Miller Revealing Aument Indifference

Miller Revealing Aument Indifference — Mike Miller, the guy who is taking on the Republican wool-garbed wolf who represents the 36th District in the Pennsylvania Senate, attended Monday’s Elanco School Board meeting and then the one in Warwick School District the next night.

He says he was there to support the parents and learn about the controversies. He spoke at neither.

The issues in Elanco —  Eastern Lancaster County School District — are described here. Warwick’s concern involves allegations that the school board has been derelict in its duties with regard to what books that were allowed in the curriculum as they appear to be more about indoctrinating fashionable values and less about developing the ability for independent thought.

Ryan Aument, the wolf that Miller is hunting, won election to the Senate eight years ago and has quickly worked his way into a leadership role holding the position of Caucus Secretary.

Miller, a 46-year-old investment advisor from Ephrata, is a husband of 19 years and father of three.

Miller never before sought political office. He became motivated to run when he began paying attention to Aument’s actions during the two years of Covid.

Miller notes that Aument did not represent the two-to-one Republican district in the way they should expect.

Aument backed Act 77 which gave this state the disaster of mail-in voting.

“People feel there is no accountability for that,” Miller said.

Miller notes that Aument continued to support funding for the University of Pittsburg after it was revealed that its research included grafting parts from aborted babies onto lab rats.

Miller also points out that Aument is the only Republican sponsor of SB 99, which would make diversity rather than competency or character the primary goal in hiring teachers.

Incumbent Ryan Aument

It’s not something that helps education or Lancaster County, Miller says.

Miller says he didn’t seek endorsement from the Republican Party.

“We don’t need their blessing to be a citizen,” he said.

He expects an onslaught from the party bosses in the next month.

Surprisingly, he expects to prevail. He says the there is a lot of dissatisfaction with Aument in the community, and the more people know about him the dissatisfaction has increased.

Miller says he is getting a good response as he goes door-to-door and finds voters become his enthusiastic after he explains Aument’s positions.

And Aument has been rather indifferent to his constituents.

He wasn’t in Elanco or Warwick, after all.

And here are two more Republican candidates for lieutenant governor. The primary election is May 17. Previous stories can be found here and here and here.

Jeff Coleman has one of the most extensive websites of any of the candidates and a plethora of experience and recommendations. He has over 50 (!) recommendations from people including Matt Brouillette, Rep. Donna Oberlander, and Sam Rohrer. Rick Santorum said  “In a time of division, we need leaders like Jeff who can bring people together.”

Jeff Coleman

Coleman is the son of missionaries who served in the Phillipines during the 1986 overthrow of Ferdinand Marcos.

During his time in the Pennsylvania House, he helped lead the fights against gambling expansion and higher taxes. In an unusual move, after only serving two terms, he decided to retire from the State House to devote more time to his family.

In 2005, Coleman and his wife Rebecca founded Churchill Strategies to help conservative candidates and causes.  He’s a graduate of Liberty University and Rebecca is a member of the Borough Council in Lemoyne.

He is also the author of the book “With All Due Respect, Recovering the Manners and Civility of Political Content”.

Teddy Daniels wears many hats.  He’s an America Firster, combat veteran, pro-Trumper, and a retired police officer.  He’s a recipient of the Combat Infantry Badge and the Purple Heart. In 2002, he was named Law Enforcement Officer of the Year by a Maryland American Legion post.

Teddy Daniels

At West Virginia University, he was a starting guard for its nationally-ranked football team.

He has been a leader in the legal marijuana market and is listed as a security advisor for Cannaspire.

In the last election, Daniels served the Trump campaign as the Northeast US Director of Vets for Trump. He has aligned himself with gubernatorial candidate Douglas Mastriano.

However, Rolling Stone Magazine has posted an article that includes accusations of domestic abuse, child support arrears, suspensions from his police job, and other offenses.   The Feb 16 article made it clear that Teddy Daniels had declined an interview request and refused to answer a series of written questions.

