Spring has sprung. The cheerful robins have returned. Old English legend has it that “this pious bird with the scarlet breast” tenderly picked a thorn from the crown of Christ. As the merciful bird flew off a drop of blood fell dying the bird’s breast red.

  1. Interestering, that old legend. Was the robin even native to the Levant?

On the other hand, as King Arthur told us, “The swallow may fly south with the sun or the house martin or the plover may seek warmer climes in winter, yet these are not strangers to our land.”
