Coach Sexual Relations Now Pa Felony

Gov. Tom Corbett signed Act 56, June 18, and it is now a third-degree felony for a  “sports official, volunteer or employee of a nonprofit or for-profit sports program” to engage in sexual intercourse, deviate sexual intercourse or indecent contact with a child under the 18 years of age who is participating in a sports program, according to State Rep. Jim Cox (R-129).

If the child is under the age of 16, sentencing requires a mandatory minimum of two, five or 10 years in prison depending on the specifics.

Cox says the law was necessary as sometimes officials have relations with athletes who are past the age of consent, which is 16 in Pennsylvania.

A coach who had relations with a person  16 or 17 years old would have been liable for corruption of minors, which is but a third-degree misdemeanor.

The law started as HB 112 introduced by Rep. Mike Vereb (R-150) on Jan. 15, 2013 and was inspired by a Montgomery County case in which a private volleyball coach was arrested for having unlawful sexual relations with a 15-year-old player.

It passed the House 197-0 on Nov. 13 and the Senate 45-1 on June 4. Sen. Stewart Greeleaf (R-12) was the dissenter.

All VA Executives Rated High Under Obama

The Department of Veterans Affairs has 470 senior executives. The New York Times reports that every single of them got a “fully successful” or better rating over the last four years.

And this is while data was being manipulated, whistleblowers were being hounded and veterans were dying.

The Obama administration was aware of the problem since at least 2012. It didn’t matter. The bureaucrats happily got their kudos and bonuses.

Last month, Senate Democrats led by Harry Reid with a wink and a nod from the President killed a bill to give the Veterans Affairs secretary the power to fire or demote VA executives for poor performance.

The bureaucrats must be protected as they are the backbone of the new feudal system, one supposes.

TISA Draft Sparks WikiLeaks Paranoia

The leaking of a draft of an international Trade in Service Agreement (TISA) by WikiLeaks is getting press.

The agreement would allow service-based companies — which include insurance, audiovisual, financial, information technology, express deliver and telecommunication firms — greater access to customers in other nations.

This would  be especially helpful to American firms.

WikiLeaks, the site founded by America-hating-whackjob  Julian Paul Assange, is quite angry about the agreement and is crying conspiracy.

A couple of questions to ponder:

When are drafts of agreements ever released to the public?

Why if it is such a big secret was the U.S. Chamber of Commerce praising the plan in a press release four months ago?

WikiLeaks can be described as a site dedicated to the selective leaking of documents designed to make the United States look bad. It has but 225 pages related to the People’s Republic of China, that bastion of sweetness and light, versus 9,720 pages to items the United States would have preferred to  have been kept under wraps.

By the way, most of the PRC stuff was leaked from the U.S.

For the conspiracy minded, WikiLeak’s TISA leak was done on June 19 and can be found here.

Summer 2014 Starts Now

Summer 2014 Starts Now

Summer 2014 starts at 6:51 a.m. EDT, June 21, which is right now if our internet service provider’s clock is accurate.

This means that tilt of Earth’s semi-axis is most inclined to the sun in the Northern Hemisphere which is a solstice.

The axis will in a few moments slowly start reversing itself until it is the Southern Hemisphere that is most inclined to the sun.

The would be the start of our winter (and Australia’s summer).

Today is the longest day of the year. Don’t expect the real heat to start happening for several more weeks, however. It takes a while for the ground to absorb all that solar energy and it is the ground that really makes things hot.

In Europe summer was traditionally considered to start May 1 which is why today is often referred to as “Midsummer.

This reckoning is still used in Ireland.

Some music to start the season:

Hillary Smeared 12 Year Old Rape Victim

In 1975, Hillary Clinton,  then Hillary Rodham , accepted Thomas Alfred Taylor as her client. Taylor was accused of raping a 12-year-old girl.

Miss Rodham got his first degree rape charge knocked down to unlawful fondling of a child and Taylor ended up spending less than a year in county prison.

She did this by telling the judge that the girl had an infatuation with older men and had lied in the past about sexual assault.

The girl grew to be a troubled woman and found herself in prison not that long ago. She was approached by Glen Thrush , a reporter from Newsday, in 2008 and shown the affidavit Miss Rodham submitted. It was the first time she had seen it as the case never went to trial and she was a minor.

The revelation shocked her according to the Thrush. She had never before accused anyone of sexual assault. She did not fantasize about older men.

Apparently, the woman who wants to be queen made the whole thing up and a destroyed a young girl.

In the 1980s, Mrs. Clinton discussed the matter with a reporter which was recorded on tape. She said her client passed a lie detector test.

