Corporate America Wants Gay Marriage

An amicus brief was filed March 5 by 379 corporations and business groups urging the U.S. Supreme Court to declare “marriage rights” for same sex marriage with regard to Obergefell v. Hodges. Corporate America Wants Gay Marriage

The list includes CBS and Philly’s own Comcast which owns NBC so expect the news you get about the matter to be what you expect.

It includes Goldman Sachs from whence, it seems, more often than not comes  our treasury secretaries. And of course it includes all the hip tech companies like Apple and Facebook and Google.

You get the suspicion that this is a done deal and no amount of reason or rationality can change things.

Still, we will try.

Sodomy is bad and society should not give an inkling of approval for it. It should be given the same status as chain smoking cigarettes or eating super-sized meals thrice a day.  It should be encouraged as much as sharing a needle in a crack house.  People who care about people don’t give license for these things.

The claim that people are born gay is problematic. Just ask a heterosexual male who has been pestered by a gay one. Obviously, recruitment occurs, and obviously choices are made. The claim that one is born in such a way that one can’t resist a sexual relationship with another male is the linchpin of the gay marriage movement. It makes about as much sense as saying a man can’t resist a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl or another man’s wife.

Civil marriage is not about personal fulfillment. The only reason for the state to be involved in the relationship between two people is because third parties might find themselves involuntarily involved. With a man and a women these third parties are called children. It is pointed out that marriages occur now between parties that cannot or do not intend to have children. These are marriages of convenience. They are not good things. They should, in fact, be discouraged. If gay marriage is declared a right, marriages of convenience will become the norm. Why shouldn’t two business partners get married to resolve tax issues? If gay marriage becomes a right, why not incest? The only reason for the institution is  “love” and “personal fulfillment” right? A father-son marriage would certainly be a way of beating the inheritance bite. Meanwhile, the moms and dads  who are actually working to create the future find the burden just gets a little harder for them.

Fathers are vital to child rearing, maybe even more so than mothers. While, we think you can make, unlike for men, some kind of a case for a marriage between  two women, choosing to raise a child without a father is epitome of irresponsibility and should be discouraged.

Ancient wisdom matters. The Bible is not ambiguous regarding homosexuality. It’s a bad thing according to Scripture. History backs this up. Societies where male homosexuality was commonplace — again putting paid the claim that one is always born gay — have not been very pleasant for women. And regarding the purposeful and even pleasure-filled rejection of the Biblical commands, when one discounts the straightforward condemnations of things one doesn’t like, one will find others discounting the things upon one has come to depend.  Why should one expect mercy and compassion and tolerance? Because Comcast said so? LOL.

Here is a list of  the 379 business groups that want gay marriage to be a right.

Hillary Vs Petraeus

Hillary Clinton during her tenure as secretary of state exclusively used a personal email account to conduct government business. This was illegal as per the Federal Records Act and with good reason. Records are not kept of necessary communications. Others, (the President, Congress, Department of Defense) have to know what is being discussed with foreign leaders after all. Further, private email is not notoriously insecure. Here’s an irony:  China might know what Mrs. Clinton told a particular representative of another nation — or rich foreign person seeking to give her and her hubby money — while Obama might not. Hillary Clinton Hillary Vs Petraeus

Tom Conigliaro has pointed out to us that Gen. David Petraeus found himself with a misdemeanor conviction and saw his long public life end with a far less willful act of irresponsibility.

That certainly should be Mrs. Clinton’s fate.

Will it?

Many still want her as president.

If you want to see an illustration as to how much danger this country is in watch the below all-time scary video:

Obama Loves America

Obama Loves America as much as Bill Ayers
Obama loves America every bit as much as does Bill Ayers (above) and Rev. Jeremiah Wright. This image of Ayers standing on the Stars and Stripes was used to illustrate a flattering New York Times Magazine article about how he didn’t regret setting bombs in his Weatherman days..

Former New York Mayor and 9/11  hero Rudy Guiliani told a crowd of  business leaders, Feb. 18, at the 21 Club in New York City that he doesn’t believe Obama loves America.

Oh, did heads spin. The bile boiled over on leftist blogs as progs came out in defense of their god. Rudy, himself, got death threats.

The Mayor didn’t back down, though, repeating his claim on cable news shows.

Mayor, the best response would have been merely to concede that the President does love America — every bit as much as Rev. Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers. He willingly subjected himself to Wright’s sermons   for two decades, after all; and  Ayers, a man who once helped plan the bombing of the Pentagon, hired him to chair his Chicago Annenberg Challenge.

Here is the link to a flattering article concerning Ayers in which he expresses pride for his role in the bombings of  New York City Police Headquarters in 1970, of the Capitol building in 1971,  and the Pentagon in 1972. If you want to feel a bit of extreme cosmic irony note the date the article was published.

