Phoenixville Hearing Concerns Cheating Corporate Homebuilders –Pennsylvania State Senator Katie Muth (D-44) will have Home Buyer Beware as the topic of a Democrat Policy Committee Hearing, 11 a.m., May 10, at the Phoenixville Borough Building, 351 Bridge St., Phoenixville, Pa. 19460.

“This hearing will focus on critical issues such as the enforcement of existing regulations, laws, municipal and construction codes; the need for improvements with home and code enforcement inspection process and certification; the oversight authority and responsibilities of local and state government entities; examples of deceptive tactics used by corporate, multi-state homebuilders; the need for enhanced warranties and recourse for the homebuyer,” says her press release.

These are the exact matters being raised by Sean Connolly of Collegeville. Connolly has been describing the horrors of new home construction at TollBrothersFraud.com, and at public meetings including before Montgomery County Commissioners, March 21, and Phoenixville Borough Council, Feb. 13.

Good to see Senate Democrats taking an interests.

Connolly is skeptical as to how far they get. Pretty powerful folk are protecting the rich and shady builders including Gov. Josh Shapiro, he says.

If Shapiro has their backs so does Stradley Ronon which practically runs this state.

Ms. Muth chairs the Senate Democratic Policy Committee. Co-hosts will be hearing with co-hosts Sen. Nikil Saval (D-1) and Sen. Wayne Fontana (D-42).

The 44th District consists of 28 municipalities in Chester County, including Phoenixville; two in Berks County and three in Montgomery County.

Why The Secrets In Fayette County Elections? — Greg Stenstrom has let us know that the battle for election transparency still rages in Fayette County, Pa. with Republican Party establishment mouthpieces taking to the airwaves to claim the matter has been settled.

Greg Stenstrom, GOP commissioner candidate John R. Marrietta Jr. and others have sued Faytette County, a Republican stronghold, and its Board of Elections alleging that significant errors have been found in its primary and general elections of 2023.

Fayettte Common Pleas Court Judge Steve P. Leskinen had dismissed the request for recounts but the plaintiffs appealed to Commonwealth Court saying he had made several errors.

Stenstrom said that Leskinen has ordered that the plaintiffs list these errors and here they are.

They include Leskinen’s claim that the state legislature has exclusive power over setting elections when Article 1, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution allows Congress at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of chusing Senators; and that the judge failed to recognize that free and fair elections are intertwined with civil rights protection.

The plaintiffs also point out that the effort the county is spending to open ballot boxes — something that doesn’t not jeopardize voter privacy — indicates that the certainly have something to hide.

We find that to be a powerful argument. More and more are doubting elections and it isn’t because people are asking questions.

It’s because authorities are hiding answers.

Marple Zones All Delco Woods Open Space; Rejects County Request To Use Building To House Mental Patients From Prison — The Marple (Pa) Commissioners voted 6-0, last night, April 15, to zone the 213-acre former Don Guanella tract all open space.

The commissioners also voted 6-0 to reject certificates of use and occupancy for three buildings on the site sought by Delaware County. Two were wanted for office space. The third was to be a secured 28-bed mental facility for patients who would otherwise be housed at the county prison.

As the second vote was a late agenda addition, the board rescheduled another vote for Monday, April 22, allowing proper advertising.

They want to play it safe, 1st Ward Commissioner Joe Rufo said.

Abstaining from all votes was 6th Ward Commissioner Mike Molinaro. He cited a conflict as he is a county assistant solicitor.

The land was acquired by Delaware County in 2021 and has been renamed Delco Woods. Promises were made by County Council to save it as open space despite it zoned residential and institutional.

The property is between Sproul and Reed roads.

About 40 acres on Sproul Road with buildings for a Catholic Church institution for boys with mental disabilities was the institutional zoning.

Attorney Nick Caniglia, representing the county, said his clients had no objection to changing the residential zoning for the woodland but demanded the institutional section stay.

Close to 100 raucous residents filled the meeting room. Several shouted suspicions that the county would raise the number of mental patients at first chance.

The building for the beds in is 60,000 square feet.

The board noting the unanimous support for rezoning suggested public comment be skipped.

There were no objections but some still took the microphone.

One man said he arrived as immigrant from Sicily in 1977. It had taken him two years of paper work. He was responding to the rumors that the county secretly seeks the buildings to house Biden’s border breakers.

A resident suggested the county use one of the shuttered hospitals as a mental facility.

Charles Alexander of Chuckles Sports asked if the county would put probation offices in one of the buildings.

The commissioners said those with questions should take them to County Council, which will meet 6 p.m., Wednesday, at the Government Center Building, 201 West Front Street, Media, PA .

A woman who led a community youth group said that all her teenagers were vehemently opposed.

A Cedar Grove Road woman said the county has created an atmosphere of distrust with the citizens.

Republicans Liz Piazza, who is seeking the 165th District Pennsylvania House, and Alfe Goodwin, who wants the 5th Congressional District seat were there to support the residents.