“(It)  forever destroyed my faith in polygraphs,” she said laughing.

Taylor, who has died, was alive at the time. Of course, if Mrs. Clinton was willing to crush a young girl to advance her career why should she care about attorney-client privilege?

It’s hard to imagine Mrs. Clinton as a worse president than Barack Obama but one can’t see her being much better either.

The Democrat Party is the home of sociopaths who have no problem selling the rest of us if it advances themselves.

There are the Clintons, and there is Obama who ignored problems at the VA even when vets were dying and who sicced the IRS on his critics.  There is John “Jenghis Khan” Kerry who made up stories about Vietnam making himself a hero and everyone else a monster. There is Al Gore who parlayed a global warming scam into a TV network which he sold to oil-rich Arabs for a half-billion bucks so they can spread the propaganda of Al Jazeera.

Just keep telling yourself character doesn’t matter in our leaders and continue to vote Democrat. Try not to think of the children while doing so, however. You would find sleeping difficult if you should.

Phew! It was against the law to take a bath in Spain during the 17th and 18th centuries.

(Don’t laugh too hard. It remains illegal to take a bath in Boston unless ordered so by a physician according to many sites on the web.)

He liked Dunkin' Donuts and Folgers (four stars out of five apiece), albeit with a bit of snark, and gave a passable review to McDonald's (three and a half stars). Making Kids Love Brushing Teeth

Way back  before the internet ruled when newspapers thrived, editors would receive free copy courtesy of North American Precis Syndicate with plugs for businesses wrapped in useful advice.

The smaller papers were special targets.

By 2001, the copy was arriving on CDs. We recently found one from May of that year and we share for the sake of history this tidbit from Crest concerning how to make children love brushing their teeth.

We kind of like the idea of getting the recommended three minutes of brushing by timing it to a favorite song.

We also take comfort in learning that North American Precis Syndicate remains with us.

Oral health can have a significant impact on overall health and well being of kids yet more than 50 percent of 5- to 9-year old children have at least one cavity or filling, according to the U.S. Surgeon General’s report on oral health in America. The report also states that tooth decay is the single most common chronic childhood disease, five times more common than asthma.
Every family needs to make oral health a priority. These simple tips from Crest make brushing a fun and enjoyable routine for kids.
•    Brush with the right tools
Kid-inspired toothbrushes come in fun shapes, colors and patterns that are specially sized with smaller heads and larger handles to aid in control. Select a toothbrush with soft bristles and rounded ends that provide gentle cleaning.
•    Fun-flavored toothpaste means fun brushing
Children’s toothpaste comes in an array of flavors and colors, such as bubble gum and sparkles, so let the kids choose their own tubes. Make sure to choose toothpaste that has fluoride to help strengthen tooth enamel and prevent cavities. Children under 6 should brush twice a day using a pea-size dab of toothpaste.
•    Music Makes the Minutes Go By
One of the best ways to make sure kids are brushing for the recommended three minutes is to pick a fun song of the same length to play while they brush. Start the song as soon as the toothbrush touches the first tooth and continue to brush for the duration of the song.
•    Award gold stars for outstanding oral practices
Children should brush their teeth twice a day, so keep track of their daily brushing on a calendar by using gold stars. At the end of each week, award a special prize if there are two stars for each day of the week.
•    Keep toothbrushes in view and within reach in the bathroom
Make sure the kids can reach their toothbrushes and toothpaste by keeping them on the counter or in a stick-on cup attached to the wall. If the dental tools are always in sight, they act as reminders that it’s brushing time.
•    Get the kids in the right frame of mind
Trips to the dentist can be a scary experience for some young children, so prepare them beforehand. Give kids an idea of what to expect during a dental visit with role-playing exercises, or using picture books to familiarize kids with dental tools. Children should see the dentist every six months for a complete oral checkup.
•    Brush with your kids
The more the merrier! Lead by example to teach your kids that brushing and flossing is an important part of their daily routine.

In response to the U.S. Surgeon General’s report, Crest has teamed up with Boys & Girls Clubs of America on Crest Healthy Smiles 2010, a program designed to provide oral health education and tools to underprivileged children nationwide.

The paragraphs below would have likely been snipped out as the publication wasn’t the one getting paid for by Crest for the publicity. For the sake of history we are including them with a link to the Crest site for April 2001, the nearest match available via Wayback Machine. Putting an actionable link in an article was not something that would have been possible on newsprint, of course. And we wonder how Healthy Smiles 2010 worked out.