Below is Rev. Wright showing how much he loves America.

Kitzhaber Reportedly Quitting

John Kitzhaber, the Democrat governor of Oregon, is reportedly preparing his resignation over a graft scandal involving billionaire Democrat donor Tom Steyer. Kitzhaber Reportedly Quitting

The nonprofit environmental group, Clean Energy Development Center, which is financed by Steyer had shoveled $118,000 to Kitzhaber’s fiancee Cylvia Hayes to advocate for policies supported by the group. She never disclosed the money despite advising the governor.

One-percenter Steyer was a major donor to one-percenter Tom Wolf in his successful run to be Pennsylvania’s governor last year.

And here’s a question to ponder: Why do people who care so much about nature need $118,000 to lobby for it? Maybe it’s not nature that they care about but nice gig that pretending to gets them.

Bob Guzzardi informed  us at 7:21 p.m. that Kitzhaber’s resignation is  official.

Jeffrey Epstein. His atheist friends are standing by him.

Rutgers University biologist Robert Trivers has come out in support of Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein is the notorious uber-rich Democrat donor and friend of Bill Clinton who ducked serious child molestation charges in 2008 after pleading guilty to a single instance of prostitution but is now in the limelight after a woman has accused him of forcing her as a teenager to have sex with Prince Andrew and others.

“By the time they’re 14 or 15, they’re like grown women were 60 years ago, so I don’t see these acts as so heinous,” Trivers told Reuters news agency.

Trivers received $40,000 from Epstein to study the link between knee symmetry and sprinting ability.

Arizona State University physicist Lawrence Krauss also is standing by Epstein.

“His interest is in interesting people,” he said.

Trivers and Krauss are  outspoken atheist activists.

Epstein served 25 months ending in June 2010, much of it under house arrest.

Rob McCord Democrat — And Corporate Connected

This morning’s (Jan. 31) The Philadelphia Inquirer has a huge front-page headline about the looming guilty plea of  Pennsylvania Treasurer Rob McCord.Rob McCord Democrat -- And Corporate Connected Philadelphia Inquirer Rob McCord Headline

McCord attempted to extort money during his failed gubernatorial run last year by warning potential donors that they should not make an enemy of the state treasurer. He is charged with violation of federal campaign finance law as it is illegal to solicit campaign funds in exchange for official acts.

No where on the front page does it mention McCord’s party affiliation.

In fact, it’s not until the very last paragraph on the jump page that it is noted that McCord’s gambit happened in the Democrat Primary.

Compare that to how The Washington Post covered it.

McCord is from Montgomery County and like fellow Democrat Gov. Tom Wolf is a rich, white guy who made a fortune in the private sector, in McCord’s case as a venture capitalist with Safeguard Scientifics.

McCord founded the Eastern Technology Council in 1998 and ran it through 2007.  We think its safe to say that another spelling for the Eastern Technology Council would be “cronyism”.

What this illustrates is that not all capitalists believe in free markets.

McCord, who on Thursday (Jan. 29) announced that he would resign on Feb. 12, said he will now resign immediately. His successor will be appointed by Wolf.

Jeff Epstein Told You So

Jeff Epstein Told You So

Jeff Epstein, we warned you about this guy.

The Arkansas Love Machine (ALM) a.k.a Bill Clinton is still producing scandals even in his 68th year as the perverse acts of his party friend Jeff Epstein have now exploded onto the public.

Epstein is the mysterious billionaire whose properties include a New York townhouse a Palm Beach mansion and a private island.

He  served a short soft (county jail, day trips to his office, house arrest) sentence after pleading guilty in 2008 to a single charge of prostitution despite evidence of him  having numerous sexual encounters with girls as young as 12.

Clinton was among the rich and powerful who were close friends of Epstein. Clinton’s name was found in Epstein’s private phone book with 21 numbers at which to contact him.  Hey, the ALM can’t miss a party, right?

Anyway, we have been writing about Epstein since 2010. We have created an archive to let all know we were ahead of the curve. The archive can be found in the drop down menu on the side or here.

Charlie Hedbo Attack Shows Why 1st Amendment Needs 2nd

Gunmen shouting “Allahu akbar” attacked  the French satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo killing at least 12 — including two police officers — and wounding four.

The Islamic attackers used a Kalashnikov  — that’s a real assault rife — and a rocket launcher.

So much for gun control.

The attack occurred  11:30 this morning, Jan. 7, Central European Time which is about five hours ago.

Charlie Hebdo  drew the ire of Islam when it re-printed  in 2006 these Jyllands-Posten cartoon depictions of Mohammed.

