Kasich Bores Delco — Ohio Governor and puzzling presidential candidate John Kasich bored a crowd of 300-plus at a campaign town hall this afternoon, April 21, in Delaware County, Pa.

The event was held at the Penn State Brandywine Campus Commons Building in Middletown Township. Among those in attendance were curious students who had no plans on voting for the GOP candidate whoever it would be.

Kasich Bores Delco
Bob Asher being introduced before he introduces Gov. Kasich.

It is impossible for Kasich to get the required number of delegates via the primary process to secure the nomination. So why is he running? Well, he was introduced by establishment epitomes Bob Asher and Andy Reilly, who chairs the Delaware County Republican Party. Maybe he figures there is way to get the prize outside the primary process.

Anyway, Kasich’s performance was boring. Mind-numbingly, painfully, excruciatingly boring. He even sadistically alluded that he was being boring on purpose. He gave long, rambling answers to audience questions. He said strange things that made no sense such as his claim that drug problems would go away if schools and churches taught that doing drugs was bad. Okay. Guess that’s never been done. He blamed the rage in the country  on talk radio and (cough, cough) talk TV.

He said things of substance as well, though. His hallmark was the danger caused by our $19.251 trillion debt and even included as part of his visuals a running debt counter, so kudos there.

He advocated war against ISIS and an expansion of global intelligence capabilities.

He endorsed devolving government services to states and said — unfortunately quite boringly — that problems were best solved locally and even individually.

He boldly said  that the 11 million illegal aliens — his estimate — now in this country should be given a path to legal residency if they have not been involved in crime. “But never citizenship,” he emphasized.

And there were times he sounded almost Trumpian.

If elected, he said that in his first hundred days he would stop all federal regulation excepting those involving health and safety, and require  all regulation be made by legislative votes rather than administrative fiat.

He said he would cut the corporate tax and the personal tax rate.

We are probably missing some things but we are only human and he was Boring. Note the capital B.

Case For Pat Meehan

Case For Pat Meehan

By Don Adams

The Independence Hall Foundation, the largest independent conservative grass roots organization in the tri-state region, is questioning the conservative credentials of congressional candidate Stan Casacio, a former Republican Cheltenham Township Commissioner running for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District.

Case For Pat Meehan
Congressman Pat Meehan

The Casacio campaign is airing 60 second spots on 1210 WPHT-AM which roundly accuses his opponent, US Representative Pat Meehan, of being an Arlen Specter Republican and a RINO (Republican in name only)–an outrageous charge which the conservative Independence Hall Foundation flatly rejects.

The ad falsely implies that Pat Meehan supports Planned Parenthood and is somehow not pro-life, when, in fact, Meehan has consistently voted to defund the nation’s largest abortion provider.   In addition, Meehan has been endorsed  by the National Right to Life .Committee in every general election cycle since 2010 and will receive their endorsement this fall.

The 20-member Foundation Board voted unanimously to endorse Pat Meehan because of his consistent votes, over the years, to defund Planned Parenthood; repeal ObamaCare (over 60 votes); lower taxes; decrease spending; expose corrupt practices of the Veterans Administration; hold the Obama Administration accountable on the Benghazi and Fast and Furious scandals; stop Obama’s Executive Order on Immigration, and support our nation’s defense.  Meehan has also been a staunch advocate of local law enforcement communities.

That is a very strong conservative record,. We wish, however, the same could be said for Stan Casacio.

During his tenure as Cheltenham Township Commissioner (Montgomery County) in the 1980’s, Casacio, who served on the township’s finance committee, voted to increase the township’s budget by 80 percent and raise property taxes by 42 percent to cover the deficit he helped create.

Casacio has not refuted the official record–instead, he and his defenders dismiss his record as something from the distant past.

But this is Casacio’s official public record–and Casacio’s record of taxing and spending is much more in line with RINO Arlen Specter.

We certainly hope voters in the 7th District consider all the facts before voting.

The Pennsylvania 7th Congressional District comprises most of Delaware County, along with parts of Montgomery, Chester, Berks, and Lancaster Counties.

Trump 7th District Supporters

Trump 7th District SupportersTrump 7th District Supporters — Here is what is likely the final breakdown on who the five candidates for presidential delegates from Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District will support at Republican Convention in Cleveland, July 18-21.

Party-endorsed Michael Puppio, Joan Miller and Bob Willert have pledged themselves to the district winner on the first ballot. Ralph E. Wike III and Jan C. Ting have declared for Donald Trump.

Ting initially declared himself uncommitted as he thought he was required to do so by party rules. He came out for Trump, however, on today’s, April 20, Laura Ingraham Show.

Pennsylvania is sending 71 delegates to Republican Presidential Convention, July 18-21 in Cleveland. Seventeen will be bound to the state’s top vote-getter. The remaining 54 — three per congressional district — have no restriction but their word of honor as for whom they may vote.

Lois Kaneshiki, who chairs the Republican Liberty Caucus of Pennsylvania, has been diligently compiling the declarations of the congressional district delegates state-wide which can be found here.

For Trump supporters, a more definitive list of those who back your guy can be found here.

The horribly gerrymandered 7th District consists of parts of Delaware, Montgomery, Chester, Lancaster and Berks counties.

Long Nyquist Pick Jon Ritchie

Long Nyquist Pick Jon Ritchie.

Long Nyquist Pick Jon RitchieBy Scott Wagner

I am writing  about the 31st District Pennsylvania State Senate race.

The 31st District covers Cumberland County and Northern York County.