There are also other articles echoing these charges,  Voters may want to review these and form their own opinions.

Fitzpatrick Worker Takes Entin Signs

Fitzpatrick Worker Takes Entin Signs — Brian Fitzpatrick who is seeking a third term to represent Pennsylvania’s 1st District in Congress is facing a Republican primary challenge from Alex Entin, a regular patriotic family man with an MBA.

Is Fitzpatrick afraid of Entin?

Below is video of one of his campaign workers brazenly taking Entin signs on Stonyhill Road in Lower Makefield at Route 332.

The minion says they were illegal.

Since when do campaign workers enforce laws?

Maybe Fitzpatrick, a former FBI agent, can answer.

For what it’s worth, being an FBI guy is no longer a resume enhancer.

The primary election is May 17.

Here is the video.

More Alternatives For Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor

More Alternatives For Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor

By Bob Small

Returning to Pennsylvania’s lieutenant governor’s race, there are two very distinct GOP female candidates, as per Politics1.com: Carrie Lewis Delrosso and Clarice Schillinger (see previous post)

State Rep. Carrie Lewis DelRosso (R-Oakmont) defeated long-time House Minority Leader Frank Dermody, who had served as a state representative for almost three decades.  She is a self-described pro-lifer and second-amendment advocate. She also supports affordable health care, fewer regulations, and time limits for the Pennsylvania legislature, and opposes higher state taxes.

Ms. DelRosso sees expected Democrat gubernatorial candidate Josh Shapiro, as “an extension of the disastrous Wolf administration, pandering to liberal interest groups and further wrecking an already wounded state economy.” She runs Carrie Lewis Delrosso LLC, a company that does business consulting, marketing, and public relations. She describes herself as “a working mother of three”.

Meanwhile, Brian Sims, the first openly gay state representative (182nd) is running to become the first openly gay lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania. He is a civil-rights lawyer who has served as the president of the Board of Directors of Equality Pennsylvania and as chairman of Gallop (Gay and Lesbian Lawyers of Philadelphia).

As a college football player and team captain, he helped lead Bloomsberg University to the 2000 Division 2 National Championship Game. He later came out as gay to the team.

This would provide at least one person in the State House who would be affected by pending legislation on the issue of gay rights.

Russ Diamond is one of the few state-wide candidates that I have actually met, which occurred when I was advocating for the The Political Party Equality Act in the 2000s.

Diamond not only met with us but also spoke at one of our rallies.

He received a Public Service Achievement Award from Common Cause of Pennsylvania, among many awards.  He is an author, musician and private pilot.  He and his wife Beth, live in his family home in Annville., built by his great-grandparents.

Though his positions and mine don’t always align, I think he deserves respect for his experience and accomplishments.  How about an openly conservative lieutenant governor?

Trump Oz And Kathy Barnette

Trump Oz And Kathy Barnette — President Trump endorsed surgeon and TV personality Dr. Mehmet Oz, Saturday, April 9, for Pennsylvania’s senate seat being vacated by Pat Toomey.

Conservatives on social media expressed ire all weekend over the President’s decision.

We described some of our problems with Oz here and here.

The President’s endorsement came a day after we endorsed Kathy Barnette.

Go figure.

Pollster supreme Rich “The People’s Pundit” Baris tweeted upon learning of the endorsement that Oz is not just favored to win the primary but the general.

Maybe that figured in The Donald’s thinking.

Still, we’re sticking with Kathy and encouraging all to vote for her. If Baris is right Oz will win anyway. If not, then Ms. Barnette can become Sen. Barnette in November.

There is one, rather ironic, point for Oz. Some are saying he will be another Mitt Romney, a backstabber who was also endorsed for senator by Trump. Romney is a two-faced, pandering, childishly emotional, ego-driven invertebrate who will happily do anything to advance himself. That Oz did not cave on keeping his dual citizenship with Turkey shows he at least has a spin and some character.