Charlie Hedbo Attack Shows Why First Amendment Needs Second

It doubled down in September 2012 when it published cartoons of a naked Mohammed in response to protests over the low-budget film “Innocence of Muslims”.

Last week, it featured French author Michel Houellebecq whose latest book “Submission” imagines a France in the near future ruled by an Islamic government.

Can such an attack happen here, say at Comedy Central?

Well, our hipsters — unlike, we love the irony, the French — aren’t known for their courage.  The objects of their mocking are specifically picked for objecting to violence hence their avoidance of all things Islamic

However, bullies sense weakness and it doesn’t take much of an excuse for them to resort to inflicting pain so cravenness in the end provides no protection.

Our suggestions are firstly to stop mocking things held sacred. The Jyllands-Posten cartoons were not mocking Islam. They were standing up to bullies and standing up for a value system. Mocking would be making an image of Mohammed out of dung or dropping one in a jar of urine. Doing such does not make one a hero but merely  a jerk. One can tell the truth or dispute another without resorting to mocking.

Secondly, understand that there are those who feel they are ordained to rule and have no compunction about forcing you to do their bidding. They must be fought. This means the First Amendment needs the Second. A rocket launcher is not a great means of self defense but if some of the staff at Charlie Hebdo were packing pistols, the death toll would be a lot less and the perpetrators would not be now likely planning their next attack.

And by now it should be apparent that government gun control does not work.

Thirdly, for my Muslim readers “Allahu akbar” means God is greatest. Yes, God is greatest. He doesn’t need some  loser wannabe defending Him.

Fannie Mae Kindled Tea Party

The Tea Party movement has been accused of being run by racists and bigots and sexists and homophobes. Its members have been accused of being anti-science who don’t care if the world is burning to the ground.

The charges are false. In fact, when one looks at those making them  and then follows the money, well, it is more often than not welcome to the Tea Party.

The spark for the movement was obviously Obamacare, the disaster that was predicted and is now coming to pass.

But there was plenty of kindling and maybe the biggest pile of it was the housing bust sparked by the misue of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Fannie Mae is the Federal National Mortgage Association which is a financial services corporation created by the U.S. Congress in 1938 to expand the secondary mortgage market by securitizing mortgages. The nickname comes from its acronym (FNMA)

Freddie Mac is Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (FHLMC) It is also a “government-sponsored enterprise” and was created in 1970. Freddie Mac  buys mortgages on the secondary market, pools them, and sells them as a mortgage-backed security to investors on the open market.

In 1992, the Housing and Community Development Act was passed and this mandated Fannie Mae to provide mortgages to low-income people who would otherwise be considered bad credit risks, which were then pooled by Freddie Mac.

Under the Clinton administration, these risky loans boomed. Now, Fannie  and Freddie while “government sponsored” are publicly traded, although both are now over the counter as they were delisted by the New York Stock Exchange in 2010.  Their officers are not government employees.

The expanded loans made it look like they were just doing great when it was doing anything but.

Harold Raines was the CEO of Fannie Mae. He made about $90 million in salary and bonuses. J. Timothy Howard was CFO and Leanne G. Spencer was controller. They also made money.

In December 2006,  U.S. regulators  filed suit against them seeking to recoup $115 million in bonus payments along with $100 million in penalties. In 2012, the suit was dropped. They got away with it.

Pretty good heist, right?

The bad loans at Fannie  and Freddie cost the U.S. taxpayers between  $224 and $360 billion in bailouts.

Bernie Madoff was a piker to these guys and he’s going to die in prison.

And that is just one more reason why there is a Tea Party and people are angry and suspicious of those running government.

Dark Money Excuse For Power Grab

Jon Cassidy at Watchdog.org has an article explaining how state laws seeking to expose the rich donors of political causes are being used to stifle local activism.

He cites as an example  a community group in Colorado that was sued under such a “dark money” law for opposing the annexation of a neighborhood by a larger community.

The community group consisted of about a half-dozen neighbors and spent about $1,000 for yard signs and literature.

Karen Sampson, the woman who organized the group, fought the suit and won with a federal court declaring the law unconstitutional. It took four years, though, and the Democrat-controlled Colorado legislature has failed to bring the law into line with the court ruling.

“I’m ashamed to say, that if I’d known we would be sued, and now knowing how absurd Colorado’s campaign finance laws are, I would think twice about getting involved in an issue ballot,” Ms. Sampson said.

The Colorado law requires any two people who spent $200, or 30 percent of their budget, on an issue appearing on a ballot had to register as a political committee and comply with the complex web of regulations meant for political pros, Cassidy says.

It’s just one more thing to keep your eye and to fight if you love freedom.