Senator Pat Vance is retiring. There are  four Republicans running to replace him.

I was elected in a Special Election in March of 2014 to represent the 28th  Senate District of York County.

April 2 marked my two year anniversary in the  senate.

I have reported many times that reforms in Harrisburg, such as pension reform, liquor store privatization, and school property tax relief have been blocked every step of the way by public sector unions, specifically the PSEA (Pennsylvania State Education Association), the AFL-CIO and the United Food & Commercial Workers Union which represents the liquor store employees.

This column focuses on Jon Ritchie who is seeking to replace Vance.

Ritchie was hand-picked by Sen. Vance to succeed her.

Here is the story and my concern – Senator Vance is represented by the Harrisburg lobbying and campaign firm, Long Nyquist.

Sen. Vance recruited Jon Ritchie and directed him to Long Nyquist.

Long Nyquist has a long list of clients.

They represent the PSEA and the Liquor Store Employees Union to name a few.

We have made positive progress in the Pennsylvania State Senate over the last two years and it has not been easy.

The largest positive event since I arrived in Harrisburg two years ago was electing a new Senate Majority Leader.  I led the effort to change leadership.

In an effort to raise money for Jon Ritchie’s campaign, Long Nyquist has secured endorsements from the PSEA and the PA AFL-CIO.

Here is a link to the AFL-CIO endorsement.

And here is a link to the PSEA endorsement.

A recent campaign finance report from the PSEA shows a $25,000 contribution to  Ritchie’s campaign.

Click here to view the contribution listed on PSEA’s campaign finance report.

I feel confident that campaign finance reports filed after the April 26 primary will reveal more public sector union contributions to Ritchie’s campaign.

I met  Ritchie at an event this past January. He is a decent person, but has now been tainted by his campaign advisors. He has no clue as to how Long Nyquist are using him.

Pennsylvania DOES NOT need another Republican in the State Legislature that has taken public sector union contributions and been endorsed by these same unions.

Also concerning me is that Jon Ritchie registered to vote in 1993, 23 years ago, and only voted in one primary election in 2008. He only voted six times in general elections since 1993.

Click here to see his voting history.

Ritchie has not displayed any notable political activity over the last 23 years since he registered to vote in 1993.

In addition, Ritchie has never owned a private sector business which means zero private sector business experience. How would he know any issues affecting private sector businesses?

Ritchie has a sports background.

Of the four candidates running to replace Senator Vance only one candidate has the experience and background needed and can hit the ground running to assist my efforts to reform Harrisburg.

That candidate is State Rep. Mike Regan.

Electing Jon Ritchie to the State Senate makes Jon Ritchie the puppet of Long Nyquist and gives their firm and their public sector union clients more access in Harrisburg through Jon Ritchie.

Enough is enough. It is time for Republicans to stop electing Republicans who accept public sector union money and their endorsements.

Long Nyquist Pick Jon Ritchie.

Joe Peters, Chet Beiler Endorsed By IHF — The Independence Hall Foundation, announced it’s endorsements, today, April 19, for  key Pennsylvania Republican statewide and congressional district primary races. Joe Peters, Chet Beiler Endorsed By IHF

The Foundation’s Don Adams says that while the 20-member board did not reach a consensus in the GOP presidential primary, it has voted unanimously or near unanimously to endorse:

Pennsylvania Statewide Competitive Primary Races

Attorney General

Joe Peters

The Foundation endorses Joe Peters because of his impressive career in law enforcement (his association with Kathleen Kane not withstanding) and his commitment to take on local PA municipalities that provide “sanctuary” to illegal immigrants in opposition to federal and state laws, says Adams.

He says the Foundation duly notes that Peter’s opponent, State Senator John Rafferty, has significantly less experience in law enforcement; supports “dreamer” legislation; opposes the privatization of the Liquor Control Board and the enactment of Paycheck Protection due his strong union ties.

8th District

Brian Fitzpatrick

The Foundation endorses Brian Fitzpatrick over his two primary challengers due to his overwhelming conservative credentials–which include fighting political corruption and worldwide terrorism as an FBI Special Agent; his district-wide name recognition; and his ability to raise the funds necessary to defeat his Democrat primary opponent in the fall election.

16th District

Chet Beiler

The Foundation endorses Chet Beiler due to his successful career as an entrepreneur and his commitment to conservative principles. Beiler’s opponent, State Senator Lloyd Smucker, supports “dreamer” legislation and opposes cracking down on “sanctuary”
municipalities.

17th District

Matt Connolly

The Foundation endorses charismatic NASCAR race driver, Matt Connolly, because of his commitment to conservative principles and his second place finish in a three-way primary race two years ago–which earned him district-wide name recognition. In 2014, Connolly’s opponent, Northampton County Councilman Glenn Geissinger, voted to increase county taxes by almost 10%.

Kasich Delaware County Visit

Kasich Delaware County VisitKasich Delaware County Visit — Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who has absolutely no chance of becoming the Republican nominee via the primary process, will be bringing his presidential campaign to Delaware County, Thursday, April 21 at the Penn State Brandywine Campus Commons Building, 25 Yearsley Mill Road, Media (Middletown Township) Pa., 19o63.

Doors open at 1:30 p.m., and the program runs 2:30 -4.

Sign up early here as they will likely be turning people away due to the massive crowd.

Just kidding.

Actually, we suspect they will manage to fill the venue due to the Governor’s support among party regulars and those with government jobs but  can you seriously imagine Donald Trump picking the Brandywine Campus Commons Building as a site for an event?