Still, vote for Kathy.

Phyllis Schlafly Eagles Event Featured Michael Flynn

Phyllis Schlafly Eagles Event Featured Michael Flynn — Kudos to Stan Casacio for a top-flight show, Friday evening (April 8), with the Phyllis Schlafly Eagles 2022 Awards Ceremony at the Green Valley Country Club in Lafayette Hill., Pa.

Keynote speaker was Gen. Michael Flynn, who future generations will remember as a persecuted hero during a dark time in America.

Flynn, the recipient of the Phyllis Schlafly Freedom Award, described what we face as unprecedented that can’t compare with the Revolution or the Civil War. He said the battle wasn’t between Democrats and Republicans, or conservatives and progressives but between “those who love this country and traitors.”

The implication was well understood by the crowd of more than 200 that Republicans don’t automatically mean patriots.

Flynn said it was a spiritual fight with the opponents being those who hold that we are endowed by our Creator with inalienable rights, and those that want to bring forth a socialist/Marxist/fascist hell were people are mere pawns to be played with by those who hold power.

Phyllis Schlafly Eagles Event Featured Michael Flynn
Stan Casacio at the podium. Seated from left are Gen. Flynn, Ed Martin, John Schlafly and an unidentified man.

He said this scheme well-preceded Donald Trump’s presidency. He noted that the removal of God from the Democrat platform in 2012 was planned.

He warned that sitting on the sidelines was no longer an option and that all who cared must get involved. He said he was doing it for his grandchildren.

When Flynn learned that an Oregonian was in the audience, he noted the Republican have not won there since the state went all mail-in voting two decades ago. He said it was a test case for those seeking to make elections forever meaningless.

The general talked about our low performing public schools. He described how parts of this great nation looked like third, even fourth, world places. He described wasteful wasteful spending and indifference among those who govern us. He said he was shocked when he was told that Pennsylvania’s budget was $42 billion for a state with 13 million residents.

Bad news, General. We got to $103 billion in spending in 2020-2021 before we stopped counting which was when departmental budgets dropped to nine digits.

Flynn and the event left one inspired rather than in despair, however. The panel and the crowd may have been diverse with regard to race and religion and sex but was upbeat, motivated and completely united in outlook.

Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity, who won election in 2020, to our delight cited Russell Kirk , a brilliant thinker whose name we haven’t heard in a long time.

Bunny Welsh, who served as sheriff of Chester County for 20 years, described the great people in law enforcement and noted how the sacrifices they make are not exaggerated. She described how two of her deputies were gunned down by a man with mental problems during an eviction, and the sickness she felt as she heard it happening while she was in the communications room. She described the long anguish a deputy suffered when forced to shoot a person in the lobby of the Chester County Government Center.

Kathy Barnette, who is running to replace Pat Toomey as U.S. senator, described her youth growing up dirt-poor in Alabama in a home without running water. She said her her birth came about after her mother was raped at the age of 11. She said she always felt loved and grateful despite circumstances, and that it was this love that motivated her to go to college and become a success. Casacio met her a pro-life rally several years ago and encouraged her to enter politics. Flynn met her a year ago and also highly endorsed her.

Ms. Barnette said she is in the top three in polling despite the other two out-spending her more than 10 to 1.

Ms. Barnette is pro-life, pro school choice, pro border security and pro health care. We can safely say we have found a senate candidate we can back in the primary on May 17.

Teddy Daniels, a Purple Heart recipient for action in Afghanistan, made a strong pitch to be the GOP nominee for lieutenant governor. Video was shown of the combat where he received his wound. He is certainly someone for whom we can vote but, unlike the Senate race, there are other good candidates and we remain undecided. We confess, though, that he may be our front-runner.

State Sen. Doug Mastriano, (R-33), was the recipient of the event’s Pennsylvania Voter Integrity Award. Mastriano, who is running for governor, was praised for his military service, for his strong opposition to Gov. Wolf’s covid lockdowns, and for his support for an investigation into the 2020 election. He was endorsed by Casacio and Flynn, and by radio host Donald Beishl, Jr.

