And Another Global Warming Scandal

A woman who was a leader on a team  that released a report claiming to be the final and conclusive word that man-made global warming is continuing says the report has hidden data, was unready for peer review and that the evidence indicates  that global warming has stopped.

The report was made by Berkeley Earth Surface
Temperatures project team headed by Richard Muller, of Berkeley University, and has been cited by the usual suspects who want to create a perception of crisis to centralize power and wealth.

Professor Judith Curry, who chairs the
Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at America’s prestigious
Georgia Institute of Technology, and who is the second named author of the team’s four reports, says the data shows the earth stopped warming in 1998.

She says Muller never consulted her before putting the papers on the internet before the peer review process was finished.

“I think they have made errors and I distance myself from what they did,” she said.

  1. She thinks they made errors? Hells bells! where was she last week when just about the entire Northeast was freezing?
    Global warming my patoozie.

  2. Joe,
Global warming does not mean that it will be hot everywhere all the time. It’s a small steady rise in the temperature that is causing the polar icecaps and glaciers to melt. This in turn causes changes in our oceans and climate. I believe it’s a natural cycle of the earth, but is being accelerated by all the crap that we pump into the atmosphere.
At least that’s my understanding, which may or may not be correct.

  3. Hey Rob:
A few years ago we were all heated up about global cooling.
I guess that is a natural thing also and could be accelerated by what we dump into the atmosphere.
I think I’ll let God handle it. He’s really more qualified than Al Gore.

  4. Actually Queball, I think it’s rather bad to keep “dumping crap into our atmosphere”.

Hey, how do feel about ripping down hydro-electric dams because, because, because “rivers want to run free into the sea”?

And how do you feel about replacing the coal plants that produce about half our electricity with nuclear ones which don’t “dump crap into atmosphere”.

How about waiving Davis-Bacon to speed up the fixing of atmospheric crap-dumping traffic snarls?

Hey, about just turning our bridges and turnpikes into toll-less freeways? You don’t even need to waive Davis-Bacon to end the crap-dumping snarls they cause.

The people who are behind the global-warming scare are far more interested in easy, tax-supported lives than solving problems.

Where is the push for telecommuting by these people? The problem with telecommuting is it does not provide these people with a lot of opportunity to acquire power or loot the treasury.

  5. Sorry to disappoint you Joe but I don’t think Al Gore is smarter than God. In fact I think Al Gore has handled this whole issue the wrong way. However, I don’t feel it’s right to keep polluting our environment and figure that “God will handle it” God made us stewards of this earth and I think we should do our best to take care of it.

  6. Well I’m glad to see you think dumping crap into our atmosphere is a bad thing. I also agree with with-“The people who are behind the global-warming scare are far more interested in easy, tax-supported lives than solving problems.” Many of them are, but does that mean that we just ignore the possibility that we are destroying our planet? I don’t pretend to have answers to all these problems however, I do feel we as a whole should be more responsible with the way we treat our environment.

  7. It doesn’t sound like you are arguing with me 🙂

Oh, but giving frauds power, credence and placing them beyond criticism exactly means that we are ignoring the possibility that we are destroying our planet.

A good rule of thumb is that when someone’s deeds don’t match their words turn them off.

  8. Bill,
I’m not arguing with you. I think that we fundamentally agree on some things here. I would hope that people don’t ignore the message just because the messengers are bad.
