Abortion Union Connection

Tom C sent a fascinating link regarding the defense the AFL-CIO made regarding the revelation that Planned Parenthood makes mucho money from the sale of body parts from humans whose lives were purposely taken during abortions. Abortion Union Connection

Planned Parenthood provides comprehensive healthcare services to women across the country,”  sadi AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka. “Calls to defund it based on doctored undercover recordings are politically motivated and wrong. We support its core mission of offering safe healthcare services to women in need.”

Planned Parenthood has performed 1.6 million abortions in the last five years and abortion to adoption ratio is 201 to 1. Abortions make up about 94 percent of the group’s pregnancy related services.

Anyway, why is the labor union taking a stand on this rather than, well, illegal immigration?

And how does AFL-CIO Delaware County Council President Paul Mullen feel about defunding the monsters at Planned Parenthood?

Pennsylvania Monopoly Government

I have been a private sector business owner for over 35  years– over the span of my business career I have learned many lessons.

Lesson # 1 – The costs for your products or services have to be less than the pricing for your products or services to make a profit.

No profit means you are out of business – thousands of businesses fail every day in America because the owners did not understand the pricing – cost – profit rule.

There is also another very large dynamic in the business world – competition!

Competition is a factor that does not allow a business to just raise prices whenever it feels like it.

Many business owners fail several times before they succeed – success does not happen overnight – success takes hard work, skill and perseverance.

At some point in a small business owners career, he or shee will have spend a large amount of time lying awake at night staring at the ceiling wondering how they are going to solve an issue in their business, obtain financing or just outright survive a recession or fierce competition.

– and you really don’t have to spend much time keeping your costs under control – are you interested?

There is one business that is a monopoly out there and it is called “The State of Pennsylvania”.

The current Governor of Pennsylvania has sent a notice to all Pennsylvanians that he intends to raise prices.

The Governor wants to raise prices on a lot of products in PA and he doesn’t care about controlling or reducing costs.

In April, an article from Watchdog.org reported that “Philly ghost teachers made more than $1.7 Million Dollars last year”.   Click here for the full article.

Last Sunday Philly.com reported that in Philadelphia “No-bid schools contract is costing millions”.   Click here for the full article.

In July of 2014 an article was published “Welfare fraud in Pennsylvania”.  Click here for the full article.

The welfare fraud article states:

According to the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare, 2013 welfare expenditures were $28 Billion Dollars – 44% of the state budget – and are projected to rise to $32 Billion Dollars in 2015.

Welfare costs will grow for the foreseeable future in both dollars and as a percent of total expenditures. This trend must be reversed.

Former Auditor General, Jack Wagner, estimated that welfare fraud represents 10-15% of total state expenditures, or $2.8 billion  to $4.2 billion  of stolen taxpayer funds.

$400 million  to $675 million  annually could be attributed to food stamps and cash assistance program fraud alone.

While there has been some progress over the last three years in reducing welfare fraud, more action is necessary.

WOW………..

On-going welfare fraud, ghost teachers, no bid school contracts in Philadelphia.

So where is our Governor ??

Governor Wolf is running around PA telling everyone that we have to raise revenue by taxing more products and services and by increasing current taxes – “Earth To Governor Wolf – how about resolving the many out of control cost and fraud issues in PA first before you raise our taxes”.

Let me be clear again with the message I have repeated hundreds of times – “Harrisburg does not have a revenue problem – it has a spending problem”.

In the beginning of my email that I talked about competition – Pennsylvania has competition – and a lot of it – South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia and Kentucky to name a few.

They have low taxes – lots of undeveloped land for large businesses to locate there and public sector unions do not control their state capitols like they do here in Pennsylvania.

To all Pennsylvania taxpayers who understand my message today, and agree that Pennsylvania must get the out of control costs and fraud under control – I ask that you reach out to the PA State Senator and House member who represents you and tell them to stand tall against Governor Wolf and his budget agenda.

I am fed up and I have had enough of “Tax and Spend”.

Are you fed up also?

Toomey Slammed For Mullen Endorsement

Sen. Pat Toomey is getting slammed by the people he is going to need next year for his endorsement in the 161st District house seat special election of the union boss who campaigned hard against him five years ago (and campaigned even harder against Republican Tom McGarrigle last fall.) Toomey Slammed For Mullen Endorsement

“We have come to expect the state Republican Party to offer an endorsement to anyone with an “R” behind their name. However, for Senator Toomey to offer his support to a candidate who would undoubtedly support the same types of policies he railed against when he challenged Specter and other big government Republicans as head of Club for Growth is beyond disappointing.says Leo Knepper of Citizens Alliance of Pennsylvania in a column that can be found here.

It’s worth a read. The traditional Republican in the race is Penn Delco School Director Lisa Esler who is running a write-in campaign that is getting much traction. The election is Aug. 4.

Leanne Krueger-Braneky says she will take questions at a public forum Aug. 2.