There are some people we respect who are very much opposed to Mastriano. We looked for him after the event to ask questions but were unable to find him. He mingled before hand and we likely could have talked to him then but things slipped away so shame on us.

Vote fraud was a big subject with no one in the room questioning that the 2020 election was stolen from Trump.

Toni Shuppe and Karen Taylor from Audit the Vote Pa described themselves as moms and homemakers, and explained how they became involved when it dawned on them how the election was stolen. They both had high praise for Mastriano.

Calvin Tucker, who is deputy chairman of the state GOP, described the in-roads Pennsylvania Republicans are making with communities that traditionally vote Democrat. He said Trump increased his share of the Black vote from 8 percent in 2016 to 12 percent in 2020. Consider it just one more proof that Trump won the election.

The depravity of abortion came up several times during the night especially with regard to the indifference shown by Washington D.C. authorities to discovery of the bodies of infants who may have been killed outside the womb.

Flynn said that earlier that day he urged Tucker Carlson to keep the story going.

Also mentioned was the unfair treatment of the January 6 protesters who are rotting in a D.C. jail for what is basically trespass.

There were at least two lawyers in the crowd representing some of them. They said the prisoners were not allowed to shave and the man all had thick beards.

Fourteen months in jail is a pretty long sentence for someone who has actually been convicted of a crime. No matter where one stands on the political spectrum, one should be outraged at people being held this long without bail or trial.

Also among the speakers was John Schlafly, who is Phyllis’s son, and Ed Martin.

Josephine Hughes sang The National Anthem, God Bless America and I’m Proud to Be an American. Pastor Todd Johnson gave the invocation and led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Olivia Braccio handled photography.

Phyllis Schlafly, who died in 2016, was also an American hero, fighting and beating the Marxists and corporate feudalists starting in the 1950s. She wrote the perceptive and influential book A Choice Not An Echo, which you can read for free here.

John Lawrence Hears Footsteps And Makes Silly Warning In 13th District Race

John Lawrence Hears Footsteps And Makes Silly Warning In 13th District Race — Is John Lawrence actually afraid that Carmela Ciliberti is going to keep him from getting his seventh term in the Pennsylvania House?

He seems to be.

Lawrence, the Republican who has represented the very Republican 13th District since winning in 2010, is strongly endorsed by the people who supposedly count in Republican politics yet is facing fire for ignoring the wants of his very Republican constituents.

Hence the primary challenge by Ms. Ciliberti, who worked for 20 years in the private sector with FlightSafety International before becoming a lawyer.

Still when the “conservative” organizations and Republican leaders are backing you, it should be a slam-dunk right? Especially when the opponent is a political novice.

Yet, a little birdie tells us that Lawrence is warning that if he loses the primary, which is May 17, the Democrats are going to pour millions in the race and hence let the seat be taken by Chamir James, whose qualification is that he is a graduating senior at Lincoln University.

Props to James for getting involved, but his resume doesn’t compare with 20 years in the private sector followed by a law degree.

And that leaves aside the issues.

Yet, Lawrence is claiming getting James is what replacing him means.

Sounds like desperation.

If we lived in the district, Carmela would have our vote. We suspect a lot of the people who live there are thinking like us.

Below is what she is saying about Lawrence, and maybe that’s why he seems frightened.

Returning to the Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor Race, we have two very distinct GOP female candidates, as per Politics1.com:  Carrie Lewis DelRosso and Clarice Schillinger, both of whom are Republicans.

We will cover Carrie Lewis Delrosso in a future post.

Clarice Schillinger founded Keeping Kids in School PAC, a bipartisan grassroots group in Southeast Pennsylvania created to elect candidates to school boards who would keep the schools open, and include parents and taxpayers in their decision making.  Through her efforts 94 school board candidates got on the ballot and 98 percent of them won their elections.

