To celebrate, Cruaxe, a native-born South Carolinian, held a weekend barbecue for the entire staff. Spareribs, steak and chicken were served but the real hit of the event was the very simple shrimp and grits recipe passed onto him by his father.

John made this without meat although adding bacon is always good.

Take the amount of shrimp you want, lightly pepper them and smother them in garlic powder.

Then cook the grits according to the directions on the box except substitute chicken broth for water.

When the broth is absorbed mix in cheese — cheddar is best and the amount is your call —  and cook until  incorporated stirring frequently.

While you are incorporating the cheese, heat butter (or oil) in a very hot pan and put in the shrimp. Cook them for a minute or two on each side. Plate the grits — or put them in a large bucket for a barbecue — and add the shrimp.

Sheriff Bunny Welsh

Bunny Welsh Attack Backfiring — The very decent Chesco Sheriff Bunny Welsh got grief from the usual suspects after she noted on Facebook that she bought Dinesh D’Souza’s new book The Big Lie: Exposing the Nazi Roots of the American Left and attached a photo.

It was offensive after the Charlottesville riots, they said.

She also committed the mortal sin of “liking” a Facebook post by commentator Kevin Martin, who is black, in which Martin said:

The reason why the KKK, Neo-Nazis, and white supremacists are so freely called out and condemned by politicians, while Black Lives Matter, and Antifa aren’t, is because the KKK, Neo-Nazis and white supremacist pose no real imminent threat to property, and human life Antifa and BLM, Do.

And Martin is 100 percent right of course. The KKK and Nazis have today devolved into disorganized gaggles of incompetents, the smartest of which would have an IQ barely above room temperature on a cool day. They would have trouble disrupting a church picnic.

Antifa and BLM, however, are organized and funded by pros with a concise agenda. They are truly dangerous to every decent person of whatever race, gender or sexual orientation who wants to live at peace with his neighbor.

Well now, Sheriff Welsh’s name is getting out there. The Philadelphia Inquirer has written a relatively fair piece. and she has appeared on Dom Giordano and Chris Stigall.

She has told us the feedback she is getting from the public is almost 100 percent positive. There is, of course,  the usual suspects who are long-known and who no longer have a sting despite their prolific use of vicious words and their willingness to slander.

If the usual suspects are not careful they will succeed in removing her as sheriff — by putting her in Congress or Harrisburg.

James Fields Acquittal What If

James Fields Acquittal What If — James Fields Jr., the driver of the car that killed Heather Heyer during Saturday’s riots in Charlottesville, Va, may be the most hated man in America. Media outlets are calling him sans qualification a “neo Nazi” and “white supremacist”. The President, himself, has been backed into calling him a terrorist and murderer not necessarily to the joy of the prosecutors who are going to find it that much harder to find an untainted jury.

It would be the ultimate display of hipster irony if the progressives broke into the jail and hanged him from a lamppost.

Fields is charged with second degree murder, three counts of malicious wounding and failure to stop in an accident that resulted in death.

FindLaw.com says second degree murder is ordinarily defined as: 1) an intentional killing that is not premeditated or planned, nor committed in a reasonable “heat of passion”; or 2) a killing caused by dangerous conduct and the offender’s obvious lack of concern for human life.

From the videos all of us have seen, it certainly fits but here’s a thought that will make certain heads spin: what if he’s acquitted?  What if his motivation wasn’t to cause harm but to flee danger as some tweets at the time seem to indicate? If he can show this, he will be acquitted of the murder charge and probably everything else.

So hipsters, progressives and media pundits, get your torches and clubs and rope and break into that jail now if you want done what you’ve already made your minds up about must be done.

Or else just ask what Clarence Darrow would do and let a trial happen. If Fields is found guilty he’ll be punished as deserved.