It’s official as per Kristina Scala’s story in today’s (July 28) Delaware County Daily Times: Paul Mullen is ducking all debates regarding the Aug. 4 special election for the vacant 161st District Pennsylvania State House seat.

He says it’s because of a scheduling conflict.

Oh no, the big, tough, union guy is hiding. Is he afraid of the girls?

We think it’s because he doesn’t want to explain why he would keep his $130,000 salary as business manager of Local 654 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers while taking a $85,356 salary as a Pennsylvania legislator, and why exactly he quit Keith Crego’s Penn Delco School Board in July 2007 five months after his appointment.

For what it’s worth, Lisa Esler, the Republican write-in candidate, says she will work to end the automatic pay increases, which require no vote to take effect, and, in fact, try to cut legislative salaries. She also said she will not take a pension.

Mrs. Esler, and Leanne Krueger-Braneky, the official Democrat, will appear together, at a forum   2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 2 at Swarthmore Borough Hall, 121 Park Ave sponsored by Delco Debates.

Mullen had been supporting Democrats in state and national races until tapped by the county GOP last May.

Yes Anthony, we all know the highest mountain in the world is Mt. Everest. But did you know the deepest spot in all of the oceans goes 36,198 feet down and is called “Challenger Deep”? It is in the Pacific southwest of Guam. If you plopped Mt. Everest in that spot there would still be over a mile of water above it.

Open Letter To Pat Meehan

An open letter to Pat Meehan. Resident writes open letter to Pat Meehan. This is Joe Dychala's open letter to Pat Meehan.
Congressman Pat Meehan (R-Pa7) at the Independence Hall Foundation’s (formerly Independence Hall Tea Party) Pro Blue Rally in January.

This is an  open letter from  Joseph B. Dychala, a resident of the vacant Pennsylvania’s 161st State House District, to Congressman Pat Meehan (R-Pa7) regarding the congressman’s endorsement of long-time Democrat-supporter Paul Mullen in the special election to fill the seat. Mullin’s Republican opponent is write-in candidate Lisa Esler, a Penn Delco school director and a traditional Republican.

Dear Congressman Meehan:

Your endorsement of Paul Mullen is indicative of everything that is wrong with the Republican party today.

Instead of inserting yourself into this local election you should be standing shoulder to shoulder with like minded representatives in the United States House who truly do represent real Republican values such as limited central government, low taxes and a strong national defense. Trey Gowdy, Louie Gohmert and Mia Love are those people.

We have very serious issues facing our country and our world, in President Barack Hussein Obama’s massive and unprecedented transformation of our great nation, that you were elected to help solve. Instead you feel it prudent to involve yourself in an election that We the people, the citizens of the great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania should have the right to elect our local officials without interference from those who are elected to represent us on the national level.

I would firmly yet politely ask you to seriously and publicly reconsider your endorsement of Paul Mullen. Mr Mullen actively and personally campaigned against Senator Pat Toomey by endorsing, both professionally and personally, his opponent Joe Sestak. If you are going to endorse a candidate in a local election I ask that you obtain all the facts before doing so. Until then sir, and I say this with all respect, I cannot in good conscience cast my vote for your upcoming reelection.
Sincerely,

Joseph B Dychala

161st District Candidate Positions

161st District Candidate Positions -- If you are a Republican, ask yourself which one shares your values. The candidates for the Aug. 4 special election for the vacant 161st District Pennsylvania State House seat were surveyed by the American Family Association of Pennsylvania and their answers can be found here or by clicking on the image.

The candidates are Democrat Leanne Kruegar-Braneky; traditional Republican Lisa Esler, who is running a write-in campaign; and Paul Mullen, who was endorsed by the county Republican Party but until a few weeks ago was an active campaigner for Democrats.

Click on the image and note which candidate answered all the question and which one answered none of them.

If you are a Republican, ask yourself which one shares your values.

For what it’s worth, Mullen did reveal some of his positions in a mailer he sent exclusively to union households.

Mullen is truly a stealth candidate. He has hung up on reporters; failed to responded to a request from the League of Women Voters to participate in a debate; and has yet to return calls from Delco Debates to participate in their debate scheduled for Aug. 2. Mrs. Esler and Ms. Kruegar-Braneky have both committed to attend.

A depiction of the First Temple of Jerusalem

Tisha B’AV which means the 9th of Av as per the Hebrew calendar  started last night, July 25, at sundown and ends at nightfall today.

It commemorates numerous disasters that befell the Jewish people, which in a rather strange coincidence all have happened on the 9th of Av. They include the destruction of the First Temple which occurred at 587 BCE, the destruction of the Second Temple which occurred in the Year 70; the expulsion of the Jews from England in 1290 and the formal approval of the Nazi Final Solution in 1941.

Observance of this day by the devout include a 25-hour fast and the singing of lamentations and dirges.