The school board elections was an issue we previously covered.

After the primaries, she created Back to School Pa., a statewide initiative that has given out over $600,000 to school board candidates, and provides candidate training and providing them with statewide media access.  She was featured in a March 1, 2021 article in the New York Times.   The funding, it should be added, comes from  various sources:

She is married to Mike Schillinger, a carpenter and they have three children.

She first became an activist working to clean up the now-shuttered Willow Grove Naval Air Station thought to be a source of cancer in Horsham, Warminster, and Warrington, due to chemicals leaking into the groundwater.

It is now a superfund site.

However, she has made one serious enemy inSimon Campell, a transplanted Brit who has recorded a serious of four YouTube videos titled Bollocks.

In this episode, he declares her unfit to hold office.

The only previous female lieutenant governor in Pa was the indomitable Catherine Baker Knoll, who served from 2003-2008 under Gove Ed Rendell.  For a good overview of her life, including her favorite motorcycle helmets, see The Steel Woman of the Steel City.

Afro American Lt Gov Candidates From Both Parties In Pa

Afro American Lt Gov Candidates From Both Parties In Pa

By Bob Small

According to the University of Virginia Center for Politics, almost half the states elect lieutenant governors separately from governors.  This can lead to governors being from the other party than lieutenant governor though not normally in Pennsylvania.

Politics1.com lists 13 Candidates for lieutenant governor, 11 men and two women, nine of whom are Republican along with four Democrats.  This includes the current incumbent Democrat, John Fetterman, who is also a candidate for US Senate.   About half of these candidates are current or former state representatives.

Pennsylvania has never elected an Afro-American as lieutenant governor.

Among the Afro-American candidates who are seeking to break the color barrier at this office in 2022 are; Austin Davis, a state rep from Mon Valley whom Democrat gubernatorial candidate Josh Shapiro has endorsed; Republican Chris Frye who is the first Afro-American Mayor of New Castle, Pa. in it’s 200 year history and is e is pro-life, anti CRT, and believes in less government and more faith; and Republican and Hatboro resident James Jones , a Navy veteran and the founder of Silverback Commodities, who describes himself as a pro-life Christian constitutionalist and “Frederick Douglas Conservative.”

Powerful Pennsylvania Republicans Being Primaried

Powerful Pennsylvania Republicans Being Primaried — Powerful Pennsylvania incumbents have Republican Primary challengers, May 17, and we are pushing for the challengers.

Speaker of the House Bryan Cutler is facing Anne Weston, a chiropractic assistant from Quarryville, in the 100th Legislative District; John Lawrence, who is seeking his seventh term in the 13th Legislative District is facing Carmela Ciliberti, an attorney and regulatory compliance manager; and Senate Republican Caucus Secretary Ryan Aument is facing Mike Miller, a business owner and investment advisor, in the 36th Senatorial District.

The incumbents mouth the “conservative” platitudes they’ve been mouthing since starting their long careers but are far more interested in their power, per diems and pay than having what they claim to be their wants turn into reality.

Ms. Ciliberti boldly calls out Lawrence for this. (See screen shot.)

And they have been silent regarding the big elephant in the room that is election integrity.

Yes, the Senate attempted to audit the Dominion machines in Fulton County but it has been crickets since the state Supreme Court shot it down last week in a baldly partisan ruling.

“Well I guess that’s it then,” you can almost hear them doofusing.

Free clue: When the other side stops playing by the rules, the rules don’t exist.

Where are the outraged press conferences? Where are the angry speeches on the floors of the House and Senate?

Hey, how can you be angry when you are collecting $95G for what is basically a part-time job? Believe it or not, they have it set up so they don’t have to vote to get a raise.

Where are the brave and wise solons demanding that our voting machines and affiliated software be considered public property, and that certified ballot counting observers never be kept from observing counting?

They certainly aren’t in Harrisburg.

Vote for the new kids.
